Chapter 247: The Leviathan
[A few minutes before Kai felt the vibrations below the surface]
Cornelia stared into the water, hoping to see Kai resurface. "Do you think he’ll be okay?"
"Oh, yeah. He’ll be fine. Just sit back, relax, and wait for him to come back." Gwen plopped down on a beach chair and drank a beverage from a coconut with a straw.
Nadya handed Cornelia one of those drinks as well, telling her that it would soothe her body. In reality, it was the sugar that made them crash.
"Is he always like this? Wild and reckless?" She wondered
"He’s more than that! He’s funny, adventurous, strong, a womanizer, and extremely handsome." Amaya gushed.
"And a father, can’t forget that." Sasha chuckled.
"He’s a dad?"
"He has, like, over ten girls pregnant right now. We’re actually going back home in about two months to see the delivery for the ones due soon." Kyana said, also sitting in a beach chair while suntanning.
"Wow. Are any of you pregnant?"
"No, not yet. Can’t have a child get in the way of our adventure, am I right?" Kyana winked.
"I guess that makes sen-"
BOOOOOOOOOOOM
A loud, massive explosion rocked the entire ship, forcing everyone to their feet. Thanks to the protection Kai had placed on his ship, the explosion caused no harm or damage to the ship and its crew.
"What the hell was that?" Kyana looked around, spotting five pirate ships headed their way. Cannonballs were flying toward them, some narrowly missing, while a lot slammed into their ship.
"Hold on!" Gwen shouted.
The ship rocked around, water splashing all around them. But again, no damage or harm was done to them. A barrier kept the cannonballs from causing destruction.
"Who the fuck is shooting at us?!" Amaya drew her sword and growled.
Gwen also took out her staff and prepared some spells. Sasha slapped her hammer into the ground, waiting to strike, while Kyana had leaped onto the crow’s nest to get a better line of sight to rain down arrows on the pirates shooting at them.
"There’s some coming from behind as well!" Nadya created a barrier to stop the pirates from getting closer to them.
"Ohhh great! It was probably that penut guy! He told his boss, and now they’re after us!" Cornelia shouted, drawing her sword.
"Look at their flags, though." Kyana pointed out. "They’re different pirates!"
Just then, Kai lept out of the water and landed back on the ship. "Guys! I have something to tell you-"
More cannonballs slammed into the ship. This time, it was from both sides.
"The fuck is going on? Who did you all piss off while I was gone?"
"We didn’t piss off anyone.’ Gwen rolled her eyes. "It was the penut guy."
"Oh, right. So now pirates are after us. But guys, listen to this. The Leviathan isn’t in the sea. I checked the entire sea floor, making sure I didn’t miss anything. But then, I felt vibrations travel beneath the water, presumably from these cannonballs, and I guess that started to appear?"
"...."
No one answered.
"Oh come on?! The Leviathan! The Leviathan started to appear."
The girls looked at each other with confusion.
"How can the creature not be under the sea, then appear under the sea?" Cornelia asked
"Because the Leviathan teleports to this place once activity starts to disrupt the sea floor. Do you know what this means?"
"No." They all admitted.
"This means that the Leviathan is the key to finding the hidden city because it’s from the hidden city! It’s guarding the entrance! Sort of."
"Then do we have to follow the Leviathan to find the hidden city? If so, then how do we do that?" Kyana asked.
Kai smirked. "Well, first, you have to let the leviathan come to you."
"YOU FUCKING BASTARDS! HOW DARE YOU KILL MY CREWMATES! I’LL FUCKING-"
A massive tentacle split the pirate ship completely in half, knocking men overboard and dragging some of them into the sea. Another tentacle did the same to the other ship behind Kai’s own, dragging them down below as well.
Then, the Leviathan tried to attack Kai’s ship, but the ship’s defenses blocked the attempt.
He smiled. "Gonna have to do better than that, buddy."
"It’s the Leviathan!"
"Kill it!"
"Shoot the tentacles!"
"I don’t wanna die! I don’t wanna die!"
"Help!"
"Kill the monster!"
"We’ll mine the ore after it’s dead!"
Then, the navy rushed into the scene as well, doing everything they could to stop the massive sea monster.
"Yeah, they’re all fucked." Kai said as he watched all the pirates and the navy try to kill the beast.
"Huh? Why? Can’t we take that creature on?" Amaya wondered
"I can. You all can’t. That creature has a mana stat of 600 thousand. No one here is surviving."
Just then, more tentacles stretched out of the water, destroying ships and drowning people left and right. Water started to bubble at the surface, then it started to rise. A massive wave threatened to crash down on the sea vessels, and everyone jumped overboard, but the water fell back into the sea, and what came out was a creature with the head of a dragon.
Kai couldn’t help but be fascinated. "So that’s what a leviathan looks like. A massive dragon with the body of a squid. Pretty gross combination, but still cool."
The leviathan had no wings, claws, or arms. It was a sea creature after all. The beast could fire highly concentrated beams of mana out of its mouth, though, completely decimating the ships around the sea.
It had forty tentacles that crushed ships with ease and dragged some under the water.
This was a beast as strong as a demon king.
"What in the fuck is that shit?!" Nadya backed away, getting comfort in Kai’s arms.
"I love it when you curse. It’s so hot." He kissed her cheek.
"Kai?! Are we supposed to fight that thing? You said it has a mana stat of 600K! That’s demon king type shit!" Kyana shouted in a panic.
"Don’t worry. We’ll be fine. I can take it on anyway. I have a mana stat of seven hundred thousaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand!" A tentacle had grabbed Kai and dragged him under the water.
