Chapter 183: Go Back Home

Chapter 183: Go Back Home

Bruce was going to stay in Pinecastle for three days. Hilla also applied to the professor in Pinecastle that she would complete the design at home and report to the professor on time every day.

When Hilla came out of the professor’s office, she didn’t go back to the hotel directly. Instead, she received a call from her roommate of the dormitory, asking her to go back and gather her things.

Hilla came out of the dormitory and soon saw a foreign man in a sports car at the school gate.

Under the light-brown hair, his blue eyes stared at her venomously. Jennings smiled at Hilla, as if he had been waiting for her for a long time. Hilla frowned slightly, knowing that he would do nothing good. "Darling, I have a hard time waiting for you."

Jennings’s eyes were very beautiful, and even kind of alluring under the sunlight. Hilla looked at him and sneered, "You choose to wait here yourself. It only proves that you are stupid."

Jennings was stunned, and then he became sullen.

How could he resign after having an arm and a leg broken?

"Darling, you are really special."

As soon as he finished, two strong foreign men jumped out of nowhere. Hilla could only reach their chests. They were strong and muscular. Each alone could beat two of her.

It was quite intimidating!

Hilla chuckled. She was not only special, but cunning.

When the two strong men pounced on her, Hilla quickly bent down and retreated, leaving the two men lost their target.

Noticing the scattered cobbles on the ground, she kicked them precisely in the men’s direction.

...

After a few consecutive hits, the two men fell on their knees as the stones hit their legs.

Hilla bent over and picked up another one. Before she could throw it away, she saw the car that had been parked in front of her suddenly drove away.

Jennings ran away without even caring about the two men who fell on the ground. The two men on the ground struggled for a while and found that they couldn’t stand

up. And when they finally stood up, Hilla had already got in the car.

When the two of them pounced on her again, she stepped on the accelerator and dashed away without looking back.

If she fought him head-on, she definitely wouldn’t be able to win. However, she found a way to run away.

In the hotel.

Shelly stood at the door of the bathroom with only a bath towel wrapped around her body. Her slim ivory legs were exposed in the air. The atmosphere became alluring.

"Mr. Anderson!"

Shelly’s voice was a little hoarse. She was a very intellectual woman, different from the vitality of Hilla, but had charm and beauty of another kind.

Bruce shifted his gaze away from the computer and looked towards the source of the voice. The next second, he frowned.

"My clothes got wet just now. I have to take a shower. Could you help me take a set of clothes from my room?"

Shelly finally found a reason to be alone with Bruce today, and Hilla was not here.

It was now or never.

She knew that she had messed up the Pinecastle branch. Although the responsibility was not solely on her, there had to be someone to shoulder it. After back home, she would definitely be dismissed.

She was already tired of being the head of the Pinecastle branch. There was a better position higher up waiting for her. Why shouldn’t she climb up the ladder and seize it?

"Who told you to come out like this?"

Bruce said coldly. Shelly probably didn’t want to stay in the Anderson Group anymore.

"Mr. Anderson, my clothes are wet."

"Then wear the wet clothes and get out."

"What!"

Shelly was stunned. She thought that she had not heard it clearly, or that she had not understood it. Bruce had asked her to get out of the room wearing wet clothes?

She had already taken off her clothes. How could a man be indifferent? Was her hint not obvious enough? Or was she not proactive enough?

Shelly bit her lips. Her long hair fell on one side of her shoulder. She looked at Bruce alluringly, and her snow-white feet with nails painted red stepped on the cold marble floor.

The gray marble counter set off the delicacy and tenderness of her feet.

Shelly got closer and closer to the man on the other side.

She placed his hands on his chest and her fingertips unwittingly played at her collarbones.

"Mr. Anderson, I..."

"Go away!"

Before Shelly approached, the man interrupted her coldly.

Shelly halted. She saw anger on Bruce’s face.

Bruce not only was unmoved by her seduction, but looked at her with... disgust?

"Mr. Anderson doesn’t like me?"

Shelly couldn’t believe it. She didn’t feel that she was inferior to Hilla, the little girl who was only in her early twenties.

Could it be that Bruce liked the younger ones?

Shelly felt sour and jealous in her heart. After years of professional training, she no longer had that innocence and purity which Hilla, who had just graduated, possessed.

Shelly made up her mind. Since she wanted to seize the opportunity today, it was impossible for her to retreat at the small obstacle.

The moment she pulled down the towel, she was covered by a blanket.

Then, she watched helplessly as the man suddenly appeared in front of her and wrapped her tightly in a blanket.

Shelly wanted to fall into Bruce’s arms, but she could not compete with the strength of a man.

Bruce was expressionless. Throughout the entire process, he did not show a trace of emotion or pity towards her. Instead, his actions were crude and quick.

He wrapped her up and dragged her to the door.

Shelly, who found out what her situation was in, suddenly panicked.

What a big joke she would make if she were thrown out the door wearing nothing but a blanket.

Shelly could be brave enough to strip herself naked in front of Bruce, but she couldn’t lose her face before others.

"Mr. Anderson, I will put on clothes. Don’t be like this."

She was no longer in the mood to seduce Bruce. Neither could she worry about the consequences awaiting her in the future. All she wanted now was to avoid the public shame.

She would rather be stuffed back into the bathroom by Bruce, let her put on her clothes, and then throw her out again.

However, Bruce did not budge to her request. He opened the door and thrown her into the corridor. The door was slammed in front of her with anger.

Shelly was unable to move being wrapped in the blanket, and she fell to the ground without support.

Before she could struggle, she saw a slim figure slowly walking towards her from not far away.

Hilla walked up to Shelly and looked down at her from above, looking like a noble queen. But her smile still looked so innocent.

Before Shelly could speak, Hilla had already curled his lips. Her voice was as clear as a nightingale, carrying a hint of undisguised joy.

"What, you stripped naked but still failed to seduce Bruce? How pitiful!"

...

Hilla’s voice wasn’t loud, but it was clear and melodious.

In this long and narrow passage, it sounded as sweet as a mountain spring, yet it hurt the listener ruthlessly.

Shelly was hurt by the stab, and her eyes widened with ferocity and anger.

"You can be smug now. All you have is but a young body. Bruce is so outstanding. He will never lack women to like him. I won’t be the last one. There are many women who are younger and more beautiful than you. Sooner or later, he will get tired of you and throw you out of the room like he did to me. Do you think you are really better than me?"

Shelly was so angry that she spoke incoherently. But with her hands and feet were wrapped in the quilt, any struggle might expose her naked body, making her even more miserable in front of Hilla.

If it was a year ago, Hilla might get angry at these words.

But now she just smiled indifferently. "There are indeed many women who are prettier, sexier, and smarter than me. Bruce has seen them before and still sees them now. However, I am still the only one who to be Mrs. Anderson."

The last sentence deeply stabbed Shelly in the heart.

A man like Bruce could have any kind of woman he wanted, but Hilla was actually the one and only girl he had loved.

That could only mean that Bruce loved Hilla, and only loved her.

This blatant showing off shattered the last evil curse in Shelly’s heart.

That man liked her and loved her, so that he would refuse other women who threw themselves at him, including herself who was thrown out when naked.

"But why you? How can such a man only have one woman by his side? How ridiculous. Just you wait. There will be a day..."

"There will come a day. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to see that day." Hilla interrupted Shelly. She crouched down slowly, still smiling brightly. The mole under her eyes rendered her smile particularly charming.

Shelly looked at Hilla who suddenly came so close to her and looked into her eyes.

For no reason, she had a bad feeling in front of this approaching young smiling face.

She... seemed to be afraid.

"I did not pay much attention to you at first. My man is so good. It’s normal for you to take a fancy to him. It’s imaginable for you to seduce him to bed and want to be his girlfriend, but..."

Hilla said slowly and then chuckled.

Her smile was alarmingly adorable.

With the silvery voice sounded in her ear, Shelly could see nothing but her extremely beautiful face.

Hilla pressed his lips against Shelly’s ear, her breath blowing away the ear locks.

If she was a man, this intimacy would only make people feel romantic.

And now, Shelly felt terrified.

"Unfortunately, I had run into some wild dogs today and almost get bitten. I’m not in a good mood, yet you try to seduce my man at such a time. You can like my man, but if you bump into me when you are playing tricks, you can’t blame me for having no mercy."

Hilla said, placing her hand on Shelly’s shoulder.

Despite the thick blanket, she could still accurately grab her shoulder. With a sweet smile, her hands groped to Shelly’s joints.

In the corridor, there was only the slight sound of bones dislocating.

Bruce had just thrown Shelly’s clothes into the trash can when he heard the door open.

He frowned, thinking that how could Shelly have the audacity to come in again.

When he saw the slender figure at the door, the coldness in Bruce’s eyes instantly disappeared and turned into tenderness.

He walked over and held Hilla in his arms from behind.

"You’re back!"

"Well, what is the caterpillar at the door?"

Hilla asked with a cold face. Bruce immediately alerted and explained, "She came for work, but she got her clothes wet in the bathroom. I was afraid that you would misunderstand, so I gave her the quilt and asked her to hurry back to her room. Have you bump into her?"

Bruce made light of it but Hilla rolled her eyes. She knew that he must have mixed lies with the reality, and he was brazen enough to affect frankness.

"Aren’t you tempted by the naked body?"

Hilla turned around. Her sharp gaze sweeping across Bruce like a scanner.

Bruce smiled, "I sent her out before she could take her clothes off. I really didn’t see anything."

"You sound quite regretful."

It was such a good opportunity. Hilla was not here, and Shelly took the initiative, yet Bruce claimed that he had not seen anything, Wasn’t that a pity?

Bruce smiled mischievously, and he lowered his head to whisper into Hilla’s ear, "If it’s a pity, are you going to compensate me?"

"Do you want me to call her back?"

"Not her. I am interested in you."

Hilla thought, "You shameless bastard."

Hilla pushed Bruce away and angrily went to pack her luggage. Bruce frowned and said, "What’s wrong? Are you angry?"

"I’m angry. Go back to River City, immediately!"

She didn’t want to stay in this place any longer. It was not as beautiful as her hometown, nor was it as comfortable as her home.

Bruce nodded, "I’ll change the tickets."

The original schedule was to leave tomorrow. Bruce called and sent James over in a rash.

God knows that he was about to take a bath and almost took off his pants when Mr. Anderson called in and he put on his pants and came over!

"Mr. Anderson, what should I do?"

Bruce was going back to River City, but the business here was not done yet, and he could not handle it alone in three days.

When Mr. Anderson was in a good mood, he was very understanding and said directly, "Finish it in a week. I don’t want to see Shelly again."

"Got it, Mr. Anderson."

<What happened? Why did Ms. Moore offend Bruce in just one day?

Shelly could have stayed in the Anderson Group even she had a bad performance here in the branch. But Mr. Anderson clearly showed in his eyes that he would not want to see Shelly in any place.

Shelly must have gone too far.>

Sitting on the plane back to the country, Hilla was a little unsettled.

She would soon come back home. It had been a long time. But now she thought about it, all seemed to happen in a blink of the eye. Her motherland seemed to remain the same, yet completely became different at the same time.

The moment the plane landed, Hilla was finally convinced that she was back.

Bruce brought her back to Lakeshore Center. Everything here looked the same as before she left. Hilla looked at the familiar sofa and curtains. For a moment, she was in a trance, and then tears welled up in her eyes.

She had a home again!
