Chapter 182: You Are So Sappy

Chapter 182: You Are So Sappy

Bruce frowned as he looked at Hilla be in a drunken fit.

Those "friends" who made her drunk must have bad intentions.

"There is not 1998 vintage."

"Then open the 1989 one."

Hilla chuckled and hugged Bruce’s arm. She looked up at him and said aggrievedly, "Let’s take off our clothes!"

She was hot!

Bruce was getting excited. He hesitated for a long while and then his gaze fell on Hilla’s collar. Just as he reached out his hand, Hilla suddenly stood up and raised her hands above her head. She stood straight and laughed, "Bruce, I’m the 89 vintage. Open me!"

She took herself as a bottle of wine!

Bruce, sitting on the bed, was stunned by Hilla.

"Hilla, you had drunk too much."

However, Hilla just doubled up with laughter and said, "I am the 89 vintage. Bruce, drink me!"

As expected, she really took herself as a bottle of wine. It was the first time he had seen Hilla getting drunk.

He felt a sense of helplessness.

"Hilla, behave yourself. Let’s take a shower and sleep."

"Come and drink me, drink me!"

Hilla jumped around the bed happily. Then, an idea flashed into her mind. He placed her hands on her head and turned to look at Bruce, "Do I look like a cute white bunny?"

Bruce’s expression changed. He pursed his lips tightly as he stared at Hilla and finally forced out two words, "No!"

"Lier! You are no longer my favorite carrot."

Hilla said in a huff, her face red.

It looked like that she wanted to pounce on the man in front of her and gnaw him like a carrot.

Bruce raised an eyebrow and deliberately slowed down his speaking pace, "You’re not a white bunny, but you’re indeed cute."

Hilla sitting at a corner of the bed blushed and revealed a shy smile. Her eyes

sparkled brightly.

She pouted and said, "You are so nice. I like you so much."

After so many repetitions tonight, he already knew that well.

Bruce patted the space next to him and waved to Hilla. He said softly as if he was coaxing a kitten or a puppy, "Don’t you like me? Come here."

"Will you drink me if I come?"

Hilla instantly turned back into a bottle of wine. Bruce had no choice but to pull Hilla over and drag her to the bathroom.

It was the most shameful thing for a drunken woman to seduce him.

He had to restrain his impulse. At least, he should wash her clean!

When Hilla woke up the next day, she had a massive hangover.

She looked around and realized that she had returned to the hotel. Hilla heaved a sigh of relief and recalled the situation yesterday.

She had not drunk very much, but she did not expect that the wine would be so strong. She could not remember what had happened after she got on the elevator.

Hilla knocked her head hard, trying to recall how she got back to the room after took the elevator.

It seemed that she had not gone to the wrong room.

Hilla took the water cup beside the bed and drank up the water in it.

The hangover was the most painful thing. Hilla kicked on her slippers and left the room in a daze, with a hand holding her forehead.

"Bruce, I have a headache!"

Hilla trudged out with her head low.

The living room fell into silence as the girl came out.

Everyone was stunned. One was James, who was almost fired by Hilla yesterday, and another was Bruce, who remained calm and composed.

As for the other two who came for a meeting, Bruce ignored them.

"You have a headache?"

Bruce immediately got up and pulled Hilla in his arms. He placed a large hand on her forehead to feel the temperature. After confirming that she neither had a cold or fever, he heaved a sigh of relief.

"I’ll get you a glass of milk."

Bruce’s voice was very tender, and it warmed her heart.

Hilla was about to nod, but when she opened her eyes and saw the others sitting on the sofa.

They all looked at her. Hilla immediately woke up from her sleep. She looked at the strangers in front of her in a daze. In addition to James, there was a middle-aged white man sitting among them.

Opposite James was a gorgeous oriental woman. She was very beautiful and wore delicate makeup. She sat just next to Bruce.

Hilla clearly felt the woman’s hostility when she looked at her.

What did that mean?

Before Hilla could react, Bruce thought she fell silent because of her headache and directly scooped her up, giving Hilla a fright.

She subconsciously clung to his neck and said nervously, "Others are here."

"If you have a headache, go back and rest. Pour a glass of milk and bring it in!"

James thought, "Didn’t you just say that you would pour for her?"

As an assistant, James thought the order was said to him and was reluctant.

Just as he was about to stand up, the woman opposite him suddenly said, "I’ll do it. It’s better to heat the milk for the headache."

Only then did James come back to his senses. He glanced at the woman, Shelly Moore. She was the head of the Pinecastle branch company. She was more or less responsible for this crisis.

According to Bruce’s usual style, after this time, she would probably be transferred back home.

And she would probably get a demotion.

She must be taking this opportunity to ingratiate herself with Mr. Anderson and his wife, in order to plead for leniency.

"Thank you, Ms. Moore."

James said politely. Shelly had already gotten up and walked towards the fridge.

The foreign man glanced at them and smiled. As a middle-aged man, he had clearly seen through their thoughts.

As soon as Hilla was placed on the bed by Bruce, she immediately curled up like a bear.

She obediently let Bruce cover her with the blanket, and then innocently said, "I didn’t know that you would be meeting in the living room."

She only heard someone talking in the living room and thought it was Bruce.

Bruce ignored her apology and placed his hands on her head and gave it a gentle rub, "Have you got any better?"

"I am a bit dizzy. It still hurts."

Hilla replied frankly. After all, she was honest.

"You should know better than drinking out with others."

Although Bruce was blaming her, his eyes were clearly filled with sympathy and worry.

Hilla said with an embarrassed smile, "I can’t refuse a friend’s party invitation. I will definitely be more careful next time."

She still wanted to have the next time?

She had refused to let him get on the bed for the whole night. He had slept on the sofa outside. Thinking about it now, he was still a little angry.

Hilla was waiting for Bruce to forgive her when someone knocked at the door. The beautiful woman stood there with a glass of milk and stared at her.

...

Bruce walked to the door and took the milk from Shelly. He said politely, "Thank you!"

"Mr. Anderson, is this young lady your sister?"

Shelly suddenly asked. Then, she held back her sharp look at Hilla and looked at Hilla with smiling eyes. "I’ve long heard that Margaret is beautiful, but I didn’t expect her to be so young."

She was not a middle-aged woman. Many girls today looked young. But Shelly deliberately said it out to remind her of the age gap between Bruce and her.

It was true that she looked like a graduate, while Bruce was much more mature.

"She is not my sister. She is my wife."

Bruce replied calmly. Shelly appeared to be surprised.

"Your wife? Isn’t Miss. Marley your girlfriend... I’m sorry. Please forget it."

She was clearly aware of their relationship, yet she pretended to mistake her for Margaret.

After being directly denied by Bruce, she still had a card up her sleeve. She used Riya to displease her.

No matter she knew Riya, she would be unhappy to hear about it, as most women did not like to hear about their husbands’ exes.

Hilla sneered in her heart. She didn’t expect that Bruce would bring her a ravel in love even during a business trip. Why didn’t she realize before that her husband was so sought-after among women?

Hilla thought, "There are so many men in this world, why she just falls for Bruce. Although it proves that she has very good taste, it is very shameful for her to play tricks on me. I will not resign."

"Hubby, my head hurts."

Hilla sat on the bed, deliberately said in a drawling voice like a spoiled child.

Bruce was stunned by her calling him ’hubby’. But soon he realized the reason, and could not resist putting on a smile. He walked to the bed, handed her the milk, and continued to rub her head.

Hilla drank up the milk obediently and said in a low voice, "I want you to sleep with me."

"Okay, I will stay here."

"It’s too noisy outside!" She complained pitifully.

Bruce did not even turn his head as he replied, "I asked them to move to another room."

Shelly was so angry that her face was almost distorted. She had never seen a man like Bruce who could be so patient and obedient to a woman.

No matter what the reason was, she was jealous.

This is the man for whom she had an unrequited love. Now, he loved a little girl. His affection could be sensed from his eyes and tone.

<How could a man like Bruce treat a woman so gently?

What magic did this woman have? How could she match up with him?>

Before Shelly could finish cursing in her heart, Bruce had already looked at her coldly and said in a deep voice, "Didn’t you hear me?"

Shelly was stunned. Deep down, she was still afraid of Bruce. Whether it was because she was his subordinate or because of the vibe he gave out.

"I’m sorry, Mr. Anderson. I was just thinking of the solution."

Bruce did not show any expression. He just repeated, "You guys leave first. Hilla needs to rest."

"But there are still a lot of things waiting for us to settle."

Shelly said anxiously. She didn’t believe that a man like Bruce would put down business for a woman. A man like him should take his career as the priority.

"Ms. Moore, are you going to make a decision for me?" Bruce’s voice became colder.

Shelly immediately realized that she was wrong.

"That’s not what I meant. I’ll leave now."

Shelly bit her lip. Before leaving, she couldn’t help but glance at Hilla on the bed.

As a woman, Shelly was crazily jealous of her.

How could she make Bruce so loyal to her? Other than being beautiful and young, it seems that Hilla had no more advantage over her.

Shelly reluctantly returned to the living room. James had already packed his things and was ready to return to his room to continue working.

It was obvious that he was prepared for this kind of progress.

When Mr. Anderson was with his wife, they would definitely be chased out.

Shelly looked at James, who was holding a document, and smiled coldly. "James is really considerate. No wonder the performance of the Anderson Group has declined in the past year and had such a big loophole."

James was stunned and said innocently, "Ms. Moore, you must be dizzy. The performance of the Anderson Group this year is twice as good as the previous years, and the loophole only appeared in the Pinecastle branch under your charge."

"You..."

Shelly was choked. She was so angry that she almost jumped up.

She glared at James, and then angrily picked up her notebook on the table and left.

James looked innocently at the middle-aged man opposite him. "Women are too scary."

The middle-aged man laughed. "It is the privilege of beautiful women."

Therefore, when she found that there was someone prettier than her, or even not as beautiful as her, but took away what she could not get, she was naturally jealous and angry.

James shrugged. "Women already have too many privileges."

As a man, he had lost his dignity!

When there was no more sounds coming from the living room, Hilla let go of Bruce’s arm and said coldly, "I don’t like this female subordinate of yours."

She said it so directly, without any intention to euphemize or cover up.

But she is Bruce’s wife, and she had such privilege.

Bruce replied with an ’Oh’. Seeing that he had no other reaction, Hilla said angrily, "She seduced you!"

"No."

Bruce immediately denied it. He loved her so much, how could he be seduced by others? Besides, he had never paid attention to Shelly besides her work performance. Even if she had tried to seduce him, he would not be aware.

Even if she had, he did not pay her any attention!

"It had never happened in the past, and does not happen now."

"No."

Bruce quickly explained. He was not guilty. Just now, he had only glared at Shelly.

He had no feelings towards her.

Hilla was still angry, "If she had not done so now, she will do so in the future."

She was a woman. The way Shelly looked at her and the words she said all told her the truth. Hilla was young, but she was not stupid.

How could she not understand Shelly’s intention?

Even if that woman had not put it into action, she definitely had been interested in him.

She was determined to kill the threat in the cradle.

If Shelly had done nothing outrageous before, she would have no opportunity in the future!

Bruce chuckled, "Are you jealous?"

Hilla stared directly at Bruce and said frankly, "Yes, you are my husband. She can’t like my husband. I don’t agree."

Seeing her expression, Bruce said in a good mood, "What do you want to do?"

Hilla frowned and stared at Bruce. She suddenly narrowed her eyes and leaned close to him. "You seem to be very proud."

Bruce nodded. He held Hilla’s fingers and rubbed them lovingly, then placed them to his lips and kissed them. "You get jealous for me, which means, you love me. Of course, I should be proud."

Hilla looked at Bruce and felt goosebumps all over her body, "You are so sappy!"
