Chapter 231: Chapter 231: Silas’s Dark History-1
Though she and Silas had gone to the same university, their majors were different, and hence she asked,
"Since you and Silas were close, I want to know... what was he like in university? I know his usual self, but what was he like to you guys? We studied in the same place, but our majors were different. He knew people I had never met."
Silas froze, his eyes widening. He turned toward her with mechanical movement and called out softly, the kind that was filled with pleading. "Ivy..."
Ronak’s eyes with a wicked glint. He knew this was his chance for revenge!
"The night is young. If you want to know, you must become my guest. Sit, and I will tell you stories of your husband’s glory days."
Ivy’s eyes sparkled. Without hesitation, she sat down eagerly.
Silas covered his face with one hand and shook his head. "We really shouldn’t talk about this."
Ronak ignored him. "At least let her know about your craziness back then."
Silas narrowed his eyes dangerously. "If you dare, I will tell your husband about those secret affairs you had before him."
Ronak burst out laughing. "You still hold that over me?"
At that moment, Ivy perked up.
Her eyes widened, shining like a child discovering candy.
"You have a husband?" Her voice was filled with excitement.
Ronak raised an eyebrow, amused.
"Yes. Drake is his name. He’s resting right now; a headache kept him in bed. But I’ll introduce you when he wakes."
Ivy’s heart beat fast with excitement.
’Oh my god! Oh my god! A real BL couple in front of me! And they’re so open about it too! I want to meet Drake and hear their love story.’ She had to calm herself down before she squealed out loud.
(A/n: This reaction is inspired by the inner desire of the author!)
Ronak soon brought out a plate of food.
A bowl of rice, steamed vegetables, and a small bowl of soup.
Ivy and Silas exchanged a look of silent understanding.
In the apocalypse, this was already a treasure, more than most could dream of.
But Ronak didn’t stop there. He brought more dishes, even meat. It was clear he had dipped into his personal supplies to host them.
Ivy felt warmth in her chest. ’He is truly sincere. He values Silas’s friendship.’
Silas’s expression softened too, though he hid it quickly.
After setting the food down, Ronak leaned back and smirked at Ivy.
"Now, where should I begin? Ah, yes, it was during Valentine’s week. Do you remember the rule about clothes? White meant you were open to relationships, black meant no, and red meant you were already taken. And your dear husband... he panicked."
Ivy blinked, then tilted her head. "Panicked? Why?"
Ronak laughed.
"Because he was terrified someone else would confess to you. So he secretly asked someone to spill something on your dress, just so you’d have to change. He made sure you wore red instead."
Silas groaned, leaping toward Ronak’s direction to stop him. "Ronak, stop."
Disbelief wasn’t the only emotion Ivy felt.
Silas, who acted calm and composed in front of her time and time again ... had orchestrated such a plan!
She held her stomach as if she couldn’t believe what she was hearing.
"So that juice stain... it was you, Silas?"
Silas groaned, turning his head away like a guilty child. His long, thick lashes lowered as he muttered, "Ivy...I... I.."
Ivy interrupted him as she reminisced.
"I actually remember that day. Someone spilled juice on my white dress, and I had no choice but to change into a red one. At that time, I didn’t think too much of it. But then..."
Heat rushed to Ivy’s cheek, and the sound of her rapid heartbeat pulsed in her own ears.
"There was a rumor. People said my dress color matched yours exactly. For a moment, it looked like we were already a couple."
A soft light flashed in Ivy’s eyes.
"I was secretly thrilled back then. I thought... maybe it was fate. But I never knew you planned it."
Silas closed his eyes with a pained sigh.
His fingers pinched the bridge of his nose.
’Why is she saying this out loud... why is she smiling like that? I feel like I will die of embarrassment.’
He mistook the sweet smile on Ivy’s face as a teasing one.
Ronak, meanwhile, had slipped behind Ivy, easily dodging Silas’s hand.
He peeked out from behind her shoulder, chuckling like a mischievous child. "It was not only that. There’s more, Ivy."
Silas’s eyes shot open. His voice was filled with unsaid warning. "Ronak. If you dare say a single word, I will find Drake right now."
Ronak immediately put on a pitiful expression, his almond eyes glistening.
He clutched his chest as if wounded. "See, Ivy? He’s threatening me! Won’t you protect me from this cruel man?"
Ivy turned to Silas, her eyes carried a hint of warning. Her melodious voice uttered cruel words with innocence, "You shouldn’t threaten him."
For a brief moment, a flicker of disbelief flashed in Silas’s eyes. "You... you’re taking his side?"
Ivy nodded with a serious expression, her words merciless. "Yes. And I’m extending your punishment for a few more weeks."
Though she didn’t mention what punishment she was talking about, how can Silas not know?
Silas’s jaw dropped. His whole body slumped as if his soul had just floated out of him. "Ivy... please. Not more weeks..."
The tension in the room dissipated as Silas pleaded.
"Fine! I won’t stop him. I won’t go near Drake either. Just... reduce it a little, please."
Ivy pretended to give a reluctant reconsideration. Finally, she nodded. "Alright. Just one week then."
Silas still felt bitter, his lips pressed into a thin line.
’Ronak, I swear I’ll make you pay for this. Whatever I am going to suffer, you will suffer tenfold if not a hundred!’ His blue eyes glinted with suppressed danger.
Ronak, completely unaware of Silas’s dark vow, looked smug as he returned to his seat.
In his heart, he cheered. ’Having a sister-in-law’s protection is amazing. I should have done this a long time ago.’
