Chapter 1555: Chapter 1555: Amulet
Isn’t it just writing some words on a piece of yellow paper?
She can write too.
But what should she write?
Cherry bit the pen, thinking hard.
After a while, she finally made up her mind and started writing!
She wrote about ten in one go.
Looking at them in her hand, she felt they weren’t smooth enough, so she wrote another ten. She spent the whole afternoon tinkering in the study, filling the room with yellow paper.
When Gavin Graves walked in, one sheet floated down right at his feet. He picked it up and glanced at it, "What’s this?"
"An amulet!" Cherry’s voice was full of ambition.
She had written over a hundred sheets, now she was picking and choosing through them, trying to select the ones she was satisfied with to give away.
Gavin Graves helped her pick.
Cherry’s eyes sparkled as she asked him, "Can you tell what I’ve written?"
"Yeah." Gavin Graves nodded, a smile on his lips, "You wrote the word ’Tang’."
He found it amusing too; who writes their own name on an amulet? Usually, it should be a blessing or some spell, and if nothing else, writing ’the Jade Emperor manifests’ sounds more reliable than one’s name, right?
Cherry looked disappointed, "What? How did you figure it out? Amulets are supposed to be written in a way that no one can understand!"
Gavin Graves patted her head, "Don’t worry, others won’t recognize it."
Only I do; all other words I might not know, but this one, I certainly do.
"Hmph, I don’t believe it!" Cherry randomly picked one, ran out, and asked the servant.
Sure enough, the servant couldn’t recognize it.
Cherry was satisfied, came back happily, and picked out a portion from the pile of yellow paper, folding them into triangles in the form of amulets.
The next day she called Lester Williams, generously giving him the stack of amulets.
Lester Williams was a bit puzzled, "This is..."
"Amulets for you all." Cherry said with a bright smile, "Pick one for yourself, and give the rest to others!"
Lester Williams pondered for a moment and asked her cautiously, "Are these for protection too?"
"Hmm... sort of!" Cherry replied, "These have a bit of evil spirits written, only a little, it won’t affect you guys much, but common evil beings will be scared and automatically retreat when encountered."
Lester Williams quickly collected the amulets, thanking continuously!
This stuff is so practical! For people like them, after going through countless battles and fights, they inevitably fear ghosts knocking at their doors at night.
Seeing him happy, Cherry couldn’t resist reminding, "But not every time does it work, if encountering a stronger evil god, it becomes mere paper."
After saying that, she muttered thoughtfully to herself, "But... finding something more powerful than me might be difficult, right?"
...
Cherry’s amulets got unanimous praise from the crowd at Graves Corporation, receiving widespread and enthusiastic welcome.
Not long after, Lester Williams returned, subtly asking Cherry if there were any extra amulets.
With her calligraphy talent acknowledged, Cherry was delighted. With a wave of her hand, full of spirit, she said, "No worries! Everyone gets one!"
Isn’t it just writing words?
Writing this is more satisfying than copying scriptures!
Cherry wrote energetically, with grand style, crafting another fifty or sixty, folded and handed them to Lester Williams.
After some time, Gavin Graves noticed almost everyone around him had a Cherry-branded amulet.
Even the servant sweeping the floor at home had one!
In the evening, Gavin Graves returned home, hesitantly speaking to Cherry, "About that amulet of yours..."
Before he finished speaking, Cherry waved her hands repeatedly, "No more, no more! Go ask someone else, I’m sick of writing them!"
Gavin Graves, holding back his temper, dragged her over, "You wrote almost a hundred for others but not one for me!"
Cherry’s eyes rolled, "Uh, uh, uh... then wait a moment."
She got up, ran into the dressing room, and shortly returned, wrapped in a yellow scarf, bouncing over and pressing her head against his chest—
"Here, the largest amulet!"
