Capítulo 1563: Chapter 1563: Password
That night, Cherry had a good sleep.
At the break of dawn, she opened her eyes, feeling refreshed and not like the usual fatigue despite having slept for a long time.
The pillow beside her was empty, Gavin Graves wasn’t by her side, and his voice faintly drifted from outside the door.
How strange, why was Gavin up so early?
Cherry got out of bed, slipped on her slippers, and got ready to find him. Just as she reached the door, she saw the dagger in his hand through the partially open door.
She was stunned.
Then, with a hint of disbelief, she closed her eyes and opened them again…
No mistake, that was her dagger!
…
Gavin, holding the dagger, said to Hunter Dalton, “Thanks for today.”
“It’s no big deal, sir, you’re too kind. Just be sure to keep the dagger safe. If trouble arises in the future, it might come in handy. Dealing with evil spirits is inherently sinister, and dispelling malevolence isn’t something that can be done overnight. Going to the mountains to cultivate will take three to five years, let alone resolving the many distractions in this mundane world; it’s even more difficult.”
Gavin nodded to express his thanks and had someone send Hunter Dalton back.
A slight sound came from the room, Gavin paused for a moment, then turned to gently push the door open. Cherry was lying sideways on the bed, sound asleep; it must have been the noise from her turning over.
Looking at her sleeping figure, Gavin couldn’t help but smile slightly, gently touched her cheek, and then left the bedroom with the knife.
Cherry opened her eyes, her gaze flickering, lost in thought…
…
Although the ritual was completed, Gavin was still a little uneasy, so he didn’t go to the company that day and stayed home with Cherry, handling work in the study.
Cherry squeezed into the study with him, brought her own pen and paper, and spread them out at the other end of his desk, starting to copy scriptures.
She copied absentmindedly, with plenty of mistakes, managing to get half of them wrong if there were ten characters.
Gavin teased her, “After copying scriptures for so long, you’ve never written one smoothly from start to finish.”
Cherry huffed and tossed the pen aside, “It’s because the pen isn’t good! The paper isn’t either! You go get new ones for me!”
Gavin looked at her with a laugh, “What kind of pen and paper should I get to make them good ones?”
She thought for a moment and beamed, “Once you get the pen and paper, give them a kiss! Then they’ll work better!”
Gavin truly felt helpless and tapped her forehead with a curled finger, “If you find the ink doesn’t work later, do I have to eat the ink too?”
“Are you going to get them or not…” Cherry switched to her coy mode.
“I will, I’ll go right now.” Gavin got up, left the study, and went to the room where Cherry usually copied scriptures to fetch new paper and pen.
Once the sound of footsteps faded away, Cherry immediately ran to the safe, crouched down, and tugged at the door but didn’t move it an inch. After a careful study, she found that there were three ways to open the safe: password, fingerprint, and key.
She tried two random passwords, but both were invalid.
As she was racking her brain thinking about which number Gavin might use as the password, he had already come back to the study—
Seeing Cherry fiddling with his safe, Gavin was a bit taken aback, then he laughed, “Being mischievous again?”
Cherry turned to look at him, completely unflustered, with a look of grievance, “Why won’t it open?”
“If it could be opened easily, would it still be called a safe?” Gavin said, amused.
Cherry pouted, “Of course I know it’s a safe, but I tried many numbers, none of them worked; your birthday and your credit card number ending digits, none worked!”
“Using a birthday as a password is just asking for it to be cracked, isn’t it?”
“Your password surely is an ex-girlfriend’s birthday!”
He was amused and helpless, “Alright, stop messing around.”
Cherry pouted and walked back, downcast, “It must be an ex-girlfriend’s birthday… You don’t love me; male protagonists in TV dramas all use their beloved’s birthday as passwords.”
