Chapter 1570: Chapter 1570: I Am Also a Victim

Aria Jackson rubbed her fingertip over the spot, bringing it close to her nose for a subtle sniff, murmuring, "It smells like super glue."

"What’s up with super glue?" Cherry asked, puzzled.

Aria remained silent, crouching on the floor in deep thought. After a moment, she glanced around as if searching for something.

Cherry, curious, also began looking around, confused.

Gavin Graves held her back, signaling her not to disturb Aria.

Aria, however, turned and walked decisively away, heading straight back to the living room, retrieving the cut rope knots from the trash can in the corner—

Cherry widened her eyes and exclaimed, "Aren’t you bothered by how dirty it is?!"

Several loose rope knots were pulled out and placed in clusters on the marble floor. Aria painstakingly stretched each rope out to facilitate examining the texture.

"Do you see?" She pointed to a few, "Someone applied super glue on these ropes."

Once dried, the glue had left a mottled white residue on the gray-yellow surface of the ropes.

Cherry stared blankly, still not understanding.

Aria put her own hands behind her back, demonstrating, "Normally, it’s impossible for a person to tie themselves up in this position. Yesterday, when we arrived, Ruth Frazer’s hands and feet were bound, lying on the floor, with all doors and windows open at home. According to her, it was during a conflict with Moissanite that he forcibly tied her up, but—"

She picked up a broken piece of rope, wrapped it around her wrist, and continued, "Is it possible that Ruth tied herself up?"

Gavin Graves spoke in a low voice, "Although you can’t tie a dead knot with your hands behind your back, you can easily wrap a couple of loops. As long as the hands are kept tightly together and the rope is soaked with super glue, at first glance, it looks like someone else tied them."

"Exactly, as soon as we entered, we immediately cut the rope with a knife to free her, without specifically checking the binding method." Aria scanned the surroundings, her voice eerie, "If she really used this method, there should be some leftover super glue nearby."

Aria called the officers in the room, "Search around, look for anything like super glue or suspicious containers. Report back any findings, and be vigilant for danger."

A few officers responded and left. Soon, they made a discovery.

In the bushes outside the living room window, they found a small bottle with super glue residue.

If it weren’t for Aria connecting the dots, even if the bottle was found, it would be treated as regular trash, with little chance of linking it to the kidnapping case.

Aria smiled.

Her superiors kept stressing the need for evidence, for evidence. Without it, she had nothing to show, but with this, at least it could prove Ruth Frazer orchestrated a self-directed performance, making her highly suspect!

Ruth Frazer was invited to the living room and seated.

On the coffee table lay the rope knots and the bottle of super glue.

She dared not look directly at these things, her lips pressed tightly, her face alternating between pale and ashen.

"Your hands probably got some of it too, right?" Aria watched her with a smile, "This stuff is hard to wash off, even if you scrub, there might be some residue on the skin surface. Would you like to go with me to the lab for testing?"

Ruth lowered her head, unnaturally gripping her wrist, trying to pull her sleeve down to cover it.

Aria wasn’t in a hurry; she was feeling particularly good, patiently waiting for Ruth to voluntarily confess.

After a long silence, Ruth finally spoke, "I was afraid you all would think I’m the perpetrator, so... I wanted to clear my suspicion this way, but those people were really taken by Moissanite! It has nothing to do with me!"

She said this, her emotions suddenly collapsing, and she covered her face, weeping bitterly, "I’m a victim too! The whole situation really has nothing to do with me!"
