Chapter 1577: 1577: My Wife, Jasmine Yale

Chapter 1577: Chapter 1577: My Wife, Jasmine Yale

The doctor had been waiting in the medical office for Sylvan Cheney and Jasmine Yale.

Jasmine Yale nervously clutched Sylvan Cheney’s hand, her palm sweaty. “I’m scared.”

“Don’t be. I’m here.”

Jasmine’s eyes reddened. If only he had been here a few years ago… How wonderful that would have been.

Her hands trembled.

She still remembered the moment she was pinned down on the operating table, the only person she could think of in her heart was Sylvan Cheney.

But at that time, he hadn’t contacted her for a full seven months.

Seven months… She had faced suspension from school, morning sickness, sleepless nights, constant caution, and even scorn—all alone.

Especially when she came to the obstetrics and gynecology department for checkups, seeing pregnant women accompanied by someone, she would often smile foolishly, a smile tinged with envy.

Thinking of this, Jasmine’s hand turned icy, and her pupils seemed to lose focus.

Her small hand was enveloped in Sylvan Cheney’s palm, and he could feel the changes in her body.

“Sylvan Cheney, will you always be by my side whenever I’m helpless in the future?” Jasmine raised her head, her eyes as clear as autumn waters.

She was afraid of that feeling.

That feeling of utter helplessness—calling out to the heavens with no answer, crying out to the earth in vain.

She didn’t want to relive it ever again.

“I will.”

Hearing his response, she felt content, and her lips curved slightly upward.

Sylvan could roughly guess what she was thinking. His large hand gently stroked her hair as he bent down to kiss her forehead.

The warm, moist kiss trailed from her forehead to her cheek, then shifted to the edge of her earlobe.

At that moment, the door to the medical office opened.

Sylvan released Jasmine and cleared his throat softly.

A female doctor in her fifties or sixties adjusted her glasses before turning back inside. “I forgot my mask. Let me find it…”

Jasmine looked mortified, her cheeks flushed crimson.

Sylvan took her hand and led her into the office, closing the door behind him.

“Aunt May,” Sylvan greeted.

The female doctor straightened up, glanced at Sylvan, then shifted her gaze to Jasmine.

“Let me introduce you,” Sylvan said. “Jasmine, this is your doctor and one of my mother’s old friends. I usually call her ‘Aunt May,’ and you can do the same.”

Jasmine quickly greeted her, “Hello, Aunt May.”

She tried to withdraw her hand from Sylvan’s grasp, but Sylvan held on tightly, almost as if he were doing it on purpose.

The woman in front of her looked well-maintained, clad in a lab coat, with a demeanor that was both serious and amiable.

Sylvan had never taken the initiative to introduce her to any of his elders before. This Aunt May was the first.

“Such a lovely young lady—where did you trick her from?” Aunt May cast Sylvan a sidelong glance.

“…” Sylvan cleared his throat. “In Aunt May’s eyes, I need to trick someone to have a wife?”

“Well, of course. A girl this lovely—if you didn’t trick her, how else would you bring her home?”

Sylvan: “…”

“Tell me more about her.” Aunt May’s gaze swept over Jasmine a few more times.

The young woman had flawless skin—soft, fair, and delicate, as if it would shatter at the slightest touch. Her features were refined, her lips rosy, her teeth pearly white, and her overall appearance dignified.

Aunt May couldn’t help but steal a few more glances at Jasmine.

“My wife, Jasmine Yale.” Sylvan continued to hold onto Jasmine’s hand without letting go.

Jasmine froze, lifting her eyes to look at him, her gaze filled with disbelief and astonishment.

Did he just say… wife?

Her heart began to beat wildly, “thump, thump,” as if it were about to leap out of her chest. This flurry of emotion felt just like the first time she had fallen for Sylvan Cheney—brimming with joy and exhilaration.

It was as though every cell in her body was coursing with sweetness.

This feeling—so wonderfully inexplicable.
