Chapter 1571: Chapter 1571: This is, is the first time
Seeing Lilac Serval slightly upset, little Timmy panicked for a moment and hurriedly explained, “Sister Lilac, I’ve been studying seriously. I only come to this hotel once a week, but I can make a lot of money each time I come—enough for six months. This way, it won’t interfere with my studies, and I can still earn money. By the time I graduate, I’ll have saved a lot.”
That’s how he had planned it all out.
Looking at little Timmy’s innocent gaze, Lilac Serval felt a lump in her throat.
Suddenly, she felt like crying.
She had been this naive when she was a teenager.
Back then, she believed earnestly that as long as she worked hard, she could have whatever she wanted.
Later, she came to realize that being a teenager was great—at least teenagers could afford to be naive.
“Sister Lilac, don’t be angry. If you’re upset, I’ll tell the supervisor right away, and I won’t come here anymore.” Little Timmy was deeply afraid she’d be unhappy. He just wanted her to be cheerful. “I promise I’ll study hard.”
“I’m just worried you might suffer a loss being alone in a place like this. It’s too remote and unsafe,” she said.
“Don’t worry, this hotel’s not bad.” Little Timmy remained as innocent as ever, oblivious to how cruel the world could be.
“Even though the pay here is high, it’s truly not suitable for you. Don’t come here again. Find a simpler part-time job—tutoring’s good, handing out flyers is fine too—but stay away from places like this,” Lilac Serval said. “What did I always tell you? When you’re at school, you should act like a student. Jobs at bars, hotels, or nightclubs aren’t right for you.”
“Got it,” he replied.
He always listened to Lilac Serval. Whatever she told him, he’d obediently follow.
“Focus on your studies. There will be opportunities to earn money in the future. Missing one or two days won’t matter,” Lilac Serval continued. “Come on, I’ll take you home.”
“Alright, I’ll go resign with the supervisor,” Timmy said.
Lilac Serval nodded.
Without hesitation, little Timmy obediently headed toward the sales department.
Lilac Serval walked out toward the hotel lobby.
Today’s weather had been lovely during the day, and at night, the stars were stunning.
Since they were in the countryside, the stars here seemed exceptionally bright, twinkling as if they could speak.
The breeze swept over her body, carrying a chill.
Her car was parked on an open lot not far away.
The hotel was brightly lit. She stood there silently, feeling the wind but not much else.
The Landon night sky was different from Lonton’s. How was it different? She couldn’t quite put it into words.
In this unfamiliar city, the only person who could bring her joy and comfort was little Timmy.
Suddenly, a scarf fell gently around her neck.
Lilac Serval turned abruptly.
Little Timmy smiled shyly. This was his first time wrapping a scarf around a girl. Embarrassed, he scratched his head. “Sister Lilac, it’s cold outside—don’t let your neck freeze.”
“Thank you. You’re so thoughtful,” she said.
He would buy her breakfast, keep her company for chats, and now he’d even wrap a scarf around her.
She’d never been a greedy person. Having someone who showed her kindness was enough.
She had grown up without parents and knew that even the slightest kindness would make her give her whole heart in return.
“I—I haven’t wrapped a scarf for other girls,” little Timmy stammered bashfully, scratching his head. “This is—this is the first time.”
Lilac Serval looked at his endearing face and smiled.
“Sister Lilac, don’t dislike this scarf… Even though, even though I’ve worn it before.”
“It’s fine. I like it a lot,” Lilac Serval said, her smile radiant.
Little Timmy secretly glanced up at her. It felt as though he was looking at the dazzling morning sun—so beautiful.
More beautiful than the stars in the sky.
