Chapter 1025:

Ye Chen was locked in the interrogation room at the police station, with his hands cuffed behind his back. Such a position would be very uncomfortable for an ordinary person, but for Ye Chen, it caused no discomfort. However, Ye Chen still showed a very uncomfortable expression and said to the interrogating officer, "Hey, when are you going to let me go?"

"You want to leave?" The interrogating officer looked at Ye Chen in surprise, then flashed a mischievous smile and said, "If you want to leave, it’s easy. Just sign a name on this interrogation record and put a fingerprint, then you can go!"

"Really?" Ye Chen asked with a smile.

"Of course, would the police lie?" The officer responsible for the interrogation cheerfully looked at Ye Chen and then said, "Don’t worry, as long as you sign your name and press a fingerprint, I guarantee you can leave immediately."

The expression was like Big Big Wolf telling Pleasant Goat to hurry into his pot, promising not to eat them, just wanting to smell the scent of mutton. Ye Chen couldn’t possibly not know that this guy was fooling him, but Ye Chen didn’t care, he nodded and said, "Okay, I’m willing to sign and put my fingerprint!"

The officer in charge of the interrogation was very happy to hear that and hurriedly placed the interrogation notes and some documents in front of Ye Chen, then unlocked his handcuffs and laughed, "Go ahead, sign your name and you can leave here!"

Ye Chen quickly scribbled his name, then dipped his finger in the ink pad and pressed his fingerprint. The officer holding the document smiled and said, "Finally done, damn it, it was that simple!"

"Can I leave now?" Of course, Ye Chen didn’t expect this guy to let him go, jokingly, he was Chen Facai’s arch-enemy. Chen Facai had been severely beaten by him before, how could he easily be allowed to leave? The reason this guy promised to let him go was entirely because he wanted to complete his mission.

"Leave? Sure!" The officer immediately opened the door to the holding cell and then smiled, "Go ahead."

"Aren’t you letting me leave?" Ye Chen feigned surprise.

"Haha, what kind of international joke is that!" The interrogating officer laughed out loud and then said, "Who can leave this place? Even if you came here without committing a crime, you’d have to peel three layers of skin to get out!"

"So, you were just lying to me, huh?" Ye Chen gave the officer a sideways glance.

"Exactly!" The officer nodded and smiled, "Of course I was lying to you, so what?"

"What I hate most is being lied to!" Ye Chen’s expression suddenly became serious, he gritted his teeth and said, "You can trick me, but don’t deceive my feelings!"

As Ye Chen spoke, he lunged forward at the officer, fists clenched tightly, and smashed them into the officer’s face, nearly shattering it with the force.

"Ah!" The officer screamed in agony, alerting the officers outside, who rushed in with their guns, ready for battle. Ye Chen, at this moment, stepped on the officer, sitting himself firmly in a chair with an assured attitude. He scanned around at the officers who entered and asked, "What are you doing?"

"Ye Chen, you’re too arrogant!" Chen Facai gritted his teeth and said, "Are you truly not afraid of death?"

"I’ve always said, in my dictionary there’s no fear of death!" Ye Chen smirked coldly.

"I’m telling you, this is the police station, the Emperor’s police station!" Chen Facai said angrily.

"Throughout history, evil does not prevail over good, I don’t believe a bunch of bastards like you can do whatever you want in Beijing City!" Ye Chen stood up from the chair and walked into the holding cell. Chen Facai watched Ye Chen’s back curiously, somewhat disbelieving Ye Chen could just easily walk into the holding cell, doesn’t he know what will happen once he’s inside?

Unable to comprehend, Chen Facai simply chose not to think about it. He smirked coldly and said, "Someone come, serve him well."

"Yes!" A few of Chen Facai’s underlings immediately accepted the order and left. These underlings were eager to please Chen Facai and likely would torment Ye Chen ruthlessly. Chen Facai, after all, was the director of the Beijing Xicheng Police Station, holding a position in the entire Beijing City. If one wanted to climb up the ranks, they must please Chen Facai, that’s the shortcut to promotion.

Chen Facai glanced at his underlings then said, "Be sure not to hold back, if I find out, I’ll make you shed a layer of skin!"

"Chief, don’t worry, we’ll definitely take good care of him!" The henchmen, after hearing Chen Facai’s words, naturally didn’t dare slack off. Even if they wanted to be lazy, they were absolutely not in a relaxed mood.

Ye Chen was put into the detention room, and before long, a few police officers came to find Ye Chen under the guise of interrogation. Ye Chen felt it was very strange but said nothing; after all, it was part of the normal interrogation procedure, and they had the paperwork for it, so there was nothing more to say.

After coming out of the detention room, Ye Chen immediately noticed the anomaly. The place they were taking him was not the interrogation room from before; they were heading somewhere different. Ye Chen curiously asked, "Aren’t we going to the interrogation room? Why aren’t we going there?"

"Shut up! We know better than you what to do!" The crooked-cap cop glared at Ye Chen, seemingly annoyed by his talkativeness. Ye Chen frowned and said, "What? Even though I’m a suspect, at least I have human rights, don’t I? Even a murderer is entitled to legal protection of his rights. Moreover, I haven’t been convicted; I might be released tomorrow. Don’t I have a right to know?"

"Tsk tsk, you can really talk, can’t you?" The crooked-cap cop turned to look at Ye Chen, grinned, and said, "Once we get there, I want to see just how much you can talk!"

While speaking, the cop swung his baton hard at Ye Chen, delivering a shock of a hundred thousand volts. The electric current surged through Ye Chen, yet he showed no reaction. The crooked-cap cop was a bit surprised. Was the baton broken? Why was there no reaction from this guy? No joke, a baton with a hundred thousand volts could seriously injure or kill an ordinary person, yet this guy was standing there steadily, not even his hair standing up.

The crooked-cap cop was puzzled. He touched the end of the high-voltage baton and pressed the short circuit button.

Crackle, crackle...

A flash of blue light, and the crooked-cap cop instantly fell to the ground, twitching continuously on the floor.

"Officer Zhao." The other cops hurriedly rushed over. As soon as they touched the crooked-cap cop, they instantly felt a stabbing pain, forcing them to retreat repeatedly. They had to stand aside, calling out. Unfortunately, after falling down, that crooked-cap cop kept foaming at the mouth, his eyes rolling back, his whole body twitching. Ye Chen curled a slight smile and said, "This is what they call reaping what you sow!"

"You punk, why are you unharmed!" The nearby officer immediately blamed Ye Chen.

"Lao Liu, it must be this punk’s doing!" One cop pointed at Ye Chen.

"It’s possible!" The cop called Lao Liu nodded immediately.

They didn’t dare approach Ye Chen. Everyone knew Ye Chen had some skills; they’d heard about how Ye Chen single-handedly challenged General Niu. They internally regarded Ye Chen as quite the expert. But since their superiors wanted Ye Chen dead, they had no choice but to follow their orders.

Whoever pays your salary, you listen to. That’s the Chinese characteristic.

"Boys, hurry and get Officer Zhao up!" Lao Liu hurriedly went forward to support him. By then, the current in the crooked-cap cop’s body had mostly dissipated, so when they helped him up, there was no problem. When they got the crooked-cap cop back on his feet, he slowly came to his senses. This was not the first time he’d been shocked by a baton, so his resistance to it was quite strong. Hence, his coming around was not surprising.

Once conscious, his mouth was a bit crooked, and his body twitched occasionally. He mumbled, "Damn... damn... damn bastard! I... I swear I’m going to put an end to you. If... if I don’t, my last name isn’t Liu!"

"Officer Zhao, your last name isn’t Liu to begin with!" Lao Liu hurriedly reminded him.

"Damn, I know!" The crooked-cap cop glared at Lao Liu, seemingly annoyed at his interruption, then pointed at Ye Chen, angrily barking, "I... I swear if I don’t finish you... I... my last name’s not Zhao... Zhao!"

He took several minutes to finish the sentence, making it almost exhausting to listen to. Who knew the side effects of electricity could be this severe?

Ye Chen smiled calmly, then patted his chest and said, "Alright, if you’ve got what it takes, strike here with the baton!"

"Damn, I know you’re not afraid of electricity!" The crooked-cap cop gasped for breath and said, "Bro... brothers, take this... this bastard... into the interrogation room. I... I swear I’m not convinced I can’t finish him!"

"Heh heh, alright!" Everyone nodded immediately.

Then, they continued to escort Ye Chen forward. After walking for about several hundred meters, they entered a dark small room. The crooked-cap cop turned on the light, revealing various instruments of criminal law in front of Ye Chen, which left him very puzzled. Didn’t the state repeatedly order the prohibition of torture during interrogations? How come there were so many dangerous devices in the police station right under the Emperor’s nose?
