Chapter 257: Chapter 256: For Anitaqing - Immortal Flower Fate + Update 25

Shi Yang finished telling about Qian Yonggui’s sabotage, and left after eating, while Qu Chaozong paced back and forth in the room several times before calming down.

It’s really been an unlucky period lately, one load of frustrating and troublesome issues.

Qu Chaozong thought that Shi Yang’s daring idea was quite cunning and twisted. If it really worked, it would certainly deal a blow to Qian Yonggui’s pride and relieve some of the anger, but he was worried that things might not go as planned and instead end up botched.

Qu Chaozong had never been the meticulous type, especially impatient, and didn’t care much for others’ business. However, Shi Yang was his buddy, his close friend, and Shi Yang’s business was his business; he couldn’t stand by and do nothing. Moreover, he had a stake in the company, and his own dealings only added to his worries.

Finally, Qu Chaozong lay on his bed in his bedroom, closed the door, smoked absent-mindedly, and only when the cigarette burned his hand did he snap out of it and toss it away.

Qu Chaozong was inspecting the newly formed blister from the burn on his finger, thinking about finding something to lance it, when his phone rang. It was Zhang Xin calling.

Qu Chaozong answered the call, and Zhang Xin’s panting voice came from the other end.

Qu Chaozong asked, "What are you doing? Panting like that, working out late at night?"

"No, I’m just rushing to catch the last bus!" Zhang Xin said out of breath, "Almost missed it, nearly broke my heel running."

Qu Chaozong was stunned: "Late at night, where are you going? Catching the last bus? Aren’t you driving yourself?"

Zhang Xin replied, "In this pitch darkness, I can’t find my way after getting off the highway alone, might get lost."

Qu Chaozong was dumbfounded, his back instantly went straight, incredulous: "No, you wouldn’t be coming to find me, would you?"

Gradually recovering her breath, Zhang Xin’s voice carried a hint of smugness: "Well, surprised?"

Qu Chaozong glanced at the time, took a deep breath: "You’re messing around in the middle of the night! Hurry back! If you really want to come, take the bus tomorrow daytime, it’s so late already!"

Zhang Xin replied softly, "Well, that’s not possible, the bus is already on its way. Let me see, um, seems like I’ll arrive at eleven thirty, why don’t you come pick me up!"

Qu Chaozong was almost driven to madness: "Zhang Xin! You..."

Zhang Xin interrupted him: "I miss you, after all, you’re not made of paper, seeing you once won’t kill me! Remember to pick me up! I’m hanging up now!"

Qu Chaozong held the disconnected phone, sat dumbly for a while, then suddenly came alive, grabbed his jacket and headed out.

Mrs. Qu heard the commotion, came out of the bedroom, and asked, "Chaozi, where are you going?"

Qu Chaozong quickly lied: "Shi Yang called me to go to the hotel to keep him company."

Mrs. Qu made a sound of acknowledgment, worriedly reminded: "Late at night, don’t you two dare find a place to drink again, go to sleep early when you get to the hotel!"

Qu Chaozong agreed while stepping out the door, thinking of soon seeing Zhang Xin, he felt energized again.

Qu Chaozong took a taxi straight to the bus station, seeing there was still time, he went to the fast food restaurant Zhang Xin used to frequent, ordered a meal casually, and sat at the window waiting.

Zhang Xin got off the bus at eleven fifty, since it was the last bus arriving, almost everyone had left the station, except for a few 24-hour fast food restaurants on the roadside.

Zhang Xin didn’t even know what she was thinking at that moment, she glanced at the sparsely populated roadside, didn’t see Qu Chaozong, but didn’t hurry to call him. She instinctively looked up at the fast food restaurant where she used to stay.

From this angle, everything inside the glass windows was clear. She almost instantly spotted Qu Chaozong, who seemed to have fallen asleep leaning on the table.

Zhang Xin walked into the store, sat across from Qu Chaozong, her gaze drifting over his sleeping face.

Qu Chaozong slept with his head tilted on his arm, actually his eyelashes were quite short, even the ones when closed were just a small cluster, but very dark in color, with a few strands of hair sticking messily to his face, his nose was tall, his lips were red and looked quite textured from sleep.

Qu Chaozong’s features were strong and deeply defined, giving him a rugged masculinity. If he didn’t look like that, would she still be so addicted to him?

Zhang Xin stared at Qu Chaozong for a full half a minute before standing up, squatting in front of him, and giving him a kiss on the lips, the warm touch feeling quite nice.

Qu Chaozong almost instantly woke up, he opened his eyes, with a trace of bewilderment from just waking up, then quickly reacted, surprised to see Zhang Xin: "When did you arrive?"

Speaking, he reached to wipe the corner of his mouth, thankfully, no drool.

Zhang Xin saw his gesture, her face lit with a smile: "Just got here."

Qu Chaozong stood up, stretched a bit, put his arm around Zhang Xin’s shoulder: "Let’s go."

Out of the fast food restaurant, Qu Chaozong asked, "Why did you suddenly come here in the middle of the night, is there something to take care of tomorrow?"

Zhang Xin let him hug her, deliberately leaned closer into his embrace, looked up and said, "Hmm, I have to go back in the morning, I guess my dad will want to have lunch together and chat."

"Just to see me, you spent the whole night like this?" Qu Chaozong grinned, slightly squinted his eyes, his gaze roving over Zhang Xin’s face.

When the two’s gazes met in the air, a warm and intense ambiguous atmosphere began to rise gradually.

Zhang Xin hadn’t felt this kind of sensation in a long time. Just meeting someone’s eyes, she felt dry-mouthed, her heart racing, the blood in her entire body boiling along with it.

Such a feeling for a severe depression patient is akin to rejuvenation, that heart-pounding, thrilling happiness was simply intoxicating for Zhang Xin.

Zhang Xin raised her head wanting to kiss Qu Chaozong, but he was already lowering his head to kiss her.

Qu Chaozong’s kissing technique was quite raw; she found herself completely trapped in the pit named Qu Chaozong, unable to extricate herself.

Qu Chaozong breathed heavily as he released Zhang Xin, his gaze brimming with suppressed passion flowed from the corners of his eyes.

Zhang Xin turned her head to glance at a nearby chain hotel across the road, wrapped her arms around Qu Chaozong’s: "Come on, let’s go to that hotel!"

Qu Chaozong gave a slight nod without saying anything, wrapped his arm around Zhang Xin, and led her directly towards the hotel.

Their bodies pressed close together, emitting scorching heat through their clothes, heating their hearts. Crossing the road, Qu Chaozong just about pulled Zhang Xin along at a trot, his eagerness like a novice, with irrepressible enthusiasm surging within him.
