Chapter 394: Resolve And Changes

Chapter 394: Resolve And Changes

That Chromaraic was Lugxa’s right-hand man. Seeing that everyone in that small central army was unstoppable, he decided to focus on wiping them out first.

"You’re just a bunch of ants. Accept your deaths! Fighting will only bring you more pain," the man sneered.

"Fuck you, ant! I’ll kill you!" Remira roared.

The battle had just started, and she couldn’t let the army’s morale take a hit now. If that happened, the whole mood Darian had created would vanish.

The enemy outnumbered them almost three to one. If they couldn’t win quickly with a single, devastating burst of power, they’d lose by exhaustion.

Unfortunately, Darian hadn’t had time to spawn a shadow army to help. He’d prioritized absorbing enemy cores so he could evolve and get stronger.

Fueled by rage, Remira didn’t care about anything else. Her spear lunged forward, tearing through space.

Seven tiny colored points flashed in her eyes. In the center, an eighth star appeared. Then all of them shifted color to a subtle bluish tint.

This was her own technique in the making. Darian had told her he’d modified the original stellar physique, adding and changing a lot. She’d used that as a base, added a new star — not tied to the elements, but to soul power.

It might’ve seemed random, but Remira specialized in soul power thanks to her mother’s legacy. At the same time, she had total mastery over the seven natural elements from her father’s bloodline. So that technique was tailor-made for her.

Her full power erupted. Even Darian was surprised by the destructive force of the move when she showed it.

In that instant, she and her spear became one.

It was the sum of everything she was. That strike carried all her resolve and what she’d changed over the years. She only cared about winning — or dying trying.

"Penitent’s Pierce!!"

**BOOM!**

The Chromaraic tried to block with everything he had— only to see his weapon shatter and his arms snap. He fell back, coughing blood. The attack was terrifying and left him gravely wounded.

Remira surged after him immediately, leaving no chance to recover.

But at that moment, over ten powerful figures converged and blocked her at once, forcing her to pull back.

She was furious, but she pulled back. Those figures were truly strong — she’d lost her best opportunity to kill the enemy.

In truth, if Remira had taken a bigger risk, she likely could’ve cleared them all. But pushing that deep into the enemy ranks would’ve cost the army its commander for a long time. It would be unacceptable to put everyone in danger because of her.

She knew the names of the main army. She was friends with many of them and had learned to think about the bigger picture instead of letting rage rule her. Losing those fifty soldiers was a brutal sting... but as Darian had said before, it was partly their fault for getting comfortable and thinking they couldn’t win. If Darian hadn’t trained them and set them on the right path, they’d still be crawling through life. They’d wasted time and weren’t yet strong enough to defend themselves.

Remira returned to her troops and gave orders, reorganizing the battle formation to minimize repeats of that kind of loss.

**BOOM!**

Suddenly, a colossal explosion shook the ground, huge fissures spreading across the battlefield. Many fighters panicked and ran; others fell into the cracks.

Fear gripped everyone. It felt like the world itself was breaking apart.

"It’s the Boss!"

Faden and the others cried out, shocked. Somehow, Darian and Lugxa had smashed into the ground. When both unleashed their attacks, the earth itself warped.

It was a show of insane light and energy. Their bodies exuded terrifying power, and both also used system-granted boosts.

"Pull back the front line! Keep close to the sect’s inscription!" Remira ordered at once when she saw that.

The sect’s inscription was their biggest weapon and shield in this fight. Darian had invested a massive stockpile of resources into that formation.

It could attack and defend — to be used at crucial moments. But they absolutely could not let the enemy reach it. If the enemy started assaulting it, its energy would drain fast.

The point of using that inscription wasn’t just defense — it was to slaughter all the enemies at the right moment, all at once.

The ideal setup was to keep the enemies away from the barrier, but still within striking range. That way, when the barrier was triggered, it would be a devastating blow that decided everything. That was their win condition against the enemy army.

It wasn’t time to use it yet. Darian had to kill Lugxa first, or that bastard could just run and strike at the inscription, destroying everything in no time. So for now, the goal was only to break the enemy’s morale and buy time.

But unfortunately, against an endless sea of enemies, they could only hold that distance by sacrificing countless lives. Everyone knew their duty.

As the battle line slowly retreated, the formation shifted, alternating between offense and defense.

Remira was way more experienced than Darian at that kind of command. She’d been well-trained by her parents, lived for centuries, and witnessed countless battles.

At the same time, with the soldiers’ Chromaraic Cataclysm, she directed terrifying long-range attacks.

Beams of light rained down, explosions blasted again and again inside the enemy army. Every strike came with a shower of blood.

While the armies pulled back, they moved farther away from Darian and Lugxa. But the exchanges between those two only grew more oppressive.

All anyone could see were two spheres of light crashing into each other nonstop. The space around them fractured over and over, elements shredded apart and dissolved.

Their attacks just kept ramping up like crazy, their gazes locked on each other. Killing intent was bursting out fiercely.

"Excellent. My father was right — finally, someone with real talent was born among the enemies. We’ve spent years pushing you to the brink just so as many powerful people as possible would emerge," Lugxa said, excited. Then, seeing Darian’s cold glare, he laughed.

"You’re still too young and weak... did you think we’d let you have time to grow? At the end of the day, you’re nothing but above average. I’m warmed up now — time to end this."

The moment he spoke, it was like an eruption went off inside Lugxa. Before, his aura had leaked like a cracked dam. Now, it was as if the whole dam burst. In an instant, his power multiplied several times over.

It was the kind of power that stirred despair. His chaos power was being used almost the same way Darian used his — multiplying his core strength many times over.

Most people could only use chaos power to boost their physical abilities and max strength two or three times... but Darian and this enemy had perfect control and knew how to squeeze every drop out of it.

Darian laughed, "Just you? I don’t feel like wasting too much time on trash."

In that moment, his body completely changed. His Yin-Yang star released all its primordial power, and his stellar physique was pushed to the absolute limit.

The whole environment turned dark, and a figure completely wrapped in darkness appeared. A terrifying pressure made Lugxa’s eyes go wide.

"What the hell..." he stammered.

Darian snorted. He had no confidence in beating that enemy quickly, so he forced him to unleash everything first. After all... Darian couldn’t use 100% of what he had. This wasn’t the real main opponent, just the warm-up Boss.

So he had to take this guy down while spending as little as possible. After that, he’d have to go all out, as fast as he could, against the true Boss. After all, he was injured — he had to strike while the chance was there.

After killing his son and showing his claws, that bastard would definitely wake up to reality and go all in to crush Darian. The best tactic was speed: catch him off guard and wipe him out both in one go.

Unfortunately, there was no choice but to let the rest of the army fight on their own. He’d already done everything he could to train them and give them weapons to survive. Now each one had to play their part.

Without delay, Darian struck again. But this time, Lugxa didn’t laugh or look confident in victory. Cold sweat ran down his face as he swung his weapon with everything he had.
