Chapter 393: Dawn Of Victory
The alliance of the Divine Seven-Star Sect was thrown into complete turmoil. Everyone who could fight gathered right away in the heart of the sect, while the weaker ones fled to the three big cities.
In no time, three massive armies were formed.
The central army had 370,000 soldiers — every single one of them had learned the Chromaraic Cataclysm over these years. The second army had almost 60,000 members: the nature races, who would serve as support in the battle.
And finally, there was the last army, close to 70,000 strong. This one was made up of three kinds of people: all the traitors from the sect and clans who had been branded with a slave seal; those who had failed to learn the Chromaraic God’s technique; and the elders, the important figures of the clans or sect.
Among this last group were Murral, Aegli, and all the others who had already lived a long life... with one foot in the grave. They probably had less than fifty years left. Being so old, learning the Chromaraic Cataclysm was extremely hard for them.
So they focused first on trying to break into the third realm, since that would give them more life force and resistance, letting them live for centuries longer and giving them time to study the technique.
But, sadly, they didn’t have enough time. One year was ridiculously short for people like them.
Altogether, the three armies added up to nearly half a million. Thanks to the sect’s assimilation technique, they had all reached level 9. This was an insane elite force, something nobody would have ever believed could exist.
Darian was sure that, in just one more year, some of them would break through into the next realm... and then this war would become much easier to win. But, as he had predicted, the enemy wasn’t stupid. They quickly realized they couldn’t give him that time and came at them with everything.
Without delay, everyone put on full battle armor, made from the best material possible. Their weapons were just as incredible. At the same time, they all released the aura of true warriors.
Nobody dared to hold back, not for a moment. Instinctively, they knew this was the decisive battle. There’d be no draw, no second chance — whoever won here would decide everything.
In less than five hours, everyone was already gathered outside the sect.
Darian stood at the front of the army, next to Remira. The main army was mostly young people; their movements were clearly a bit clumsy, and some even stood in the wrong spots out of nerves. When they realized their mistake, they were embarrassed as hell.
Seeing that, Remira’s face wasn’t looking good. She was about to scold them when Darian stepped in, speaking calmly to everyone:
"This isn’t something to feel bad or ashamed about. Watching you, it feels like I’m looking at my old self. I remember when I first started training and fighting for real... I’d take five hits just to land one on target... and when I actually won, I’d get so excited I’d drop my weapon right in the middle of the enemies..."
Darian’s mind wandered back to the time he took the test to become a Spiritual Guardian, when he had to figure out his powers while fighting the Risen alone. Luckily, back then, he had white power to heal himself, so he could afford mistakes until he learned. But even in his victories, he was clumsy and immature.
Hearing that embarrassing story, everyone in the main army burst out laughing. They just couldn’t imagine someone as powerful and confident as Darian starting out that way, making such dumb mistakes. Without even realizing it, they all felt a lot calmer inside.
Remira noticed that and sighed.
As a leader, she still had much to learn. But in these years she spent at his side, her way of acting and seeing the world had completely changed. She had never had real contact with common people, had never even tried to befriend them. But Darian had no mercy: he forced her to interact, to listen to them, and above all, he taught her to think and try to understand what they felt in order to guide them.
Then Darian turned to the whole army, speaking seriously:
"To be honest, this battle came way too soon. I wanted to give you all more time to grow. Each of you still has a massive potential. But there’s nothing to complain about. The world never gives enough time to anyone."
"People tend to settle for the mediocre life they’ve got. That’s because growth always comes with pain and suffering, effort and sacrifice. Why go through all that pain? Isn’t it easier to just relax and wait for others to do something? That’s what most of you thought, and how you lived for a long time, right? If you had accepted the pain of growth and never backed down, today you’d have a lot more confidence in surviving this battle. Anyway, life doesn’t wait or go back. Now we’re here... I’ve done everything I could, and gave you all a second chance to fight."
At that moment, the world trembled, and a terrifying pressure filled the air.
Everyone swallowed hard and looked toward the horizon... far in the distance, like a rising tide, an overwhelming army hadn’t even arrived yet, but their auras and killing intent had already reached them.
Darian snorted, then took a few light steps forward.
All three armies focused on him, as if searching for the security they lacked. When he turned back to face them, his voice boomed like thunder:
"Raise your weapons without fear. Even if it came a bit early, everything has been set perfectly for this day. This is the moment! We’ll kill them until the world flips upside down. We’ll wipe out their entire army at once! After victory, we’ll march on their cities and finish everything!"
"Kill!"
The five hundred thousand roared together.
*BUZZ!*
In that instant, the whole world shook. An endless army appeared. They looked like millions of mountains rising up.
In reality, it was countless beasts and giant figures, giving that impression. Still, that army had at least one and a half million fighters... every single one of them at level 9.
At their center, a figure released an insanely bright white aura, leading them. It was the level one Radiant King, Lugxa — a Heavenly Elemental Spirit, son of Radiant King Dohans.
Darian instantly locked onto Radiant King Lugxa. Suddenly, he stepped into the air and shot forward like lightning.
Almost everyone in the army widened their eyes. They only saw a blur tearing across dozens of kilometers in an instant.
Alone, Darian charged straight at the enemy army!
Murral and the others were about to follow him, but Remira raised her hand to stop them.
She shouted, "Don’t be reckless! I’m the commander now, and all orders come from me. The Boss is making a preemptive strike to neutralize their offensive. We can’t mess this up now that he created this opening for us!"
Just as Remira finished, Darian reached Lugxa.
With a dagger in hand, he slashed at him like a bolt of lightning.
"Hahahahahah... A tiny human dares to attack me?!"
Lugxa swung a massive black hammer, meeting Darian’s strike head-on.
Darian’s eyes lit up, like seven colorful stars popped up in his pupils.
**KBOOOM!**
Two massive forces collided, unleashing an explosion of gigantic proportions. Sand and rubble shot into the air, and the ground shattered apart. A huge wave of earth rose to the skies.
The enemy army was hit by the shock and froze instantly. Countless giant figures were thrown into the air by the shockwaves, like stones being hurled away.
In the middle of the sea of dust, a wave of elemental power burst out.
"Whirlwind Flare!"
A pulsating blade made of wind and fire was the only thing visible.
*BOOM!*
The blast spread out like a wave, lighting up the horizon like fireworks. It was beautiful and dazzling... but deadly.
That violent force reshaped the land, and countless enemies were thrown into the air miserably, spitting blood.
*BOOOM!!*
*BOOOOM!!!*
Darian kept attacking nonstop. Lugxa was forced to retreat under that overwhelming eruption of power. With every step, he was pushed back, the ground and even space trembled. And the enemy army kept getting hit by the shockwaves, turning into bloody mist.
Lugxa was completely stunned. This little human ant was only level nine? Darian was without a doubt just as strong as him, even though he was already at the third realm.
From all the enemies nearby, only those with massive physical defenses managed to escape. Faced with the power of those exchanges, they were as weak as ants, even being at the same level as Darian.
"Inferior human, you—!"
Lugxa roared furiously, but stopped mid-sentence, spooked. Darian’s pressure was so heavy that it kept him from releasing his power freely. He couldn’t unleash all his strength anyway, or he’d wipe out half his own army instantly. So, he was repeatedly forced to retreat.
Then suddenly, the rune seal on Darian’s dagger pulsed.
Lugxa felt mortal danger and instantly dodged, avoiding blocking it. But...
*BANG!*
As he tried to suddenly escape the dagger’s strike, he left himself wide open.
He took a thunderous punch straight to the face. Lugxa instantly lost his balance and got blasted away like a falling star. He smashed into the ground like a meteor and kept going, carving a huge trench in the earth.
From far away, people saw Darian up in the skies and swallowed hard.
Their hearts were pounding like drums. Darian looked like a god, punching the enemy right in the face. It was insanely arrogant, like some divine being looking down on mortals.
Remira smiled faintly. That wasn’t just an attack, it was a strike that shattered fear in people’s hearts, making them see the dawn of victory.
"EVERYONE!! Use the blood of our enemies as proof of our heroism! Attack!"
Seeing the moment arrive, Remira gave the direct order to charge.
"Kill!"
Half a million roared together as they surged forward. Everyone radiated a dense power of chaos, pouring everything out. Even facing countless enemies, they showed no fear. What they felt was overwhelming hatred toward those opponents.
In seconds, a massive battle broke out.
This was a truly bloody war. At this point, nobody was scared anymore. The moment they stepped onto the battlefield, their lives were no longer their own. All they had left was to give everything to kill as many enemies as possible.
"Chromaraic Cataclysm!"
Remira led the central army with order. A group of a hundred warriors activated their full power and struck in the same direction, forcing a path through the enemy army.
The other two armies followed close behind. It was a triangular formation, with the central army in front and the other two covering from the sides.
*BOOM!*
Suddenly, a powerful explosion burst out.
Remira turned in that direction, tense. It was obvious the enemy army also had terrifying figures standing out.
One of them revealed himself: a Chromaraic who charged in full force... in an instant, more than a hundred soldiers from the central army were wiped out along with their armor.
It was a brutal strike. Pieces of bodies flew everywhere.
This was a legit scene of war — no one was safe. Seeing that, Remira clenched her fists, while the others were horrified.
