Chapter 441: Clearing the Way for the Documentary Crew (Part 3)

Chapter 441: Chapter 441: Clearing the Way for the Documentary Crew (Part 3)

Qin Rui and his comrades listened, their expressions darkening.

"We used to speculate about the lives of the Blue Star people who were lucky enough to survive on the occupied lands, whether they’d become savages, form tribes, or live as slaves under the control of Otherworld enemies."

"In order to raid the warehouses of the Otherworldly on Blue Star, I traveled across the entire planet and saw many struggling savages and tribes. But civilization had lost much, not even reaching the level of small-scale handcrafts. Blue Star is not as vast as the Otherworld, and the enemy’s forces fought each other to occupy more land, making survival for those savages and tribes extremely difficult. Either they die or become slaves. Can you imagine?"

"Yes, we absolutely can."

"Imagine a bit more. I raided their reserve warehouses, leaving only the daily ones intact, destroyed all their Transmission Platforms connecting to the Otherworld, cutting off their way home, trapping them on Blue Star as supplies diminished by the day. Do you think they’d go insane? How dangerous would Blue Star become?"

"Wow, you’re such an ancestor!"

"Their individual strength is so formidable. If they go mad, would Blue Star still be okay?"

"Of course, as long as Blue Star doesn’t explode, the ecosystem will recover," Ye Nai said with a confident smile.

"Extinct rare flora and fauna won’t come back," a warrior muttered.

"That’s true, extinct plants and animals can’t return." Always amiable, Ye Nai suddenly exuded a chilling intent, "We might as well eradicate the Otherworld people completely. They’re just planetary weeds; clearing them would be better for the planet."

"No, no, no, don’t have such murderous intent." Qin Rui and the others were startled, quickly advising Ye Nai to calm down.

Ye Nai returned a knowing glance to them.

She understood; it’s better to proceed quietly without making a big fuss. With the chaos of the battlefield, who would know how the population decreased?

"In short, I’ve discussed the dangerous current state of both planets. If you still want to shoot material, let me know once you’re ready."

"This plan will definitely be pushed back. We have to complete a stage of occupation before letting the crew in to film the second season." Qin Rui shook his head like a rattle.

"Then let’s change the theme for the second season. Not counting what’s sunk to the seabed, there are many large and small ships and heavy platforms floating on the surface for fifty years. Shouldn’t we retrieve them?"

Qin Rui and the others gasped.

"Is the sea safe?"

"Safer than on land. I have located every one of them. No matter where they drift at sea, I can open a Transmission Port to precisely deliver them from above. I already provided the video materials to the Staff Department."

"We definitely will retrieve them!"

That’s what they said, but upon calming down and thinking it through, this plan isn’t something that can be realized in the short term.

Bringing those ships and platforms back to shore requires the towing of heavy ships, the construction of usable tool ships in large shipyards, and even starting by recruiting talent.

Calculating this, the documentary crew seems to only be able to shoot some materials according to the current plan.

Ye Nai shrugged, knowing that filming a special documentary takes a long time. It’s normal to take ten years or so to finish all three seasons; once completed, it’ll definitely be a classic.

Both parties chatted while working. Once Ye Nai left, it was as if the previous conversation never happened.

After dawn in the Secret Realm, the stationed troops temporarily relocated to a nearby town returned with the crew, witnessing the impressively large number of Transmission Ports in the warehouse.

Though opened at the crew’s request, they could only head into the Secret Realm to shoot material while the Transmission Ports leading to the Otherworld were taken over by the military. Small teams were sent to scout the surroundings, especially to liaise with personnel in Beigen Village and former Knight Territory and maintain confidentiality during interviews.

The crew also consumed Translation Mushrooms. After all, with a secure position in the Otherworld, they had a chance to interview some locals, making them very excited as such an opportunity was rare and crucial for their material.

The process of eating Translation Mushrooms, viewing electronic letters, and madly increasing vocabulary was also filmed by the crew, edited into a short video of a few minutes, which could be used to release information.

Treated as a common ingredient, Translation Mushrooms can be prepared in various ways: as a cold dish, braised, in soup, or hotpot. Eating them in different styles temporarily makes it less monotonous, whereas sticking to one preparation method can get tiresome after a few meals.

The Academicians received the notice, returned, and communicated with Ye Nai, confirming it was indeed the case, advising her not to venture into the Otherworld or Secret Realm any more, to find something else to do or stay in the lab to help with Basic data processing if she couldn’t find anything.

Ye Nai contemplated working her main occupation for a few days at least to earn her salary, but her security team had other suggestions.

There are many security personnel in the Academician District. To maintain combat effectiveness, there’s a dedicated training field.

Ye Nai donned her training gear, blending in with the security team, soaking in the training field from morning till night.

Though now a Silver-level Hunter, her Training Level was still not up to par. Only reaching Training Level 3 would grant a gun license, which was a fixed rule without any shortcuts.

Since she wasn’t needed recently, it was a good opportunity to raise her Training Level.

The reason for such level requirements is that Awakener upgrades are difficult, and each Mutant Beast Heart Core obtained in the Secret Realm is very precious. Besides its necessity for research, those reaching the market are astronomically priced.

Evaluating superpower levels proved challenging, leading to the establishment of alternate paths. After years of practice, this standard became widely accepted.

However, the logistics department struck a cash deal with her, buying most of her corn and soybean stockpile, placed at the field’s edge for the crew to capture footage before putting it into storage.

The sprouted radish field was also taken over by the army’s farming experts. Otherwise, how could Ye Nai stay in the lab with peace of mind?

The Prisoner Camp was also well-organized, prisoners engaging in self-management, with food tickets as hard currency.

Those unwilling to move ate standard meals, typically bland; those willing to work could earn more food tickets for a treat, swapping for dishes that are braised, deep-fried, pan-seared, or stir-fried.

In terms of food, these prisoners were pitiful, despite their noble status, regarded by Dahua Country people as those who’ve never had a proper meal.

Even dishes cooked with Otherworld’s domestic livestock were far more delicious than anything they’ve ever had before.

The Otherworld doesn’t lack spices, and Ye Nai had everything at her disposal. She initially earned the favor of many mid-to-low nobles by trading expensive goods and thus acquired aristocratic recipes.
