Chapter 440: Chapter 440: Clearing the Way for the Documentary Crew (Part 2)
Based on her experience watching reality TV shows, the crew often tricks the guests using this tactic—no visible cameras, but night vision cameras are hard to escape.
The viewers know it’s intentionally showcased as part of the show’s effect, and the guests act very well, but it makes Ye Nai somewhat distrustful of the crew at the moment.
Even for a National TV Station show, who knows if during preparations, someone among the staff gets mischievous and secretly hides a few cameras, wanting to see what this major figure who can perform space transmission really looks like.
After confirming the surroundings were safe for her, Ye Nai activated the spores in the soil and immediately knew the position of Qin Rui’s squad in this dark environment.
To follow the agreed signal, she still took out her flashlight and turned on the switch, a bright beam of light emerged, she gently waved her arm, using the beam to draw three circles in the air, then stopped to wait for a moment.
She didn’t need a second attempt, after she stopped, shortly after, another flashlight lit up in the darkness, similarly drawing three circles.
The position of the light was exactly where the spores had just reported Qin Rui’s squad was located.
After confirming again with spores that only Qin Rui’s squad was near their location without anyone else, Ye Nai quietly instant teleported there, lighting the flashlight again behind Qin Rui.
This sudden bright light startled Qin Rui.
"Whoa, scared me! Weren’t you just in front of me?"
"Haha, opening a transmission port is a matter of two seconds."
Ye Nai chuckled, sweeping her flashlight around, noticing it was a board-room style large warehouse.
"Opening transmission port inside here, right?"
"Yes, inside here."
Qin Rui led Ye Nai to the warehouse door, pressed the code to open the door, the lights inside brightened.
Upon entering, the whole warehouse was completely empty, only Qin Rui’s subordinates were waiting inside.
After Ye Nai greeted them all, Qin Rui took out a piece of paper from his pocket, unfolded it, and handed it to Ye Nai.
"This is the list they sent me, and I printed it out."
"Alright, thanks."
Ye Nai hadn’t expected Qin Rui to be so meticulous, truly worthy as the elite team captain; after printing it out, the electronic transmission was halted thus eliminating confidentiality concerns.
She visually assessed the depths of the warehouse, opened the transmission port and stepped to the warehouse bottom, starting from there, opening each transmission port as per the list requirements.
Qin Rui’s team not only had the task to assist Ye Nai; they also had a bunch of portable A4-sized display racks at their disposal used for noting relevant information on them after verifying the transmission ports Ye Nai opened, facilitating everyone’s access.
The list requirements for each transmission port were detailed, especially for the Five Bridges Secret Realm, Purple Capital Secret Realm, and East Ridge Secret Realm, specifying the exact locations.
Due to the numerous and scattered farmlands in the East Ridge Secret Realm, several additional ports needed to be opened.
Otherworld was also a destination, both Beigen Military Fortress and the former Knight Territory must be visited, plus the two Royal Capitals of the Cesar United Kingdom in Otherworld and the Blue Star’s southern hemisphere.
There’s also the High Cliff Coast where the warzone commander went last, it’s picturesque, with Ye Nai owning a land deed there, making it relatively safe for filming.
Ye Nai opened each transmission port according to requirement, after Qin Rui’s team members checked without disagreement, placed a marked display rack nearby.
On the side, Qin Rui whispered the buzz he gathered.
"Heard that the crew wants to visit a few unsafe places, but postponed, letting the military first sweep those danger zones."
"Where else do they want to go? With just those two Royal Capitals, deploying troops is necessary first; I can only assure safety within the Royal Palace, outside the Palace, what it’s like currently I don’t know. The crew wants to go to even more dangerous places?"
"Yeah, it’s a rare opportunity, they want to collect diverse material from every aspect."
"Looking for battlefields? Otherworld is chaos everywhere; walking on the street could lead to battlefields. Trading partners I had before have died, bankrupt, disappeared. Currently viable ones might be the salt I buy from a sea salt town, robbing salt is pointless, right? That town might survive till the end."
"Is Otherworld that dangerous now?"
"Absolutely! A 60:1 time difference means 50 years here, over there, 3000 years. Isn’t this just a simple math problem? The resource usage to sustain cross-realm transmission is astronomical, right? Royals, nobles, middle-class civilians who migrated to live on Blue Star mostly can’t consume or utilize its resources because of energy system differences; only water resources are usable, all else relies on home supplying, even as it becomes overly abundant over the years while getting moldy or infested, home supply is annual nonetheless. I don’t know how many internal wars broke out over there in 3000 years, but we’re catching one now; let them fight first, we’ll enter after all nobles are dead, rightly timing before year-end."
"Oh~" Qin Rui and his team members all nodded in realization, "No wonder mentioning holding New Year’s party in Otherworld, it’s calculated like this."
"Estimating by rounding, a week here equates to a year there; considering a month equals four weeks, by year’s end, over ten years have passed over there. During this span, the most aggressive squads may have perished, but those surviving are strong factions. Our troops advancing then, perfectly timed, before cannons everyone’s equal, despite individual prowess, they are merely flesh."
Qin Rui and his team kept nodding, after such thorough explanation, they increasingly felt next year would be a fresh start in quelling the chaos in Otherworld.
"If Otherworld is so perilous, postponing it makes sense, but the crew wants to tour various Blue Star locales, is it too risky?"
"Depends; are they seeking insights on life under Otherworld adversary control for new generations born post-destruction of Blue Star’s former nations?"
"I haven’t heard specifics yet, but your comment suggests a possibility, this thematic content needs such material."
Ye Nai pressed her lips, pondered, then nodded hesitantly.
"Possible to visit, but military sees terrain first those new generations, they are born and raised in territories dominated by Otherworld adversaries, speak and recognize Otherworld language and script, lost their history; emotionally treating them as Blue Star humans is out, viewing them as primitives is fitting. If grasping this, then I’ll set a route, make a Season Two for this documentary."
