Chapter 44: The controller (1)
The hospital corridors were partially destroyed, and the security network created with spirituality had been deactivated some time ago due to the destruction it had suffered.
As Ryan walked through the corridors, he had to dodge numerous pieces of debris due to the destruction. The occasional noise of things falling did not bother him, as he could hardly hear it.
’But it was intact before I got here,’ Ryan thought, finding it strange that no one had come or discovered this.
The beasts had been there, locked in their rooms. Did no one really notice them? Did no one try to open a door? Or were the doors they opened empty?
’Is that really likely to happen?’ he thought.
Brandon was intelligent and practically had control over the story on a not-so-large scale; he could influence the story in a certain way to lead him to the specific place where the perpetrators of this were.
Finding the culprit was more important than recovering the treasure, at least that’s how Ryan saw it. This would lead him to the whereabouts of The Butler. So why didn’t Brandon come here?
Although they had found traces of humans entering and leaving this place, since the hospital was intact and the beasts had not even been activated before, he was sure that those who had come here belonged to The Butler’s side.
But this is where the breach appeared. Did no one other than them come and search the rooms?
’Or maybe the beasts were activated recently?’ he thought. It was a possibility. Although, to his knowledge, if that were the case, then The Butler should be within a radius of several kilometers.
That would be really dangerous, given that guy’s strength and ability to create and kill in mass.
Although two different arcs had been mixed into one, Ryan could more or less guess the course of action the novel might take. It was quite different from what he remembered, but that was okay.
It was still predictable and acceptable.
The problem remained that no one had investigated this before them, which was not very predictable because, in such cases, the castle staff would come to investigate this place first.
Now, it wasn’t impossible for that to happen, and there were two possibilities. If the Butler had strong backing in the castle, they would probably come to investigate and "find nothing," but to believe a report of that magnitude, it must have been made by someone important in the castle.
Some high-level minister.
An important noble.
Or...
’Brandon,’ he thought. ’If he were the one to report that there was nothing here, no one would doubt him, especially if he made an effort to hide it.’
He remembered that there were Kazaks in those ruins, something that should have been impossible by normal means. It could only have been achieved if someone from outside had put them there, and everything pointed to Brandon. So if Brandon was an ally of The Butler...
Then something big was coming.
Although that would be difficult to happen in the novel, it was specified many times that Brandon liked to form alliances with people to manipulate/control them and thus achieve his goals. Although he was a hero of sorts, he wasn’t heroic; he was more villain than hero.
So Ryan had to consider all sides.
He suddenly stopped at an intersection of hospital corridors and turned around when he saw a shadow pass by the corner of his eye.
’I found you.’ He smiled and quickly began to follow it.

Nights in Blue Eden are usually beautiful. People enjoy the nighttime beauty of the lake, the snowfall, or simply the beautiful stars.
For the professors at Alterian University, who have the opportunity to enjoy them from the highest part of the city, thanks to the mountain on which part of the university is built, they are usually the best nights they could wish for.
Cold, but not freezing; white, but colorful thanks to the city lights.
Professor Sara had forgotten how many times she had enjoyed those beautiful landscapes. At one point, they seemed monotonous to her.
After all, she saw them every day. She woke up and went to bed, day and night, with the same views. There was no change.
So, she no longer enjoyed them or looked forward to seeing them. The routine had worn her out.
She was born in River Plate City into a small rural family of five. Her two older brothers were cooks in the nation’s armed forces, and her father and mother were as normal as you could get.
Her young life was spent between small joys and the monotony of daily routines: getting up, going to the river to bathe and fish, returning at noon to cook and prepare lunch, and getting dinner ready.
Since they lived on the outskirts of Riverplate, she did not enjoy the hustle and bustle of a city for most of her childhood, nor did she have many friends, as the town where they lived was not very populated.
It was not until she turned 12 that she finally got to know the world, but quickly everything became monotonous: she had to go to school, do homework every day, and nothing else.
The only difference she experienced was that she was bullied in the early stages of her life, but nothing that didn’t quickly become monotonous for her.
Things just didn’t get better, and she easily became mentally exhausted. She wasn’t very good at seeing or enjoying life. She never fell in love during her childhood, nor did she experience that famous young love.
Although she didn’t really care about that, she longed to be a Walker to go on adventures. She longed for those stories they told, especially those from news from the Eastern Continent to these parts.
The news of two great heroes and a great villain who threatened the world made her admire and join the fan club of both heroes, especially the one who used swords.
But soon the hero she admired became a traitor, a villain, and a liar, allied with the greatest enemy of the race, so at age 15, she suffered her first disappointment.
But she also had a question that fueled her passion: How powerful was the villain that this great hero decided to side with him? And what inspired him to make that decision?
When she was young, her head was full of questions about the World of Walkers, and she longingly wanted to be one herself.
And the world did not disappoint her. The day she graduated from junior high school, at age 16, she became a Walker.
Although leaving her parents initially felt bad, because she had grown accustomed to them, in the end, she understood that it was necessary and that they wanted it that way, since they had secured her a place to study at Alterian University.
