Chapter 43: Found

Chapter 43: Found

With each step he took, he was able to close the gap by tens of meters, and soon he was facing the enormous beast, which was dripping huge drops of sweat due to the heat. Its corrupt skin seemed to be disintegrating in the heat, and the flashes of electricity that shot out of its body and struck it burned it terribly.

He had barely begun.

After an expansion of terrible heat to the surroundings, as if it were a domain of his belonging, he attacked the part of the belly with the most fat with terrifying force.

The beast felt its body shake from deep within. It wasn’t just heat it felt now, it was currents that left it stunned in every corner of its body. Although it was a level 4 beast after the union of so many level 2 beasts, it did not have the full strength of one.

It was stronger than Cecily and Samuel, but withstanding the strength of a Level 5 like Martin was beyond its capabilities.

The flesh and fat in its stomach began to roast and fry, causing it to scream in agony as human heads burst out of its body.

This exposed its weakness.

Ryan would not let this opportunity go to waste. He couldn’t speed up the devouring process, but he could increase it by absorbing from several parts at once, and that’s what he did.

He began swallowing more than he should have and moved closer to the beast to attack it.

This caused severe burns to his skin, both on his arms and on his face and legs. Even his pants seemed to be rotting from the intense heat and the enormous electrical intensity and tension in the area.

"Ryan, don’t do it!" Cecily shouted from behind him when she realized the dangerous situation he had gotten himself into, but she was soon left speechless by what was happening.

Not only was he suddenly devouring even more spirituality, but he was also attacking the sections he was devouring with precision.

The heads protruding from the body were his perfect clue to knowing exactly which beast the spirituality he was devouring came from. Being an imperfect symbiosis, Ryan realized that he could kill the beast in parts, which made it easier for him.

However, he had to be careful because Martin’s spirituality was also unleashed. If he grabbed it, it would be difficult to let go, given his amount of spirituality, but nothing he couldn’t control.

After the first attack, Martin withdrew his arm and prepared for a second; it was then that Cecily had to stop paying attention to Ryan and start protecting Martin, who had been left in a bad position in the air.

’Hm?’ She noticed something strange happening and looked at Ryan.

He was devouring something... something she felt a connection to.

"Could it be...?"

Although she hadn’t noticed it due to the interference of the other beasts, she realized that the beast she had temporarily transformed into her puppet was not only still alive but inside that huge mass. What Ryan was devouring was the little spirituality that Cecily’s spirit had transmitted to it at that moment.

She suddenly realized that she could play that hidden card.

"Ryan, wait a moment!" she shouted at just the right moment.

Ryan watched her from a distance, confused by her scream, which almost earned him a blow to the forehead from one of the beast’s arms.

But Cecily didn’t care; she simply pursed her lips at him.

He frowned and looked at the beast once more. Just then, Cecily made an exotic movement with the beast’s hands that belonged to her. It was the one in front, near the huge belly, now riddled with holes.

’So lucky?’ Even he smiled and understood what she meant, so he stopped swallowing that spirituality, using his great benefits of having almost excessive self-control.

That was enough time for Martin to attack again.

And this time, the attack would be a good combination: Cecily used her beast to cut off the other arms that were planning to defend against the attack, and to stab the sharp tongue into a part of the body.

Faced with this unexpected and internal onslaught, the huge beast did not know what to do and was momentarily incapacitated, which was enough for Martin to launch a second attack, this time lethal.

Too lethal.

At the same time, Ryan turned abruptly toward one of the upper windows of the hospital.

’I found you.’ He smiled coldly and focused on the hidden person controlling the mutant beast.

"ROOOOOOOOAR!" A roar of pain, rage, and hatred erupted from the depths of all the beasts’ mouths behind him. It was powerful enough to rupture his eardrums, momentarily stunning him.

His ears began to bleed, but he didn’t care. The battle was over, and he knew that from the roar, which was more pain than rage. They had hit the nail on the head.

Moreover, the spirituality he had stolen had transformed into several orbs, and he had also received a share of the orbs possessed by this level 4 beast.

In other words, they had won.

And since he was the first to realize this, he turned his attention to the bastard behind it all.

’You won’t escape.’

Although he had lost sight of it and its trail was difficult to follow due to the distance, he was an expert at tracking Walkers. Furthermore, they had killed the beast it controlled, leaving traces in the environment that he could use.

"Ryan?" Cecily looked at him, stunned, as he began running after the beast, which was getting further away.

Soon, the beast fell apart and hit the ground with a thunderous crash, kicking up dust in the vicinity. When everything returned to normal, Ryan was no longer in sight.

On the other side, there was only dust, rocks, and a ruined hospital that had just received a new visitor.

Martin frowned as he looked at it from afar. Something was strange.
