Abium sat on the back seat comfortably and quietly looked outside through the curtain gap.
Meanwhile, Zivior sat beside him and quietly turned his gaze toward the front seat.
At that moment, Tabitha and Ubius had already seated on the opposite seat and closed the carriage door.
"Start the carriage, Nelson." Tabitha said in a loud tone and turned her gaze towards Ubius.
"Activate the Sensory Barrier, Ubius."
"Got it," Ubius nodded and touched the bracelet on his left hand before uttering a few runic words.
"You can talk freely now." He added.
Meanwhile, Tabitha took a deep breath and started talking about Abium's encounter with Apprentice Necromancer Bilet to Zivior.
"So, that's what happened, huh? You made the right choice, kid. But you should have returned to the White Tower and asked for my help." Zivior grumbled and soon frowned as he noticed Abium was not paying attention.
"What happened?" He asked while furrowing his brows. Meanwhile, Tabitha and Ubius also shifted their gaze toward him and looked at him in puzzlement.
On the other hand, Abium quietly withdrew his gaze from outside and asked.
"Why aren't we going to the Northern tower? I thought the meeting would be held in the magic tower, though."
Tabitha curled her lips upward as she heard Abium's words and said with a chuckle.
"Well, if we go to the magic tower now, the necromancers or other mages hiding in the Royal Capital will take notice and become aware of our every movement. Moreover, there is also a possibility that someone from the magic tower might act as a spy and send information to the enemy. In truth, it won't take less than a minute for the enemy to find out who is staying in the Magic Tower and who is staying in the Royal Capital."
"So, the meeting is in the Royal Capital?" Abium asked.
"Yes. Teacher Alius also informed us to stay in the capital a few days ago and start searching for information about the Necromancers. I already tracked down five members of the Secret organization and killed them near Dawy's Lane. Alas, I still have no clue about their goal." Zivior said with a solemn tone.
"So, what did you find out during your last few days of investigation, Mage Abium?" Tabitha knew Abium wasn't an average mage and asked curiously.
On the other hand, Abium nodded his head and started talking with a solemn look.
"Actually, I came to the Royal capital in a hurry because of another reason. It has something to do with a Necromancer."
"You mean the Apprentice Necromancer who caused you trouble earlier?" Tabitha asked.
Abium shook his head and explained.
"A few weeks ago, Baron Harry and his family members started creating trouble for me using lame excuses. Not only did Baron completely block the newly found underground tunnel but he also started collecting high taxes on anyone who tries to enter the Alastall Woodland. To make things grim, his grandfather even killed five of my soldiers and sent their heads to me in bags."
"He dares to provoke a mage?" Zivior couldn't help but show a surprised face. Meanwhile, Tabitha shook her head and answered.
"It's the start of the civil war, Zivi. Also, Abium is both a Mage and a Noble. So, we have no choice but to abide by the law. Baron Family members might have planned a trap for Mage Abium."
"Yes, my lady. I also thought the same and refrained from taking any action against him. But after some days, I sneaked into his mansion while confirming no dangers nearby and interrogated Baron Harry." He paused for a moment and continued in a solemn tone.
"During the interrogation, I found out that Baron Harry's grandfather was doing some business with a mysterious gray-haired old man."
"Necromancer?" Ubius also leaned forward and started listening to Abium's explanation attentively.
"Yes. Baron Harry also said that his grandfather and the gray-haired old man were the ones who caused trouble for my people and even revealed where they went."
"Royal Capital… Still, what's their purpose? Why did thatNecromancerr act carelessly? Is it a trap to lure you?" Tabitha suddenly paused and slowly turned her gaze toward Zivior.
"Maybe they thought of using you to lure Zivior out of the Magic Tower?"
"You are thinking too much, Lady Tabitha. I also didn't understand why they tried to harm me then and rushed back to Royal city to search for both of them."
"So, that's why you asked for that faceless glass mask and those paralysis potions, huh!" Tabitha nodded in enlightenment.
"Yes, My lady. I used those to sneak into Baron Harry's mansion and finally found out that Baron's grandfather was an old friend of that Necromancer." He deliberated for a moment and then continued.
"After killing him, I learned that he was a member of a secret organization and seemed to be planning to attend a secret meeting on March 14th. After some planning, I disguised myself as the grey-hairedNecromancerr and attended that secret gathering in his stead." A crafty smile crept on Abium's face as he spoke.
"You! Are you insane?!" Zivior almost shouted at his recklessness.
"Well, well, this is getting interesting." Ubius couldn't help but take a deep look at Abium.
After all, not even he had that much courage to sneak into the enemy's base without any backup plan.
Before Zivior could stand up and strangle him for his reckless behavior, Abium cleared his throat and continued.
"Don't worry, Teacher. Due to my 'recklessness,' I also found more interesting things. First, the secret organization's name is Order of the Dead. Although I still haven't learned about their true goal, they are planning to do a massacre during the upcoming Grand Nobles Gathering." Abium purposefully stopped and noticed that Zivior was staring at him with wide-opened eyes.
"You are an insane disciple! But this is indeed a serious matter. Still, how did you sneak into a necromancer organization's secret meeting and come back alive without being noticed by others?" Zivior asked in a hurry. Although the Faceless Glass mask could let him change his facial appearance into a completely different person, it still wasn't enough for Abium to sneak into the Necromancer's base.
Zivior knew that it was illogical and gave him a suspicious glance.
Meanwhile, Abium quickly took out the emerald gem-embedded cursed artifact from his space ring and gave it to his Teacher.
At the same time, all three analyzed the artifact and nodded their heads in understanding.
"Did you use the 'Slave Bind' spell on the Necromancer's soul? Hmm, that was indeed a good plan. So, what other information did you find out about them?" Zivior asked hurriedly.
"You can tell the other information during the meeting." Tabitha interrupted Zivior and shook her head.
Meanwhile, Zivior grumbled a little and finally nodded.
After Tabitha's interruption, no one spoke for the next few minutes and quietly sat in their seats. The only sound that echoed inside was the carriage wheel's creaking noise.
'Ugh. Why did they become so silent?'
"So, where is the meeting place?" After a long silence, Abium asked while looking at Tabitha.
Although the curtain was closed on both sides, Abium had been monitoring the surroundings through the map function and knew they were moving closer toward the northeastern city wall.
"54 Bailey Street," Ubius said with a gruff voice. At that moment, the carriage also slowed down and soon stopped moving.
"We're here!"
Zivior slightly pushed the curtain on his left side and walked out of the carriage. Meanwhile, Abium and others also stepped down from the carriage and looked at the surroundings.
On the other hand, the carriage driver didn't delay a moment and quietly drove the carriage out of Bailey Street.
Abium glanced in the direction where the carriage went and quietly returned his gaze towards the two-storied building that stood ahead of them.
The walls were painted light green and emitted a dim glow.
As they moved closer to the house, a growling sound came from the compound. A second later, everyone saw a large black hound standing inside the compound wall, glaring at them. But without minding the hound's glare, Zivior opened the compound entrance gate and walked inside like it was his own house.
'Aren't we supposed to hide our identity from others? Well, the possibility of those necromancers seeing us here is almost none anyway.' Abium nodded inwardly and followed Zivior's footsteps.
