Chapter 205: New House

A few minutes later, Darby brought him to a remote area near the city wall and showed him a small brick house. The house was beneath the city wall and appeared isolated entirely, as Abium had expected.

"This house is the most secure one in the entire Pine Street, and no one would dare to create a problem for you, sir. The only problem is that you have to walk two miles from here to reach the Slum Borough's exit." Darby said while rubbing his hand.

Abium wasn't bothered by such a problem and tossed another white gold coin to him.

"You can go back now." Abium said but suddenly paused as he thought of something and continued with a smile,

"If you provide me some useful information, I may give you one or two normal gold coins."

Darby's eyes instantly lit up once he heard those words and replied hurriedly.

"A few mysterious people came to our Slum Borough a few weeks ago, Sir Jeeves. I don't know what their purpose is, but they didn't cause any trouble and secluded themselves in different streets."

'Oh? Mysterious people, huh? Necromancers? Or other organization members? One way or another, they will also learn about my existence through these gang members and might keep an eye on me. Although it would be impossible for them to find my real identity, I shouldn't act carelessly.' Abium quietly nodded his head and then spoke.

"Observe them for a while and tell me about their facial features. If there is someone good at drawing skill in your gang, ask the person to draw rough images of those people's faces. I'm willing to pay one or two gold coins extra. If you complete this task, I might even give you an expensive reward. How is it?" Abium asked with a serious tone.

"Yes, sir Jeeves. I'll not disappoint you." Darby said sincerely and walked away from there.

Meanwhile, Abium stood in front of the small brick house for a while and fell into deep thoughts.

'I finally got the fake identity. Even if I left some clues behind when searching the necromancers, they will only trace back to this place. Also, I want to keep this identity (Jeevis) as an ordinary fourth-tier warrior who got lucky and entered the slum with some hidden motive. A few ruffians will continuously monitor this house for the next few days and try to figure out some information about me. But they are not a problem.'

'Even if a guy who has ties with the administrative department started to search for me, he would only find out my name is Jeeves or I'm the original servant Abium from Viscount Gauvain's mansion. No one would suspect that a Noble Elven mage is hiding here using a fake identity.'

Abium nodded with a satisfactory smile and entered the single-storied brick house.

As he walked in, he noticed that the house had only two 10x10 ft rooms. One was a reception room, while the other one was a kitchen. A small bed, two wooden chairs, and one table were placed in the reception room, while the kitchen had many cooking utensils.

He also surveyed the house and soon noticed that the bathroom was located at the backside of the house. He also saw a Dug Well near the house and nodded.

'It's a perfect place.' While muttering, he returned to the reception room and sat on the bed. Thɪs chapter is updated by novel{f}

'When compared to other huts and houses, mine is way better.' He muttered solemnly and looked at the portrait painted on the back of the wooden door.

'Darby's portrait? So, it's his house, huh?' After some thought, he shook his head and took out the divine fragment from his space ring.

'After absorbing some spirit clouds, I should focus on increasing my battle power by creating a few spell scrolls.' He muttered inwardly and quickly sat in a meditative pose to absorb the white clouds.

The following day, on June 11th, Pine Street, Slum Borough.

It was around 5 A.M.

Abium woke up due to the noise from the nearby huts and sat up with a frown.

'Are these guys going out for daily work? Hmm, I should also leave the Slum Borough earlier and act as a skilled thief. Although I don't have to steal anything, I have to show others that I'm a fourth-tier warrior with stealing skills.' Abium slowly got up from his bed and began to go out.

He left his house a few minutes later and soon arrived at the Slum Borough's exit gate.

Around 6 A.M, the metallic gate opened with a bang, followed by an announcement from the other side.

"Line up in the queue and get your identification papers from your bags. If you don't have one, do not waste a breath and return to the filthy place." A cold voice came from a tall, middle-aged man.

Meanwhile, multiple guards stood at the exit gate and started checking the people's identification.

The unusual thing about now was that they only let those who gave one silver coin to the guards!

Abium also gave his fake identity paper and one silver coin to a lean guard and walked out of the Slum Borough without any problems.

'It seems that guard Palmer is not here.' He glanced around his surroundings and soon moved towards the Commoners' Borough.

A few minutes later, Abium booked a room in a random Inn and changed into a new fine linen shirt and pants. He also changed his ugly leather boots to the new black ones and quietly walked out of that Inn.

After that, he went to the Merchants' Borough and entered a real estate company named Split's Craftsmen. The real estate companies mostly do businesses like primary housing sales and land plots.

Split's Craftsmen traded mostly with houses. Abium didn't spend much time inside the real estate building and brought a single-storied house near the Nobles' Borough wall in Commoners' Black Street. Of course, he used Jeeves's identity and didn't leave any loopholes behind.

It cost him almost 200 white gold coins!

There were only three rooms inside the single-storied house; a kitchen on the right side, a large hall in the middle, and a bedroom with an attached bathroom on the left.

'While comparing to the amount I spent on those second-tier spell scrolls, this house is way cheaper.'

He brought this house specifically to infiltrate the Nobles' Borough and for other purposes. If it was another town, he wouldn't have brought this house and could have used the blink spell to sneak into the Nobles' Borough.

Unfortunately, he is staying in the Royal Capital.

There were at least one or two second-tier mages residing in the city all the time and watching everyone's movement like a hawk.

A slight unusual elemental fluctuation would attract their attention.

'Although using zero tier spells in commoner's Borough won't attract the mages' attention, I'm not sure about the Merchants' and Nobles' Borough. I still recall the moment about how Teacher ZIvior stopped the battle at the Auction House's entrance a few months ago.'

'I wouldn't be surprised if the academic mages were already aware of my movements. I hope Lady Tabitha keeps my arrival secret from others.' He nodded thoughtfully and quickly arrived at 16 Black street, where the newly brought house was located.

After checking the house, he purchased a few things like quilts, bedspreads, and a few regular dresses and started arranging everything for the new house.
