A huge image of a dark churning sea appeared behind her, in this dark sea was a moving shadow so vast he could not even see it end.
The image was realistic almost like a recording. His memory of his own image was not clear but he was certain it was nowhere near being detailed like this.
It was illusory and feeble yet it still cracked his soul just because he used it for a moment.
His curiosity and desire to bear witness to a battle of this level grew to overwhelming proportions.
It almost triumphed his desire for safety, almost, because when her aura grew to multiple times it former self he knew it was time to bounce.
He tried to swim away but he felt as if he was dragging his body through a pool of rocks and clay.
The sea became so dense it took all of his efforts to barely swim a few dozen metres. He even used his haki but it did not help.
He sighed, he regretted staying for so long but who could blame him, his overwhelming curiosity plus the subtle pride and confidence his bloodline gives him makes him very reckless, thinking he could survive anything they throw as long as he is far enough, how foolish?
Even though he knew that it was a foolish and unnecessary danger it was still hard for him to fight against them. Those feelings were imprinted deep in the blood of every dragon, nomatter how impure their blood is.
Since he couldn’t leave he chose to continue and watch. Ursela still did not turn back into her true form choosing to fight in her humanoid form.
The vessel spirit stabbed at her, his spear descended from the sky like it was trying to pierce the whole world.
Her body was like an ant compared to it but instead of dodging she welcomed the spear with an open palm, literally.
When it landed the sky shattered, the sea churned creating waves so high they split the sky in half.
However everything within a few metres around was calm, unaffected by the power of the spear at all, it tip was firmly held by her hand and did not move an inch further.
" Ho...how? You..that image, you are her descended?" The spirit sounded panicked then it calmed down.
" Doesn’t matter if you are her descended, your bloodline is too impure, there’s no reason to be scared of you."
" I’ve had many ancestors so I do not know which one you speak of but based on the fear on your face I bet you talking about ancestor Ah-Kun."
" Yes..yes that was her name, that monster..." He stopped and his giant body shook, even the spear vibrated.
" Really? You’re talking about her? You must be really old, like really really old since she died during the eternal war countless years ago. I heard that war was brutal."
" No need to remind me, I was there, I watched as heroes died one after another even my holder lieutenant general Gold died during that war."
There was sadness and grief in his voice. " Lieutenant general? You s***ty old ghost, didn’t you say your holder was a marshall?"
Ursela pointed at him with an accusing look. " Well I..ah, how do you even know military ranks, you just a beast how dare you accuse this lord of lying, lieutenant general is higher than a mere marshall.
I called him that because I don’t like bragging." The spirit said in a righteous tone. " No it’s not, we have records of your human military structures you lying old smelly ghost."
" I do not smell you stupid beast I’m a spear, you’re the smelly one." Ved’s expression was peculiar.
These two were duking it out a moment ago and now they were arguing about military ranks.
" I’m a lady you uncultured swine with a rotten mouth, how dare you call me smelly, eat my fist."
She lunged at him.’ Ah, they’re back at it again.’ her punch was single, there was no technique behind it, it did not seem more powerful than her previous attacks.
Infact it appeared to be weaker, there were no accompanying phenomenon as it cut through the air but when it reached the vessel spirit his light dimmed and his gigantic body fell over like a crumbling tower.
The gold on the spear became a bit duller and pale. His body crashed on the ocean. She stood in the air above him proudly.
Her gaze towards him was filled with nothing but disdain. She scoffed " That will teach you to respect women."
His body jumped up and stabbed at her, she deflected the spear casually then lunged at him, her speed did not seem faster than before but he failed to react.
No matter how Ved looked at it the fight was weird, the image did not seem to make her stronger but each of her attacks seemed to work better on him, more effective somehow.
Even a simple punch dealt more demage then any attack she had delivered before. He couldn’t figure out how this worked at all so he stopped trying and just enjoyed the fight.
The best part of this was that the shockwaves nolonger reached him, so even though he felt like his body was being crushed by a bus due to the increased density of the sea he was still relieved.
They exchanged thousands of blows and each one shaved a layer of light on the spirit body and made the spear more pale.
Parts of it were not closer to yellow than gold. The spirit sent technique after technique at her but they all crumbled like sand castles.
A gigantic ball of light gathered in the sky above them, it grew larger and larger until it looked like a mini sun, it turned the world bright then it exploded.
He almost closed his eyes expecting a blinding light but none came, instead the ball of light turned into an army of soldiers riding horses and carrying spears.
The army was made of thousands of golden soldiers each exuding a terrifying aura of a rank 4. They rode their horses and galloped through the air flying at her.
She stood in the facing the army by herself, her water like hair danced in the wind and the image behind her shook and the shadow moved, then she made her move.
