Chapter 33 An Eye for an Eye

What the hell are you looking at!

I scornfully replied to Li Degui, "You don't need to play these games with me. If you try any more of these tricks, I'll take your dog life right now!"

"Really, look, it's a sheep!" Li Degui said excitedly.

I glanced in the direction Li Degui was looking and indeed, there was a sheep, leisurely grazing.

My eyes lit up. The taste of lamb, I didn't need to say, was naturally delicious. Moreover, the sheep's wool and milk were all good things. To encounter a mountain goat at this juncture was truly incredibly lucky. It seemed heaven still favored us.

Without a second thought, I led Li Degui, step by careful step, towards the sheep. When we were a few meters away, I told him to stand still, hold his breath, and I planned to pounce and catch this mountain goat.

But who would have thought an accident would happen at this very moment!

The sheep was more agile than I imagined. As Li Degui approached, he accidentally kicked a stone, making a slight noise. The sheep, as if startled, immediately ran towards the woods behind it.

Damn it, you useless dog for ruining things!

"Li Degui, if you cause any more trouble, I'll throw you into this icy snow and freeze you to death."

I yelled at Li Degui and quickly went to chase the sheep. Li Degui reluctantly followed behind me.

After only a few steps, I suddenly felt the ground tremble.

Damn, this commotion, could it be another black bear?

Suddenly, before I had time to react, a wild boar burst out of the nearby bushes.

It weighed about two to three hundred pounds and had black bristles.

It charged straight at me.

I quickly grabbed a nearby tree trunk, shifted, and dodged it.

The wild boar ignored me and charged straight into the depths of the forest.

Good heavens, if that thing hit me, even a titan would be breached.

While I was still shaken, Li Degui suddenly approached me solicitously and said, "Brother Ye, catching these one by one is too time-consuming. Why don't we set a trap!"

Li Degui had been listless just moments ago, how could he suddenly be so proactive?

There must be something fishy!

On the surface, I agreed to Li Degui's suggestion and told him to dig a hole nearby.

Watching his retreating back, I let out a cold laugh.

Li Degui, you'd better behave yourself. If you want to trick me, don't blame me for being ruthless!

Li Degui was digging a hole over there, and I happened to find some poisonwood here, so I collected some sap.

My heart immediately felt at ease.

With this "see blood seal throat," what prey couldn't be caught!

In a short while, Li Degui finished digging the hole. I simply covered the opening with some leaves.

Li Degui, standing beside me with his head bowed and a smile plastered on his face, said, "Brother Ye, you wait here. I'll go lure the wild boar over."

This Li Degui must be up to something. Such a timid person, now volunteering to lure a wild boar?

I wanted to see what trick he was up to!

Laughing coldly in my heart, I patted his shoulder on the surface, "Li Degui, if you do well this time, I'll consider giving you an extra meal when we get back."

Li Degui happily agreed and ran into the depths of the forest.

I wandered around and found a cliff behind a dense forest. It wasn't particularly deep, perhaps tens of miles high, and I could faintly hear flowing water.

This cliff seemed like something I could use, I mused, stroking my chin.

Suddenly, the ground trembled violently.

I looked up and towards the depths of the forest.

Sure enough, Li Degui, looking disheveled, was ahead, with the wild boar following behind.

"Brother Ye, quickly come and support me!" Li Degui saw me standing behind the trap and waved urgently at me.

Is it possible that the wild boar would really be led here so obediently?

My heart was full of caution, my left hand gripping my alloy knife tightly.

As Li Degui lured the wild boar closer, a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. He suddenly rolled towards the top of a nearby tree, and the wild boar charged straight at me.

"Lu Ziye, I'll kill you!"

Damn it, I knew this Li Degui was harboring malicious intentions!

The wild boar was only three to five meters away from me, and in the blink of an eye, it was upon me. I dodged to the side and swung my knife at its head.

The wild boar was wounded and let out a tragic howl. The entire pig became extremely agitated.

It charged wildly.

As expected of a pig, it couldn't compare to human intelligence. I dodged seemingly with difficulty to the left and right, but in reality, I was guiding it step by step towards the trap.

Before long, the wild boar, as I wished, fell into the trap that had been prepared, disoriented and squealing in the pit.

Excellent, I'll deal with you beast later. Now it's time to send Li Degui on his way!

Holding my knife, I swaggered towards Li Degui.

Seeing that I wasn't hit by the wild boar, Li Degui tried to escape. However, he was injured and hadn't eaten all day. Before long, I caught up to him.

"Brother Ye, no! I was wrong, spare me. I'll never dare again. I'll be your ox and horse from now on. If you say one, I won't dare say two. Spare my life!"

Seeing me catch up, Li Degui immediately knelt before me.

He kowtowed incessantly, even drawing blood from his scalp.

Did he really think I, Lu Ziye, was a pushover!

He tried to take my life again and again, and now he had the audacity to beg me to let him go.

Impossible!

I sneered, holding my knife, and walked unhurriedly to Li Degui.

"Li Degui, I spared your dog life earlier out of consideration for everyone in the cave. Now you're seeking your own death, so don't blame me."

Li Degui, crying with snot and tears, crawled forward a few steps on his knees, making a move to hug my leg.

"Brother Ye... give me a chance..."

Li Degui pleaded with me on the surface, but as he got closer, he pulled a sharpened stone from his pocket and stabbed fiercely towards my femoral artery.

I had been guarding against this desperate move by Li Degui all along. Seeing that this bastard dog had indeed lived up to my expectations, I sneered and kicked Li Degui on the shoulder.

He cried out in pain and fell backward.

I walked up to him with a cold face, looking at Li Degui as if he were an idiot, "What were you trying to do just now? You dog bastard, did you really think you could hurt me!"

I stomped on his left hand, which was holding the stone, and crushed it fiercely.

You don't have the guts to kill, yet you want to act tough.

You are not only a dog, but also an idiot!

No different from the pig in the trap.

No, even a pig is more useful than you, at least it can be eaten.

They say fingers are connected to the heart. Li Degui's left hand was under my foot. He convulsed with pain, letting out animalistic roars from his throat.

After tormenting Li Degui for a while, his roars gradually faded, and he fell into a coma.

I didn't want to send Li Degui to his death so easily.

I suddenly remembered the cliff I had seen earlier.

Li Degui, the despair you made me feel when you pushed me into the swamp, I will repay you a thousandfold today!
