Chapter 403: Daddy Would Never Hit Me

Chapter 403: Chapter 403: Daddy Would Never Hit Me

Railer thought about it and realized she might be right. Even Russell hadn’t said much, and Chantelle had only told him to stop fooling around with Kane.

So, does that mean Mommy actually blames me and hates what I did?

"Even Mrs. Wilson treats you differently from Kane and Steph," the woman continued. "You were apart from her for five years, while she raised Kane and Steph herself. That’s why she’s more familiar with them."

Seeing Railer’s upset expression, the woman kept talking persistently.

Railer’s eyes turned red. If he hadn’t held it back, he would have started crying.

"So, you should stay away from Kane and Steph. I’ve noticed that Mr. Wilson is closer to them now, but not to you. You used to be number one in his heart. But now? When he comes home, he hugs Steph first, then scolds Kane with a smile. And if you don’t speak, he sometimes forgets you’re even there."

"What should I do? I don’t want Daddy to only love Kane and Steph," Railer said weakly, slumping to the ground as he looked up at the woman in a daze.

The woman gently patted Railer’s head with a look of pity, then smiled. "Do you want Mr. Wilson and Mrs. Wilson to love you alone?"

Railer hesitated. He didn’t want Daniel and Chantelle to love him alone. He just wanted them to love him the same way they loved Kane and Stephanie.

"In a family with several children, parents’ love is never the same for everyone," the woman said softly. "Right now, they care a little more about Kane and Steph, but they still care about you. Soon, though, they might only have their eyes on your two siblings. And when that happens, if you upset them, they might punish or even hit you."

Railer’s eyes widened in disbelief. "That’s impossible! Daddy would never hit me!"

"What about Mrs. Wilson? Does she often punish Kane? How do you know she won’t punish you one day? She’s gentle with Kane because she raised him for five years and knows him well. But she isn’t that close to you. What if one day she treats you the way Kate did, just to protect Kane?"

Seeing Railer frown in disbelief, the woman’s eyes revealed a trace of impatience, but she still kept a gentle smile. "You’re too young to understand everything, but I’ve experienced this kind of situation myself. My parents divorced when I was a child. I stayed with my father, and my sister went with my mother..."

Her voice broke as she shared her story. She covered her face and quietly sobbed for a moment before giving Railer an apologetic smile.

Railer handed her his handkerchief and slowly coaxed her, "Don’t be sad."

"If you weren’t so kind and good to me, I wouldn’t have been brave enough to risk myself to be kicked out by Mr. Wilson and Mrs. Wilson just to tell you the truth," the woman murmured.

Railer frowned slightly, and when he looked at her again, there was gratitude in his eyes.

Seeing that, the woman continued, "I lived with my father for three years, but later he married another woman. She didn’t like me and kicked me out of the house. I had no choice but to go back to my mother. My mother used to love me very much, but when I returned after three years, I realized she only had eyes for my sister."

Railer listened to her intently, giving her his full attention, and looked at her with sympathy. The woman felt secretly pleased.

He’s just a five-year-old kid. He’s easy to fool. A few words are all it takes.

"My mother only loved my sister. She didn’t care about me. My sister could take my things, hit me, and scold me whenever she wanted. If I made her upset, my mother would beat me. Later, my mother didn’t even let me go to college because she didn’t want to spend money on me. She made me work part-time to earn money for my sister. Railer, I’m telling you this because I don’t want you to go through what I did."

Her voice sounded sincere, and her expression was full of concern, making it hard for Railer not to believe her.

Railer’s eyes turned red as he listened to her. Thinking of his own situation, he couldn’t hold his emotions any longer. He threw himself into the woman’s arms and began to cry.

The woman worried his crying would attract Chantelle’s attention, so she quickly soothed him. "Don’t worry. As long as I’m here, I’ll never let them take your place in the Wilson family!"

"What are you going to do?" Railer asked through his sobs.

A cruel look flashed in the woman’s eyes. "If your parents only have you, they’ll give all their love to you alone."

"What do you mean?" Railer asked, blinking twice in confusion.

The woman leaned closer to Railer’s ear and whispered, "You take Kane and Steph outside and make them disappear, then they won’t compete with you for your parents’ favor."

"I can’t do that! They are my siblings!" Railer shook his head hard.

The woman barely hid her disgust and impatience. She stood up as if to leave. "You call them siblings. Have they ever treated you like an older brother? How do they usually call you? Do they take you with them when they go out to play?"

Railer’s face twisted. He whispered, "They grew up in Carcosa. They have a positioning system on them. They won’t disappear."

"You don’t have to worry. If you do what I say, you can make Kane and Steph disappear!" the woman whispered in his ear.

The confusion on Railer’s face slowly faded. His expression turned hopeful.

"Rai!" Chantelle’s voice suddenly called out from a distance.

The woman panicked and quickly ran toward the back of the villa. As she left, she reminded him, "Railer, don’t forget the time we agreed on!"

Railer watched her leave and nodded.

"Rai, what are you doing here alone?" Chantelle asked when she finally found him. He was squatting on the ground, planting flowers while his hands and face were covered in dirt.

"I’m planting flowers so Uncle Russell won’t be angry," Railer said, looking up at her nervously, afraid she might scold him.

Chantelle suddenly felt guilty. She had been so angry at Kane earlier that she forgot about Railer for a while. After punishing Kane, she remembered him and rushed out to look for him.
