It wasn’t that they weren’t permitted to walk further into the facility.... They could have, but both parents knew, and so did the children, that each step deeper would make the goodbyes become even harder. The parking lot was enough, a place to pause before the inevitable separation.
And so, without looking back, they ran ahead. Their laughter and voices faded into the distance, swallowed by the wide, disciplined grounds of the academy.
Tang Fei stood still, her gaze lingering on their retreating silhouettes, her chest tightening in both pride and sorrow.
"They’re all gone..." With one arm, he swept her up into his embrace. The sudden loss of balance made Tang Fei instinctively curl her arms around his neck, clinging to him intimately.
"What are you doing?" she whispered, her face heating up instantly. The soldiers patrolling nearby froze mid-step, eyes widening in surprise. Everyone in the compound knew Huo Ting Cheng was a married man, but few had ever witnessed such intimacy between him and his wife.
The sight of their intimacy, and got tender their usually untouchable commander was, carrying his wife so tenderly was shockingly sweet.
"Relax..." his low voice brushed against her ear, lips grazing the shell as he nibbled softly. Her breath immediately hitched, he just needed to do a little bit of bitting and her entire body would explode. Sometimes she felt like this was some kind of magic.
He carried her effortlessly to the sleek black van, his commanding tone immediately shifting. "You all... go to the other van..."
" Geeez! You are so moody!" Huo Qi mumbled alighting with his tablet. Huo Wu, Huo Zhen and Huo You alighted following closely behind Huo Qi.
"Control yourself!" Secretary Li also mumbled getting down from the van with his briefcase.
One by one, they alighted, leaving the two of them alone with complete privacy. The heavy door slid shut behind him with a click, locking into place.
Inside, the scent of leather filled the cool, spacious interior but not only that, Ting Cheng wired this cologne that was made Tang Fei go wild. She just needed to inhale that scent and he would have everything he ever wanted to.
Huo Ting Cheng sat down on the plush seat, pulling Tang Fei firmly onto his lap. His arms closed around her, caging her against him as though she might vanish if he let go.
"Fei Fei..." His voice was low, tinged with grievance as his forehead brushed hers intimately. "Are you angry with me? You know the children will grow up, build their own lives, and their own families, but the one who will stay with you to the end... is me. I, your husband.."
His words carried both tenderness and aggrievances as if she was neglecting him.
"Tsk! It’s not like I don’t know how to act!" she inwardly scoffed, though her lips curved into a wild smile. "Ting Cheng... Ah Cheng... what are you even saying? Am I not right here, accompanying you?" she mumbled, her fingers wandering from his cheek down to the line of his neck.
She leaned in, inhaling his scent, and the moment her nose brushed his skin, her body trembled, heat flooding her veins.
"But earlier, you avoided me! Tell me... what exactly do you want me to do, hmm?" His hand slid firmly around her waist, dragging her flush against his chest, her soft curves pressing into him. Both of them were dressed in matching black suits, the closeness making their breaths mingle.
"After sending them to school, we’ll finally have time to ourselves, won’t we?" She kissed his forehead, then trailed playful pecks down his cheek, teasing him.
"But I don’t think that’s enough," he muttered, letting her torment him however she pleased.
She tilted her head, mischief dancing in her eyes. "How about we go out this evening? Just the two of us... no interruptions." His fingers brushed against her face, tucking her bangs gently behind her ear, his soft touch lingering.
"Yeah, why not? But...." her lips curved into a sly smile, " if you’re only going to tease me, then forget it. If you really want me... then tell me, so I can prepare myself." Her voice dipped shyly at the end, though her hips shifted on his lap in a slow, tempting sway.
His eyes darkened, lust flickering in their depths, threatening to devour every bit of her playful defiance.
Her sly words hung in the air, daring him, and testing him. Huo Ting Cheng’s jaw clenched, his gaze locked on her lips that hovered just inches away, taunting him with every breath.
"Prepare yourself?" His voice was low, rough, almost dangerous, what do you need to prepare? You ain’t doing anything..." He slightly smirked letting her tease him around.
"Of course mentally, physically and emotionally, isn’t it normal?" Inwardly, she was really excited, probably he has come around and they would definitely be one.
Her teasing tone only fanned the flames in his chest. Huo Ting Cheng’s eyes narrowed, his smirk sharp but restless, as though her words were tugging at the last of his restraint. The tension between them thickened, the silence louder than words.
And then, before she could even react, his hand slid to the back of her head, pulling her in. His mouth crashed against hers, hot and unrestrained.
Tang Fei gasped softly, her fingers instinctively tightening on his collar, but he didn’t let her escape. His lips moved with urgency, tasting her, devouring the teasing smile she had been wearing. The kiss was messy at first, hungry, but then it deepened, his tongue coaxing hers, demanding more.
Her body melted against him, her earlier boldness dissolving into shivers. She kissed him back, matching his hunger, her hands slipping around his neck to pull him closer still.
The world outside vanished; there was only the heat of his mouth on hers, the pounding of her heart, and the dizzying rush of finally letting go.
