Chapter 226: Acknowledgment
The Herbalist Class didn’t end like last week.
This time, a few students approached Gara, making small talk, asking about herbs, or simply introducing themselves.
The Professor’s public acknowledgment truly changed everything.
"Look at all the Beastfolk, trying to curry favor with you," the only classmate who had spoken to Gara last week, the Harefolk girl, sneered.
Gara merely shrugged, unconcerned.
He then changed the topic. "About the upperclassman who owns rare seeds, when will we meet him?"
After chatting with the Harefolk girl last week, he was eager to plant the rare seeds which was the Autumn Seeds— in the dimensional home.
If the senior truly had the seeds, then all the hardship they had endured to reach the capital city and enroll in the academy would not have been in vain.
"He’s busy preparing for a mission in another province. Maybe we’ll meet him at the club’s first meeting," the Harefolk girl answered.
"The Herbalist Club meeting?"
The girl nodded. "Yup. Right after the Class S Duel— I think you should focus on that first."
Hearing ’Class S Duel,’ Gara wasn’t worried about the fight at all. He was only worried that the duel was still more than a month away...
which means it was also more than a month away for him got those seeds in his hands.
After talking about other rare seeds and herbs, they parted ways. Gara had to go to one of the classes he despised.
Strategy Class.
Luckily, there was no Langga blocking his way today. With a fast speed, he strode toward the other tower.
Turning a corner, Gara spotted three familiar faces standing in the hallway from a distance.
"What are you three doing here?" he asked after reaching them.
"Sir Pere said that we must sit with our teammates—" Andine’s words were cut off.
"We waited for you. We just wanted to enter class together," Madha cut in smoothly.
Gara could only shake his head. He didn’t know what he would do with his three little followers. They seemed to insist on including him in everything. If he wasn’t there, they felt uncomfortable.
"Let’s go in. You need to get to know your teammates, too, right?"
All three stood still in the hallway. Gara turned back, looking at them in confusion. "Come on in."
After a minute of silence, they finally took a step toward the class.
The chairs in the class had already been arranged into groups.
Scanning the room, Gara found Vania with her three cronies. It looked like her followers had drastically decreased.
Gara walked toward that group.
What was surprising, yet not entirely unexpected, was that the three people waiting for him in the hallway trailed after him.
"You three! Find your own team," he ordered.
"We already saw our team. We just want to talk a little bit longer with you before the Professor comes in," Madha offered a smooth excuse.
Gara could only nod. They treated him like a child. How hard could it be to face Vania?
Contrary to their expectations, Vania didn’t say anything when her gaze met Gara and his three friends. She was busy chatting with her friends, or more accurately, she was busy boasting.
"You know, my family can get first-hand information— From my family, I heard that Alrova Product will be sold in the capital city.
And the shop will be run by the merchant house that actually produces the products."
"Is that true? That means we have higher chances of buying Alrova products!" One of Vania’s followers chimed in happily.
Vania nodded with an arrogant expression. "Yes, I’ll let you know again when I get new information from my family."
Meanwhile, Gara was talking with his three friends, but they still heard Vania’s loud voice. It seemed she was intentionally letting them overhear.
But instead of becoming jealous as she wanted, Gara, Madha, and Fian were all trying hard to hold back their laughter.
Still, Gara mentally acknowledged the power of Vania’s family for knowing this exclusive information. This particular news was only shared with Alrova’s most influential partners.
This meant the Shereen Family was indeed one of those powerful partners, and they were truly serious about Alrova products.
The plan to build a shop in the capital city had only just been revealed to the people in the Dimensional Home the previous weekend, when Gara had been spending time there with the triplets.
The challenge to suppress their laughter ended when Langga entered the classroom.
From his very first step, Langga’s gaze went straight to Gara, but Gara didn’t even lift his head.
Their relationship should have improved, especially after the special training they had done alone together, but Gara couldn’t pretend for too long, choosing instead to just avoid him.
Gara kept his head down until he saw a shadow fall over him. When he looked up, his gaze met Langga’s smiling face.
"I’d like to hear the assignment from this team," Langga said, eyeing the four-member team, not one of whom returned his gaze. Gara had already looked down again.
Gara couldn’t stop swearing internally. ’You know that the teacher will also pick the most suspicious student, the one who looks most like they haven’t done the assignment. Why did I act like that?’
He glanced at his teammates and realized that not only him, but all the members of this group looked like guilty students.
Before he could continue his internal grumbling, Vania recited her assignment.
The young Professor gave her a nod. "Good progress."
Whether he was genuinely complimenting her or reminding Vania of her careless action last week, Gara didn’t care. Because it was his turn.
When Gara recited his assignment, several pairs of eyes stared at him, shining with interest. One of them was Vania, but the ginger-haired girl quickly returned to her scowling expression.
After Gara finished reading, he hoped Langga would stop giving him attention, but the silver-haired man didn’t move on to the next teammate.
Instead, he began to applaud by himself. Several people started clapping, which soon led the entire class to applaud.
’What is this now?’ Gara muttered in disgust.
...
