Chapter 223: Damage the Core Energy

Chapter 223: Damage the Core Energy

Fian’s ice spike pierced straight into her stomach.

At that close distance, Fian could see the fear in Vania’s eyes—

but it wasn’t directed at him. She was terrified of something else.

"Cough!" Blood splattered from her lips.

At the same moment, the tigers —who had begun shifting their focus away from Fian— suddenly vanished into thin air.

Several students trembled violently, still shaken by the killing intent those beasts had just aimed at them.

Before Vania completely lost consciousness, Fian caught one last look in her eyes. Relief.

It was as if she was finally free.

No one dared approach her collapsed figure on the stage.

Even though Andine had always disliked Vania, her healer’s instinct kicked in. She stepped forward and knelt beside her.

"She’s completely drained... far beyond empty," Andine said, placing a tear-shaped pill between her fingers. "I’ll give her a Healing Tear Pill, but... I’m not sure it can restore her energy core. It looks damaged."

Gasps erupted from the audience below. All eyes shifted toward Fian.

Andine quickly clarified, "The injury to her core wasn’t caused by Fian. She overused her power, draining it until the core shattered on its own."

The crowd began murmuring, offering confused comments but no solutions.

Maul had already called for a healer, but it was obvious— Vania didn’t have that kind of time.

While everyone was busy talking, Gara stepped onto the stage.

He crouched beside Vania and gently poured his water into her mouth.

"Gara, what are you doing?" Andine asked, frowning. She knew Gara could heal, but his ability had never matched hers... right?

Only their small group witnessed the act.

Then, something unexpected happened.

Vania’s pale face began to regain its color. Slowly at first, then steadily— until she looked almost normal again.

"Andine! You saved her!" one of the students shouted. Others began cheering Andine’s name.

Before she could correct them —that it was actually Gara’s water— Vania stirred.

She stood up. Completely.

Aside from slightly pale lips, there were no signs of injury. The proud, haughty expression returned to her face as if nothing had happened.

She glanced at Andine after hearing the students’ praise... then turned away without a word and left the stage.

"What an ungrateful brat!" Andine hissed. In her mind, she should be bowing down to Gara right now.

"Let it go," Gara said calmly, holding her back. "I was the one who told Fian to hold back, to let her keep using her Talent. I wanted to confirm whether she truly had an Unlimited-type ability."

Andine blinked, startled, before realizing—

of course. Gara’s way of thinking was always different. Always calculating.

Seeing that Vania had fully recovered, Maul cleared his throat and announced, "The winner is Fian!"

From afar, Vania heard it. But she didn’t care. Not after her own Talent had nearly killed her.

With the round officially over, murmurs spread across the arena again.

But this time, the students looked at Gara’s group with new eyes.

They weren’t just some team without noble backing. Except for Andine, none of them came from elite families—

yet each one possessed rare Talents and overwhelming strength worthy of Class S.

...

Vania might not have known who saved her life, but in the healer class, everyone already knew.

The rumor spread fast: Gara, the human student from Class S, had pulled off a miracle.

And, of course, the Karina girl was all too happy to tell the entire class about his heroic act.

"Everyone, we can rest easy now," Professor Damar said proudly. "We have another healer who can fight— and fight well! With talents like this, the future of us, healer, are brighter than ever!"

The class erupted in cheers.

Gara could only stare at them, stunned.

In every other class he’d joined, he was either ignored or underestimated— but here, in the healer class, they finally recognized him.

All because he saved Vania.

"Gara," Professor Damar called again, curious. "What made you think your water could save her? Your ability’s never been recorded as being effective for that kind of injury."

"I just... thought it might work," Gara admitted honestly. "It looked like she had internal damage. I’ve treated something similar once before at a village clinic. So, I just gave her my water without thinking too much about it."

He didn’t really understand what an energy core was.

To him, it felt like treating damaged organs— an internal wound that needed gentle healing.

Maybe his theory was right.

Or maybe he’d just stumbled onto a new use for his healing water.

"Not many healers specialize in treating internal injuries," Professor Damar said, his eyes lighting up. "They’re difficult to detect and even harder to heal. Perhaps with Gara here, we can start a new branch of study!"

The students cheered again, excited by the idea.

...

The next day, Gara attended another class— Water Talent Class.

"Water Talents don’t just refer to elemental water magic," explained the instructor. "It includes any Talent that manipulates water, no matter its origin."

"This year, we’re lucky," he added with a proud smile. "We have an outstanding student who awakened an invincible Water Talent, Revan Soren."

The class broke into applause.

Seated in the front row, Revan —a vampire boy with a kind smile and humble attitude— acknowledged the praise with a polite nod.

Everyone liked Revan. He was talented, charming, and approachable— the kind of student who naturally drew people in.

"Revan’s Water Stormblade is a large-scale offensive Talent," the instructor continued. "In a real battle, it can completely turn the tide in seconds."

From the third row, Gara listened quietly.

At this distance, he could catch bits of gossip from the other students.

One particular conversation caught his attention,

"They say Revan’s Talent is the successor to Commander Gavin’s."

"Yeah. We finally have someone as strong as him again."

"Too bad Commander Gavin died fighting a Mist Monster..."

In his seat, Gara blinked in confusion, Mist Monster?

What he knew was that his biological father died against druid, how it became mist monster?

...
