Chapter 241

Chapter 241: Chapter 241

At that moment, Malisa then nod her head slowly, showing that she understood everything Cora was saying. Her expression wasn’t one of disagreement, but of concern. Then with a calm voice, she said, "Cora, I understand. I do. But think about it... we’re not just dealing with numbers and shares anymore. This is much bigger. There is a larger risk at hand, and I’m not sure we’re ready for what happens if we keep pushing this away."

Then Cora folded her arms and narrow her eyes, the frustration evident on her face. "Malisa, I really don’t understand why you’re even saying this right now. I’m the one being realistic here. I’m the one who is trying to prevent us from making the exact same mistake we made before. You know how that ended, don’t you?"

Immediately Malisa try to speak, but Cora would continue, her voice sharper now. "Just imagine it. If I give Lovi a piece of my share, who is going to bear that cost? Me. I’ve already worked so hard trying to protect that share. I’ve done everything in my power to make sure ZXZ stays stable in my hands, and now you’re telling me to give a piece of it to someone who just walked in and started making demands?"

Then Malisa remain quiet, her eyes glued to Cora, who now took a step forward.

"Do you know what this means? Mr. B already owns 30%. That’s massive. If I give Lovi even 5%, that’s 5% less for me. Less control. Less influence. And more room for another disaster. You know what happened the last time we trusted someone with just 10%.I haven’t received it at this moment, and now you want me to do the same thing again?"

Cora’s voice shook slightly, not from fear, but from the pressure of balancing everything past mistakes, present decisions, and future consequences. She took a deep breath and added, "You said I’m letting sentiment grow in on me, but I think that’s exactly what’s happening to you. You’re thinking with fear, not logic. And if I’m not careful, I’ll end up losing everything just because I listened to fear."

She turned away from Malisa for a moment, staring into space, as if trying to see the outcome before it arrived. "This share isn’t just business to me. It’s survival. It’s power. It’s leverage. And I can’t give that up not for Lovi, not for anyone."

At that moment, Malisa didn’t heard that well. She wasn’t thinking it to that angle. She slowly turned to Cora, her brows lifting in surprise as the weight of what Cora had just said began to settle in her mind. "That is also a very good thing to worry about," Melissa finally said, nodding slowly. "I didn’t even think about it from that perspective."

She crossed her arms, her tone becoming more thoughtful. "But what if they actually propose this to Lovi?" she added, glancing around as if picturing how the plan might unfold. "What if Lovi helps them to identify who Mr. B really is, and then just then we are going to pressure Mr. B to actually let go of his shares and sell it to us?"

Malisa stepped closer, her voice lowering slightly. "Definitely, I’m going to propose a very useful amount of money to get it away from him. Something that would make Mr. B feel like it’s better to walk away with the cash than hold onto those shares."

She paused, then added, "Then I can give Lovie a little bit of it... just a little slice of that whole deal, as his own bargain for helping us. That definitely is going to go a long way. And it’s definitely going to be successful, and that is going to be easier for us to do, instead of giving away a chunk of our shares blindly."

Malisa looked up at Cora, expecting to see agreement on her face. But instead, what she saw was a sharp shake of the head.

At that moment, Cora then shake her head.

"No, that is even more dangerous."

Hearing what Cora just said, Malisa then raise her eyebrows slightly, her voice carrying a tone of disbelief as she leaned forward, her hands spread slightly on the table between them. "How is it even going to be dangerous?" she asked, confusion clearly painted on her face. "Like, this is a very simple something, Cora. A very straightforward deal for us to do. It’s not rocket science."

Malisa’s voice was calm, but determined, trying to make Cora see her point. She adjusted in her seat, sitting up straighter. "I don’t understand why you keep acting like this is some kind of trap. What exactly do you think is going to be dangerous if we proceed with this kind of deal?"

She was clearly trying to be reasonable, yet she couldn’t hide her frustration. In her mind, they had a golden opportunity right in front of them, and all they needed to do was take it.

Then Cora let out a quiet breath not quite a sigh, but close. She folded her arms across her chest, her eyes narrowing slightly as she responded in a voice that was low but sharp, filled with clarity.

"Just imagine what you’re saying, Malisa," she began slowly, firmly. "Do you think Mr. B is some kind of person that we can actually push around like that? Do you really think it’s going to be that easy?"

Melissa blinked, her expression shifting slightly, but Cora didn’t stop.

"No. You need to actually think about this carefully," Cora continued. "How do you think Mr. B even got his hands on all of this share this 30% share in the first place? If not for the fact that he himself is also well-connected, powerful, and definitely rich?"

She leaned closer now, her words cutting through the air with purpose.

"Do you actually think that, oh, we can just go meet him, propose a deal to him, and he’s just going to say, ’Oh, thank you for proposing this deal to me,’ and then sell it to us just like that?"
