Capítulo 1280: Chapter 1271: Collapse (Part 1)

Xia Siyu glanced at the name flashing on her phone screen and hung up without hesitation. After thinking for a moment, she blocked his number, along with his contacts on WeChat and other platforms.

After doing all this, she lifted her eyes, and there was a sharpness in her gaze.

People say that a husband and wife are like birds on the same branch, but when disaster strikes, they fly their separate ways. She and Bo Yan… it was like this seven years ago, and seven years later, it remains the same.

Although Bo Yan is always undeniably good to her, that only applies when there’s no conflict between the two of them.

In reality, this relationship seemed as if she had the upper hand everywhere. She said east, and Bo Yan dared not go west. She acted as she pleased, with Bo Yan smiling and agreeing to everything. He let her have her way, both at work and in life, without much interference—or rather, without directly interfering.

But, in life, he initially approached her forcefully, clinging on unwilling to let go. She even suspected that the night they first reconciled was orchestrated by Bo Yan himself. He had planned it all along, taking advantage of her being drunk to sleep with her, and afterward, pushing the responsibility onto her, saying she initiated it.

Okay, they reconciled later on, regardless of how it happened, she didn’t want to bother with that. Later, as Bo Yan trained and helped her to improve her acting skills, he also subtly influenced her decisions with his thoughts. Of course, they were both adults——maybe she considered Bo Yan’s opinions when making choices, but they were absolutely her own after careful thinking.

Yet, Bo Yan undeniably shaped her slowly and inadvertently. This change seemed beneficial overall, and she was grateful for his teaching her acting skills and taking care of her life. However, this control was unequal; during minor conflicts, Bo Yan might back down, but when it came to core interests, he might disregard her feelings and make decisions on his own.

Of course, people are inherently selfish. Just like how she had bluntly told Bo Yan her plans. Before turning thirty, she was determined to win an award—if she didn’t, she would not go public. Regarding children, she initially stated she didn’t want to have them. Why have children when she hadn’t sorted out her own matters—only to continue suffering with a child? But even if she softened later, she was firm on not having them before forty. Having children would delay her work and affect her career. These were her own considerations, and if Bo Yan forced her, she would divorce him.

Yet, selfish as she might be, she needed to express her thoughts, to let the other party know, rather than making decisions carelessly and silently.

Xia Siyu remained silent for a while, then another call came in. It was from Wei Jingjing.

This time, to handle matters, Qin Baizhou specifically asked Wei Jingjing to stay in Yancheng, so if anything happened, she would be there to assist. Xia Siyu thought for a moment and still answered. On the other end, Wei Jingjing asked, “Are you really going to send out that message?”

Although celebrities dislike paparazzi, they avoid offending them. After all, everyone has secrets, and an accidental offense might anger the paparazzi, those flies with pens and cameras, who would relentlessly watch her.

“Yes.” Xia Siyu nodded, “Not a word should be changed. Say it exactly as it is.”

Wei Jingjing added, “I just received a call from Bo Yan’s side too…”
