Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Seduction I
Huo’s Villa — Night
The room was quiet except for the faint ticking of the clock and the whisper of the evening breeze seeping through the curtains.
Yue Ning stood before the full-length mirror, her reflection staring back at her. The black silk lingerie shimmered faintly beneath the golden light.
The delicate lace hugged her skin in ways that made her face flush just by looking at it. Her curves were outlined with this lingerie.
She exhaled softly.
"This system is insane."
’Confidence is part of seduction,’ the system reminded in that unbothered tone.
Yue Ning rolled her eyes. "Confidence, huh..."
Still, she couldn’t deny the elegance of the piece. It wasn’t vulgar. It was just... dangerously beautiful. She slipped a silk robe over it, the thin fabric hiding to leave the imagination restless.
The mirror reflected the faintest tremor in her hand. It wasn’t from fear. It was anticipation.
When she finally walked toward the bedroom, the lights were dimmed, and the faint scent of cedar lingered in the air. It was the scent that always clung to Huo Feng.
He was sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed, scrolling through his tablet again. His glasses framed his sharp features, his shirt’s top button undone.
Yue Ning paused at the doorway, her robe brushing lightly against her thigh as she murmured, "You’re still working?"
Huo Feng raised his head, the faintest smile appearing on his lips. "Just finishing up some reports. Why? Do you miss me already?"
Her heart skipped a bit. She’d barely entered the room.
"Maybe," she replied, her voice deliberately soft. She closed the door behind her, locking it quietly.
That made him pause. His gaze lifted fully now, eyes flickering to her face, then briefly down. Though the robe hid most of what lay beneath, something about the way it draped left too many hints.
Yue Ning walked toward him slowly, her steps light, her confidence growing with every breath. She came to stand opposite him.
"What are you doing?" he asked, his tone even, but there was a faint hoarseness in it... something restrained.
"Completing a mission," she said under her breath.
He frowned slightly. "Hm?"
"Nothing," Yue Ning smiled, brushing it off. She leaned closer, her hand resting lightly on his shoulder. "You look tired."
Huo Feng tilted his head up, meeting her gaze and for once, she didn’t look away. Her fingers slid down the collar of his shirt, straightening it like a dutiful wife, but her touch lingered a heartbeat too long.
"Yue Ning," he warned gently, his voice low.
"Yes?"
"What exactly are you trying to do?"
Her lips curved faintly. "Maybe the same thing you’re thinking about."
He chuckled, that deep sound rumbling softly in his chest. "And what makes you think I’m thinking about anything improper?"
"Because you stopped scrolling the moment I walked in," she countered smoothly.
That earned her a quiet laugh. Huo Feng leaned back slightly, resting his elbows against the bed frame, his gaze darkening as it trailed up her figure. "You’re getting bolder."
Yue Ning’s lips parted slightly, but instead of backing down, she took another step closer. Her robe slipped a little—just enough for a glimpse of the lace underneath.
His breath hitched before he hid it with a smirk. "Careful," he murmured, "or I might think you’re trying to seduce me."
Her eyes gleamed, and for the first time, she met his teasing head-on. "And if I am?"
The silence that followed was electric, and filled with something unusual.
Huo Feng’s laughter came low, deliberate. "Then I suppose I should let you... try."
The faint hum of the air conditioner filled the silence between them. Yue Ning’s heartbeat drummed a wild rhythm in her chest, but on the surface, she looked calm.
Huo Feng’s gaze didn’t waver. He studied her with the quiet precision of a man who always saw too much.
And yet, this time... it was different. There was a flicker of something else in his eyes, heat restrained behind his calm façade.
Yue Ning let her fingers trace the edge of his collar again, her touch feather-light.
"You always look so composed," she said softly, voice barely above a whisper. "Sometimes, I wonder if anything ever affects you."
He tilted his head, lips curving faintly. "You’d be surprised."
Her hand stilled, her gaze flicking up to meet his. "Then maybe I want to find out."
The robe slipped another inch off her shoulder. The movement was so natural, it was almost artful. The dim light kissed her collarbone, the silk gliding like liquid shadow.
Huo Feng’s breath hitched. It was barely audible, but enough to make her lips twitch in satisfaction.
He leaned back slightly, folding his arms loosely. "You’re testing dangerous waters, Ning Ning."
"Am I?" Her tone was innocent, but her eyes weren’t.
He chuckled, a low, warm sound. "Yes. And I don’t recall giving you permission to tease your husband."
Yue Ning’s smile grew. "Then maybe you should stop me."
For a heartbeat, neither of them moved.
Then, Huo Feng slowly rose from the bed. He stood close enough for her to feel the faint brush of his breath against her forehead. The air around them shifted — heavier.
Yue Ning’s lashes fluttered, but she held her ground. "Are you... angry?"
"Do I look angry?" he asked, voice rougher than before.
Her lips curved faintly. "A little."
His laughter was soft. It was the kind that made her pulse skip. He reached up, brushing a stray strand of hair from her cheek, his fingers barely grazing her skin. "You really have changed."
Yue Ning’s smile faltered slightly. "Changed?"
"Yes." His gaze lingered, not just on her, but through her. "The woman who used to flinch from my touch now looks me straight in the eye while wearing that."
Her cheeks warmed instantly. She took a small step back, clutching her robe, but Huo Feng caught her wrist gently.
"Don’t," he murmured. "You started this. Finish it."
Yue Ning blinked, startled by how calm his tone was, no mockery, just quiet challenge.
The system’s faint chime echoed in her head: [Mission Progress: 47%]
She swallowed, forcing herself to hold his gaze. "Then tell me... what should I do, Mr. Huo?"
