Chapter 180: Showing Affection in Public
Looking at Jennings, who was crying and rushing out of her car, Hilla smiled elegantly. She smoothed back her curls on her shoulders, looked up through the window, and saw a man standing not far away. She was slightly stunned.
The smile on her face quickly faded. Sitting in the car, Hilla quietly watched the man walk toward her step by step.
He was carrying a suitcase in his hand, with a familiar look on his face. For a moment, Hilla felt that they had never been separated.
Bruce walked to the window and slowly knocked on it. "Can I get in the car?"
Hilla calmed down and finally recovered herself from thoughts. She blinked and slowly opened the trunk of the car, pressing the lock. She got sore eyes.
When Bruce sat in the car, Hilla only felt a familiar aura coming towards her, and then she was locked in a warm and familiar embrace.
"You were so fierce just now. Give me something so I’m not scared."
Bruce’s voice sounded on top of her head. His breath stirred her hair and she felt warmth.
She had been bewildered by his sudden appearance. But his strained voice had broken her heart.
She missed him badly. Hilla couldn’t help but hug him.
Hilla buried her head in Bruce’s embrace and said in a low voice, "I miss you so much!"
She missed him day and night.
Although Hilla had avoided thinking about her home and had stopped Bruce from coming to Pinecastle to find her this year, she missed him.
The approach and embrace, in reality, were different from contacting through a video call.
Only when Hilla hugged Bruce and stayed in his arms did she know that she had not lost him. After separation of a year, she still felt sweet when she hugged him.
"I miss you too, Hilla!"
Bruce’s voice wasn’t loud but sounded gently above her head. There was a hint of happiness in it.
Hilla sniffed and pursed her lips slightly. "How much did you miss me?"
"You don’t agree, but I still want to sneak a look at you and then take you back home."
Bruce smiled faintly but there was a hint of delight in his eyes. His black eyes were no longer as cold as before, revealing a faint trace of warmth and indulgence.
Hilla blushed slightly. It was not that she did not want Bruce to come to Pinecastle, but she was afraid that she would lose the courage that she had mustered when she saw Bruce.
Then, she would give up on her studies that she had yet to complete and follow Bruce back to the Anderson family regardless of the consequences.
A year ago, Anderson’s villa was a sad place for Hilla. Not a single person in the Anderson family had blamed her, but she was filled with guilt when she saw the things that Tyree had left to her.
Those things were too precious for her to accept.
Hilla chose to leave River City after the surgery not because she was afraid, but because she wanted to grow up.
Before the Holt family went bankrupt or when she was sheltered by the Anderson family, she had never received anything so precious.
Hilla came to Pinecastle because she was recommended by the college, and she wanted to separate from Bruce for a year.
It took a year to recover from the surgery. Hilla wanted to have a child. This year, she had to spend less time with Bruce, because she knew that she could not resist the temptation of Bruce. She simply gave him no chance to seduce her.
"Well, no need. I’ll go with you."
Hilla tightened her arms around Bruce and buried her head in his arms.
She didn’t want Bruce to see her red eyes, nor her cowardice.
Being hugged, Bruce felt a little helpless. If they were not at the college gate, he wouldn’t mind doing it in the car.
Of course, even though Bruce was abroad, he still needed to maintain his dignity.
Bruce took a deep breath, looked down, and said in a deep voice, "I want to praise you for not being seduced away just now. You have been so faithful to me. Is it because that you love me very much?"
Hilla frowned and complained, "Did you see that just now?"
After that, she felt that something was wrong and rolled her eyes at him. "You are such a narcissist!"
However, the narcissistic Bruce looked good to her eyes, and she still liked him. "Don’t you love me? Then I’ll get someone to call that monkey back."
"Monkey?" Hilla was confused at first and then understood. Addressing Jennings as a monkey was too insulting.
"He has a name. His name is Jennings Darren. He’s not a monkey."
"Then you like this Monkey Jennings."
Bruce said seriously, but Hilla was amused. Her grievances for the past year had disappeared.
Hilla pouted and whispered, "I like monkeys. I don’t like Monkey Jennings. I like jealous Monkey Bruce the most."
With that, Hilla couldn’t help but laugh in the car, holding her belly.
Bruce frowned. OK, he was jealous, but he did not like being a monkey.
Bruce immediately took Hilla into his arms and pressed her against the seat. He looked down and approached her. "You can only like me. You are not allowed to like monkeys."
"You’re green with envy because of the monkeys? That’s ridiculous."
Hilla pursed her lips. Then, she held Bruce’s neck and kissed him.
After kissing, Hilla commented, "It doesn’t taste special when you are green."
Bruce was surprised and said in a low and hoarse voice, "How does it taste then?"
His voice was very seductive, echoing in the car.
They were next to each other, and Hilla was confined in his arms, feeling that her shoulders were clamped by his strong arms.
However, she was not afraid or nervous.
Hilla only felt the air gradually became warm. She was familiar with this change. She blushed and blinked.
Hilla held Bruce’s neck tightly and tilted her head mischievously. "Sweet!"
She smiled sweetly. The mole under her eye was very attractive. Bruce was attracted by her. He had just suppressed the desire, and in an instant, it shot up with flames.
Bruce smiled flirtatiously and pretended to be in doubt. "Really? Then I’ll try it too."
A familiar and strong aura spread between her lips.
This kiss exposed their desires for each other.
...
Hilla didn’t expect Bruce to come to Pinecastle for business, and she also had some final classes in Pinecastle.
Hilla had originally planned to rent a house for another two months before returning to River City, but she had followed Bruce into the hotel in the end.
"Didn’t you say you were coming to Pinecastle to take me home?"
Sitting on the big bed in the hotel room, Hilla crossed her legs. It looked like she was interrogating a criminal, rolling her eyes at the back of the man who was working hard.
"Hypocrite, he was too hypocritical!"
In the past, it was said that a man could not be trusted, and now Hilla realized that Bruce, who had been married to her for two years, couldn’t be trusted either.
Bruce turned around and leaned lazily against the back of the sofa. He frowned slightly and smiled, "It’s all your fault. You didn’t allow me to find any reason to come see you."
"So?"
"I couldn’t help but miss you, so I wasn’t obedient. However, I was afraid that you would blame me, so I prepared a lot of work for myself. I didn’t expect you to miss me too. It was my fault!"
Bruce replied calmly, and his expression and attitude were extremely calm.
The higher-ups of the Anderson Group who were having a meeting were speechless.
Was Mr. Anderson crazy?
How could he speak so gently and shamelessly?
What impressed them the most was that Mr. Anderson, who usually spoke coldly to them and wanted to make them scram without a word, went so far as to coax his wife without a bottom line and said that it was his fault.
This was no longer Mr. Anderson that they were afraid of and respected. He was just a loyal dog of his wife. They deeply despised him from the bottom of their hearts. They felt disdain for him, but they dared not voice their anger...
Hilla supported her chin with her hands, but her small face didn’t show much resentment. She only said, "I also have some things to do. Do your own business."
"My good girl."
Bruce’s voice was not loud, but all the higher-ups were in the meeting heard it all.
They felt very nauseous.
"Please stop showing affection in public, Mr. Anderson."
Hilla closed the door of the room and blocked the eye contact with Bruce. She also
began to devote herself wholeheartedly to the task at hand.
It took Hilla half a day to finish her work. It was not until late at night that she finally finished registering an online shop. She put samples of ready-made garments on the internet one by one.
After that, she subconsciously sent it to Halle. Halle waited for a while before answering with a bunch of weird Emoji.
After a while, Halle said, "Emily is too naughty. She always secretly takes my mobile phone. I just bathed her and she has fallen asleep. Fortunately, you were thoughtful enough to hire a servant."
Apparently, it didn’t occur to Halle that looking after the child by herself was beyond her power, especially for a young child. There were too many unexpected things.
Before Hilla went abroad, she had invited a servant to take care of Halle and Emily in the countryside, which made Halle feel relieved.
Hilla replied with a smile, "She knows that it’s her aunt who won’t do anything to her. She found a pushover. She is smart."
Halle was too lazy to tease her and directly said, "Let’s get down to business. I selected some of the pictures you sent me a few days ago and made them into finished products. I made them according to your size. I recently found that the live broadcast and online videos are the most popular. When you come back in a while, I want you to bring it in live."
Within a year, Halle had gradually bought a piece of land in the countryside and built a studio that belonged to them, Halle & Hilla Studio.
Hilla designed all the clothes in this studio, but the materials and handicrafts were all made by Halle herself.
On this point, the sisters had their advantages. Hilla was smart and good at design. Halle was meticulous. The handwork and sewing she had done since she was a child were better than Hilla’s.
Although Hilla had learned a lot, when it came out, she was inferior to Halle’s delicacy.
After all, embroidery required meditation, and Hilla knew that She was always more lively than quiet.
"Live commerce? Me? But I don’t have any popularity at home. The live commerce will be awkward!"
Wouldn’t it be embarrassing if she didn’t have a single fan?
Halle did not care, "Your beautiful appearance is enough!"
Hilla was only twenty-two years old, and she didn’t have to worry about her sister’s appearance.
Hilla replied with okay, but Halle didn’t respond.
Knowing that Halle was going to take care of the child, Hilla didn’t disturb her any longer. She just lay on the bed obediently, thinking about the last part of her schoolwork.
There was also a design that needed to be handed over to her professor. After handing it over, she could say goodbye to Pinecastle.
However, Hilla thought of the live commerce when she returned to River City. She suddenly felt a sense of dizziness.
They wanted to create their own brand and push out the unique embroidery techniques of the Holt Corporation. Everything would start from scratch.
A person who never understood marketing was about to open a shop. Hilla couldn’t help but grab the quilt on her body and roll twice.
This challenge was too much for her!
When Bruce returned to the room, Hilla had already fallen asleep. He had just gone to bed when Hilla, who was on the bed, turned around and came into his arms.
Bruce was stunned and said, "Still not asleep?"
"I was already asleep, and then you woke me up."
Soft and powerless complaining. Bruce suddenly felt a warm ripple in his heart, quickly spreading through his body.
The man in front of her instantly stiffened and his breathing became heavier, "We didn’t do anything in the car this morning. Can we continue?"
Although the passionate kiss in the car was particularly tempting, the space and the environment were limited. They were restrained.
When they returned to the hotel, they only obediently rested for lunch.
Now Bruce suddenly hugged Hilla in his arms on the bed. That feeling was unexpected for a thirty-two-year-old man who had been alone for a year!
Bruce could endure it during the day, but it seemed like he couldn’t endure it at night.
What’s more, Bruce had been keeping his integrity for a year. The mood he had been waiting for so long now devoured his restless heart.
Hilla in his arms was stunned for a moment. After a while, she turned around and broke free from Bruce’s embrace. She said softly, "No!"
No?
Why not? Bruce had all set. He was waiting for it. But Hilla refused...
Bruce frowned. He pulled Hilla back into his arms. He whispered in her ear, "You don’t want it, but I do."
"I refuse!"
"I object!"
"Bruce, is that why you came to Pinecastle?"
Bruce stopped and looked at Hilla in his arms who rolled her eyes. He thought for a moment and said, "More for you than for this."
Anyway, it was her job. She couldn’t run away!
