Chapter 199: It Has Nothing To Do with You

Chapter 199: It Has Nothing To Do with You

Hilla left the restaurant without taking a bite of the food, and she rushed to the building of the Anderson Group.

She calmed down when she reached the door. Just now, she was angry. However, why did she come here?

Just as she was about to turn around and leave, she bumped into James who had just returned from outside.

Seeing Hilla, James subconsciously thought that she was here to look for Bruce, so he quickly pulled Hilla to the exclusive elevator.

"I haven’t been here for a long time. It seems that nothing has changed here."

She had been abroad for a year, and now she thought back to the days when she had been an intern in the Anderson Group, she still had a feeling that nothing had changed.

James could not help but say, "It has changed. Rudi isn’t in the Anderson Group now."

Then, James moved closer to her and whispered, "The company is much quieter. Even the air is much fresher."

In the past, when Bruce was in the Anderson Group, he often made waves. He could do nothing to Bruce, so he would use some small matters to show off his status in the company.

Back when Hilla had been an intern in the Anderson Group, she had seen what Rudi did.

She couldn’t help but smile. The elevator door opened and all people at the door had seen her and James talking with smiles.

Hilla didn’t mind and walked straight to Bruce’s office after exiting the elevator.

The frightened assistant turned around and quickly went to the break room. She whispered to her colleagues in the office.

"I saw Mrs. Anderson and James in the elevator."

The person beside her laughed and said, "It must be Mr. Anderson who asked James to pick up Mrs. Anderson downstairs."

Bruce was so considerate to his wife, but James was a little pitiful.

The assistant shook her head in fear and said, "I saw Mrs. Anderson and James looking at each other in the elevator. They were talking with smiles. I don’t know if it was my illusion, but they looked so loving. James looked at Mrs. Anderson with burning eyes."

She just felt that she found Hilla and James’ secret.

She was worried that James would target her and take avenge on her.

The surrounding people all sucked in a breath of cold air. They had a good gossip about Hilla and James.

Hilla had an affair with James. It was so dramatic!

Bruce and James were also so friendly. When they stood together, one was domineering and overbearing, and the other was obedient, sensible, and careful in doing things. They were clearly a perfect match.

However, Bruce was actually a straight man and married such a young and beautiful woman.

In the past, when Hilla was interning in the Anderson Group, they didn’t know Hilla was Bruce’s wife. Now that they knew about it, they felt that James was pitiful.

From the looks of it now, the story among Hilla, James, and Bruce was dramatic.

Originally, James, the young special assistant, and Hilla, the beautiful university student loved each other, but Bruce, the rich boss, took Hilla off James’ hands, so Hilla and James could only have an affair.

Occasionally, when Hilla and James met in the elevator, they would be able to secretly chat and show their love to each other. They were deeply in love!

Hilla didn’t expect that she just took the same elevator with James, but others of the Anderson Group would think she had cuckolded Bruce.

James was happy because he had received his subsidy for a business trip. But all the colleagues in the office thought he was happy to see Hilla. How touching!

And soon, they saw Bruce holding Hilla’s hand with great care and leaving the company, leaving James standing in front of the window and making a call.

James looked lonely and pitiful!

"You don’t have to send me home. I can take a taxi myself."

Hilla did not expect Bruce to personally send her home. Thinking that he was still at work, she felt she had bothered him.

She just happened to walk by unintentionally, but she did not expect to disturb his work.

She felt a little ashamed.

"Then I am your driver."

Bruce brought her into the car, then turned around and got into the driver’s seat.

Hilla was obviously absent-minded when she came, and she felt uneasy because Bruce insisted on sending her back in person.

When she returned to the Lakeshore Center, she asked Bruce to go back. Hilla didn’t go upstairs, but took out her phone and called Queeney.

"Mrs. Richards, why did you do this? Julian and I have nothing to do with each other."

Queeney had dragged Julian into the matter, which made Hilla feel very uncomfortable.

She thought that she and Julian would never have any contact, but now she had to owe Julian a favor, even if he did not do anything.

"I am a businessman. You are unwilling to talk about cooperation as Mrs. Anderson, and then I can only regard you as Ms. Holt. Moreover, you said you have nothing to do with Julian. I think Mr. Jorgansen does not think so."

Queeney’s voice was still so elegant, but Hilla was annoyed when she heard Queeney’s words.

If Queeney was a scoundrel, she would definitely not hesitate to beat her up.

However, Queeney was not. She had the Richards Group behind her.

"You have gone too far. I’m already married. Julian won’t agree to such an absurd condition because of me. Moreover, you can’t threaten him with me."

"No, he has agreed!"

"What did you say?"

Hilla tightened her grip on her phone. She didn’t know if it was because she was too close, but she felt as if she hadn’t heard Queeney’s words clearly.

"You’re too modest. I think Mr. Jorgansen cares about you more than you think."

How ridiculous this was! Hilla felt like laughing when she heard this.

Hilla said in a low voice, "I want to see you!"

"Ms. Holt, you just need to wait for the Holt family’s design paintings."

"I want to see you!"

Hilla’s voice became colder, with a trace of toughness. Queeney, who was on the other side of the phone, was slightly stunned, and her expression also changed.

Queeney told Hilla her current location.

Hilla put away her phone, turned around, and ran out of the community. She had just met Julian and she refused his help. Why did he take the trouble to do that?

Hilla thought, "Is he trying to make me feel indebted to him?" Hilla didn’t know what Julian was thinking.

Julian knew that Queeney had planned this, but he still chose to jump into the trap.

Hilla thought of 300 million dollars that Queeney had mentioned to her, as well as a piece of land of the Anderson family in Brightbush City. It was obvious that the Cloud Garden in Moon City would be more valuable.

She did not want Bruce to be involved in this mess. Why did Julian meddle in her affairs?

Did Julian think he was closer to her than Bruce?

Hilla sneered. It was only then that she realized that Julian had changed.

...

When Hilla saw Queeney, she was still as elegant as last time. They met at the same place as before, but there was a hint of joy on Queeney’s face.

After all, the Richards Group had just gotten the development right of the Cloud Garden in Moon City, so Queeney was happy.

Hilla stood at the door, her face cold. Her gaze fell directly on Queeney’s face, and she frowned slightly.

She used to think that Queeney was so elegant that it made people envious. Now, she thought Queeney was hateful.

"You are in a hurry to take back the Holt family’s design paintings, right? Don’t worry. I won’t break my word. As long as I sign an agreement with the Jorgansen Group..."

"I won’t let Julian give the project to you!"

Hilla walked up to Queeney and looked at the surprised Queeney. She smiled and said, "I really don’t know where you got your confidence from. I also don’t know what you use to threaten Julian. Is it my relationship with him? Or the Holt family’s design paintings in your hands?"

"I’m a Holt, but Julian isn’t. He doesn’t care if the Holt family can make a comeback. It has nothing to do with him."

After Queeney was stunned for a moment, she quickly reacted. She gave a smile.

"You’re reminding me that I can’t threaten Julian with you. But it’s not up to you. Mr. Jorgansen has agreed."

"He won’t agree to it!"

Hilla said firmly. Queeney immediately felt what Hilla was going to do, and she frowned.

She stood up from the sofa and asked with a worried face, "What are you going to do?"

Hilla gave a faint smile and said, "Since you think that I have such a great effect on Julian, he can give you the project of the Cloud Garden for me, then surely as long as I say a word, he will change his mind."

"How dare you!"

"I dare!"

Hilla said coldly. She wanted to take back those things of the Holt family, but she would never accept Julian’s goodwill at will.

Regardless of the reason why Julian agreed to this condition of Queeney, she did not want to owe Julian this favor.

Moreover, she, Hilla, was not a condition that anyone could use as an exchange for

benefits.

"Ms. Holt, don’t make the decision on a whim. Isn’t this a good thing? You don’t spend money, and you even don’t need to trouble the Andersons. You can take back the Holt family’s design paintings without batting an eyelid. I also promised you that I would not use any techniques in those design paintings in the future. This is pretty good for us."

Queeney’s expression was grave, and her voice was already stern.

Queeney felt that she had only made use of the past relationship between Hilla and Julian. Hilla had married Bruce.

As long as Hilla, Julian, and she didn’t say anything, Hilla would continue to be Mrs.

Anderson.

The Richards Group could obtain the development right of the Cloud Garden, and then she could borrow money from the bank again and let the company survive this crisis. Other than Hilla damaging some reputation, everyone could get the greatest benefits.

Hilla turned around and smiled, looking at Queeney coldly.

"It seems that you are very satisfied with your means."

Queeney made use of Hilla’s private life and feelings to exchange for benefits. It was simply ridiculous to the extreme.

Queeney had made use of Hilla and wanted Hilla to cooperate. Was there anything wrong with Hilla not cooperating?

"You can threaten me with these things. I admit that I care a lot about these things of the Holt family. If you implicate others, then I won’t cooperate with you."

"Hilla!"

Queeney looked at Hilla and was so angry that her face was stiff. She shouted Hilla’s name angrily.

Hilla did not turn around at all, nor did she have any intention of looking at Queeney behind her. She quickly disappeared at the door.

Queeney didn’t allow Hilla to destroy the things she had obtained with great difficulty. She lowered her head and was about to take out her phone, but a person suddenly snatched her phone.

"What are you doing?"

Queeney looked at Rigel who appeared suddenly and her face darkened. Rigel was her son. Why did he want to stop her?

She did it for the Richards Group and Rigel.

"Mom, as I said, Hilla is not the kind of girl you can threaten and control."

Queeney looked at Rigel and sneered, "Are you telling me how to select talents?

Hilla is indeed hard to threaten, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do anything with her."

Because she had something important to the Holts in her hands.

It didn’t matter if Hilla didn’t listen to her, she would give Hilla a lesson.

Rigel looked at Queeney and his face darkened.

...

After talking to Queeney, Hilla went directly to Julian.

Although Hilla knew that the location of the Jorgansen Group’s branch company in River City, she was still very rational and didn’t directly come to Julian. She just sat on a bench in a park and called him coldly.

The phone was connected for a long time, and it seemed that Julian was a little inconvenient to answer the phone.

However, Hilla didn’t give up. She hung up and called him again.

The third time, the phone finally connected. Julian’s voice came through, and there was still a bit of noise beside him.

"You gave the Richards Group the development right of the Cloud Garden in Moon City!"

Hilla got straight to the point. Julian was stunned for a moment, and then whispered to her, "Wait for a moment."

There seemed to be someone by Julian’s side. After a while, when he replied to her again, his surrounding was obviously quiet.

He should have returned to his office.

"The Richards Group is the partner we’re considering this time. The agreement has not been signed yet."

Julian’s response didn’t satisfy Hilla. She said, "As I said, I don’t need your help with my matters, and I don’t want you to interfere with this matter."

She had grown up. She was not a child. She could take on her responsibilities.

Moreover, she had always felt that she could protect Holt Corporation and her family since she was a child. She never needed to stand behind others and let others take care of her.

Julian was silent for a moment before saying, "What did Queeney say to you?"

Hilla bit her lip and said, "She said you have given the Richards Group the development right of the Cloud Garden in Moon City. Is it because..."

"Giving the development right of the Cloud Garden to the Richards Group requires most of the directors to agree. It is not up to me. If the company really gave this project to the Richards Group in the end, it is the decision of the company. It has nothing to do with you."

It had nothing to do with her, so she didn’t have to blame herself, didn’t have to feel guilty. She could take back the things of the Holt family with a clear conscience.

Hilla gripped the cell phone in her hand tightly. After hearing Julian’s words, she felt sad!
