Chapter 188: He Deserves a Better Woman

Chapter 188: He Deserves a Better Woman

As expected, the network could be very deceiving. Hilla smiled coldly.

She only put on some light makeup and changed her clothes, and these people couldn’t recognize her. Was it because of the veil on her face?

Hilla smiled faintly. She saw a lot of slanders on the internet, and not showing emotion was the scariest situation to Bruce.

Needless to say, his wife was angry!

"Did you tell me that everything on the Internet is fake and that I shouldn’t believe any of it?"

Bruce tried to calm her down but her emotionless smile terrified him. When Hilla showed that kind of smile, something terrible always happened.

Bruce regretted letting out those tidbits. He did this to make Hilla’s identity clear, but it ended up causing more suspicion from the public.

It made everyone wonder what that gorgeous woman that Bruce retweeted looked like.

Although she was covered in a veil in the video, one could still see how beautiful she was.

People were more curious about what would happen next since there was a domestic calamity with Mr. Anderson.

After all, this kind of drama didn’t happen every day.

"Those videos were all fake. Are those people blind?"

She was legally Bruce’s wife, but people were treating her like a pitiful home wrecker.

What was more, they were saying that she was not beautiful enough. She was clearly very beautiful.

They could doubt her identity or look, but no one could doubt her beauty.

As someone who valued her beauty over everything, she refused to take those comments.

So the second day, many photos of Mrs. Anderson flooded the internet.

Mrs. Anderson had to be beautiful!

Bruce was speechless when he saw what Hilla did. Was she competing with herself?

Sure enough, a woman’s mind was so hard to guess.

However, since Mrs. Anderson showed up, people got more curious about the mysterious woman in the video.

That woman must be out of this world if she made Mrs. Anderson so nervous.

Halle took a few more orders from their online store, and they all ordered the clothes that Hilla wore under the grape trellis.

For each design pattern, they would only sell three pieces.

That was to say, unless people wear the same design on propose, they would never find someone wearing the same design in their city.

This was their way to ensure the quality of Halle & Hilla.

Since their online shop got more web traffic, the live stream became more stressful. However, Roger, who used to be even more enthusiastic than them, quit all of a sudden.

Not only did he refuse to make more videos for them, but he also deleted all the materials he filmed.

That was a little bit oversensitive.

Hilla looked at Halle in silence. Halle sighed, "Isn’t this your debt of love?"

Did it have anything to do with her? Roger was too unreliable.

Since there was no cameraman or editor, Hilla planned to do it herself. However, when she told Bruce about it, he pondered for a moment and said, "Actually, I can do it."

Hilla raised her eyebrows, "You are going to hand these jobs to your secretary, aren’t you?"

She knew that Bruce got a lot of people under his command, and even James was on standby 24 hours a day. Bruce could definitely find someone who knew how to make videos.

It was clearly a scheme!

"This is my own business, and don’t want you to get involved. I want to prove that I don’t have to rely on you to survive."

Bruce spoke slowly, "What’s wrong with relying on me?"

Didn’t she like money? He got the money that she could spend for three lifetimes. If Hilla asked for his help, she could establish her brand much easier.

But Hilla shook her head, "I don’t like it. I can do it on my own, and so can my sister."

Making the embroidery of the Holt family into a brand had always been her father’s wish. The sisters just wanted to accomplish it with their own hands.

Bruce didn’t argue with her. Just let her do what she wanted, and she would come back to him in the end.

"River City got a lot of talented people. You can look for them online."

Bruce didn’t push Hilla anymore. Instead, he sent her a link to the River City hiring

page.

The people on that page didn’t work for Bruce, so she could find anyone she liked without feeling burdened. She got to pay them anyway.

Soon, Hilla found the right person. It was a guy called Alvin. He was even more professional than Roger.

He was clearly an expert. Someone at his level must be very expensive to hire!

Hilla made up her mind and asked about his salary expectations. To her surprise, it was not high at all.

However, he told Hilla that he wouldn’t show up and take the video. He requested Hilla to film the materials and send them to him for editing.

Hilla felt like she was tricked.

However, when she sent him the videos, his editing was not only fast, but the quality was also really good. It was impossible to tell that the video was not taken by a professional cameraman.

Editing was everything after all!

After Hilla told Halle about the editor, Halle didn’t show much expression.

She frowned slightly as she looked at the orders accumulated in her hands, "Some of the clothes they ordered require special silk, and you can only buy them from a particular silk shop. We cannot find it in the countryside."

Thus she and Hilla would have to go back to River City for a while. She remembered both the Tyson family and the Hutt Group had silk factories, especially the Hutt Group. Their silk had the best quality.

They might have to order more from them.

Hilla glanced at the materials and frowned slightly. In fact, she knew where she should obtain the material from just a glance.

Hilla thought for a moment and whispered, "Sis, why don’t I go by myself? Someone needs to take care of Emily and the studio. Why don’t you stay here?"

Hilla thought Halle would refuse. After all, Halle was the one who had been taking care of the materials.

She didn’t expect that Halle could be so straightforward. Halle nodded, "Come back as soon as possible. You can ask brother-in-law to help if necessary."

So? Her sister sold her just like that?

...

Hilla moved closer to Halle and beamed. "Halle, is it because you don’t want to go back to River City or you have no guts to see Horton?"

Halle would put on a long face immediately and leave without a word if it was someone else who made a joke of her. But it was out of Hilla. Halle answered though she felt offended, "Neither. It’s because I don’t want to stir up trouble."

Halle’s answer made Hilla suspect that there was something she didn’t know in the past year. She frowned and asked, "Halle, did the Hutts get you in trouble again? Why do they keep bothering you as you have moved to the countryside? Why don’t they let you go as it’s Horton’s fault of having feeling for you?"

Hilla couldn’t help but get infuriated when mentioning this. Halle’s studio could be unveiled half a year ago if Horton didn’t come to the countryside for her. That allowed the Hutts to harass her.

Halle glanced at Hilla who was too concerned about Halle’s matter. Halle replied calmly, "It’s understandable that parents don’t want their children to marry someone unsuitable. Dr. Hutt is an excellent man who deserves a better woman."

"But they can’t treat you like this!"

"Take it easy. Why don’t you seize this opportunity to go back to River City and spend some quality time with Bruce? He will be very happy to see you. You have been gone for a year and have spent your time here since you’re back. Is he still a normal man?"

Halle’s words confused Hilla as Hilla didn’t understand why Bruce could be an abnormal man.

Hilla looked at Halle bewilderedly, having no clue about what Halle was talking about.

Halle could not help but laugh at Hilla who had a blank look, "A normal man would have an affair with some woman long ago if his wife had been absent so long."

Halle’s words were half out of teasing and half of reminding. Hilla was stunned for a moment and then stared at Halle with a frown after coming to her sense.

"If he is determined to betray me, I can do nothing."

Hilla muttered in a low voice with a pout on the face. Hearing this, Halle couldn’t help but smile.

Halle attached more importance to Hilla’s bliss than hers. To Halle, it didn’t matter if she was happy or not, but her sister should lead a happy life.

"As long as you’re OK with him having an affair with another woman, I’m totally fine. But I suggest you take him by surprise to check whether he has betrayed you in the past year."

Though Halle made light of this issue, Hilla got worried about it now.

Hilla looked at Halle, baffled, "Halle, why do you keep speaking ill of Bruce today?"

Hilla remembered that Halle used to take Bruce’s side and always spoke for him.

Now Hilla suspected that something had changed.

Halle pretended nothing had happened and continued her business, "Do I? I don’t take it that. It’s just something that could happen at any time. And as Bruce is so outstanding that other women may want to have an affair with him while you’re away. But if you don’t want to hear such words, you can pretend to hear nothing."

But how could Hilla pretend to hear nothing as Halle had finished talking?

Sometimes humans had difficulty in forgetting things as these things had worked their way into human’s minds.

Just like now, Hilla couldn’t care less about whether Bruce really betrayed her.

Hilla believed in Bruce before Halle said that. Now Halle’s words prompted Hilla to consider going back to have a check on Bruce’s schedule.

Hilla suspiciously observed Halle who was rapt in cutting the fabric and showed no trace of guilt and uneasiness.

However, Halle’s easiness made Hilla uneasy now.

Why did Hilla feel more unhappy as she kept thinking about this?

"Halle, will it be too late for me to go back now?"

After a while, Hilla finally asked. It seemed that she rushed back worriedly at this moment as it was getting dark outside.

Although she did not mean that, she indeed wanted to check the situation.

Humans tended to be like this. They said that they believed in their partners, but they still held suspicion at their partners when there was a possibility of betrayal.

Bruce had never come for Hilla when she was away in the past year, though she had asked him to do so.

Moreover, the two of them did not spend much time together after she was back.

To be specific, they didn’t even have a proper talk. Hilla came to the countryside as soon as possible and left Bruce alone. Bruce seldom had time to be with Hilla since he was busy as the CEO of the Anderson Group, not to mention came to the countryside with Hilla.

Hilla got more worried about Bruce who might commit adultery.

Once the thought emerged, it wouldn’t vanish until being proven wrong. Before Halle could reply, Hilla continued, "It’s won’t. River City is not far from here."

Halle reminded as she saw that Hilla determined to leave for River City, "The road here is tough with many trucks. Take your time when driving back to River City. Don’t drive too fast."

Although having reminded Hilla, Halle still felt worried. Halle regretted saying those words to Hilla at this time as Hilla’s reaction was out of Halle’s expectation.

However, Hilla didn’t take Halle’s words to heart.

"Don’t worry. It’s not my first day getting a driver’s license. And I’m already an adult now!"

Though Hilla’s joke eased Halle a little, Halle still got worried and reminded again, "Be careful on the road. There are too many trucks in the countryside. It’s a tough road."

Hilla nodded and walked to her car joyfully.

Although she went back to River City to run business, she felt jovial as she could see Bruce in her spare time.

Halle sighed when seeing Hilla left. Meanwhile, Halle couldn’t help but feel relieved.

She took out the phone smilingly and texted Bruce.

"Hilla drives to River City now. It would be late when she got there."

Bruce texted back quickly with a few words, "Thanks, Halle."

His reply made Halle still worry about Hilla. Though Halle said those words to Hilla out of Bruce’s request that was for the couple’s sake, she felt distressed when seeing Hilla got nervous.

The car drove on the mountain road and soon passed through the forest area to the bustling River City.

Hilla pursed her lips when driving. She kept recalling the words Halle just said.

Hilla was away for a year and came to the countryside right after coming back. What to hold her and Bruce together when they were separated?

Love? It was hard to say.

In the Lakeshore Center of River City, the water was clear and the fountain in the middle of the lake was shining with changing lights to form a beautiful flower now and then.

A red car appeared in the neighborhood and soon stopped steadily in the parking lot. A slim figure slowly got out of the car.
