Chapter 767: Chapter 767: Transfer
They gathered together as if discussing something, and soon Qiao En was pushed out of the crowd. Seeing that Qiao En was standing still without any intention of moving, someone in the crowd spoke up: "You were the one who started this whole thing. We made the choice because of your instigation. Since we are in such an awkward position because of you, you have to take full responsibility for us."
Qiao En was trembling with anger at the shameless words of the other party, but he didn’t dare to retort at this time, because now people were facing the possibility of losing their jobs, and their emotions were running very high. It wasn’t a wise choice to provoke them now; he might as well be torn to pieces by these people.
Qiao En clenched his fists, cursing internally those who pushed him out when trouble arose, and then walked over to one of the security guards, asking, "Uh, is the manager of your factory an Asian? Is his name Xu Ke?"
The security guard who was spoken to suddenly tensed the hand behind his back, fearing that Qiao En would do something bad to him, but seeing that the other party just asked him a question, he relaxed slightly, stiffly replying briefly, "Yes."
Upon hearing this answer, Qiao En felt a blackness before his eyes, as if the sky was spinning, but fortunately, his lower body was stable enough, and he didn’t show any signs of embarrassment.
"Then were you also hired by him to work here?" Qiao En asked again.
"Yes."
"Did he tell you what happened to the original employees of the factory?" If not obstructed, Qiao En would almost shake the answer out of the other party by grabbing the person’s shoulders with both hands.
But before he could make a move, he was already isolated, preventing him from harming the security guard.
The security guard was comforted by his colleague’s protection and was not so afraid of Qiao En, and responded, "Our manager didn’t say anything about that."
Upon hearing this answer, Qiao En’s face turned green with anger. "What does Xu Ke mean by this? We haven’t resigned yet, so how can he just replace us with others? By doing so, he’s already infringing on our rights. We can sue him, you know." Qiao En said loudly, with dissatisfaction on his face.
As luck would have it, Xu Ke walked into the protesting crowd and heard what Qiao En was saying. He couldn’t help but chuckle, "Sue me? What will you use to sue me with? What right do you have to sue me?"
Upon hearing Xu Ke’s voice, people instinctively looked in the direction of the sound. Seeing that it was Xu Ke who appeared, each face showed excitement, but Xu Ke acted as if he didn’t see it, and walked along the path cleared by the crowd to stand in front of Qiao En.
"You all were absent from work for a week without any reason. According to the labor contract we initially signed, we have automatically terminated the employment relationship. You have no connection with my factory anymore. I advise you to go back and find a job quickly. Staying here and causing trouble won’t lead to any result." Xu Ke said, with one hand in his pocket, wearing glasses with a silver frame, which made him look refined, not aggressive, and almost juvenile.
Qiao En didn’t expect this explanation, and for a moment, he was stunned.
Xu Ke’s voice was loud, and many people heard him. Now that they knew this was their outcome, one by one, either stood there in a daze like Qiao En or broke into tears, unable to believe that this was indeed the case.
"No, this is all fake, you’re lying to us. When did we sign this? How come we don’t know? Qiao En, quickly tell us that he’s lying, that this deceitful, sneaky Asian is lying!" Someone in the crowd pointed at Xu Ke’s nose and said, hoping for another outcome, one they were willing to hear, but how could that be possible?
Qiao En stood under the sun but couldn’t feel a bit of warmth belonging to it, feeling as though he had fallen into a freezer, surrounded by cold.
How could he forget such an important thing? How could he forget? How could he possibly forget? With red eyes, Qiao En regrettably and angrily kept pounding his head.
At this moment, Qiao En dared not raise his head to look at the expressions of his former colleagues, but even without looking, he could imagine how much these people hated and blamed him, how much they wished to tear him apart.
"Qiao En, why aren’t you speaking? Why don’t you loudly tell this yellow-skinned monkey in front of you that we never signed that damn thing? Why don’t you say it? Why don’t you speak!" Someone in the crowd faintly guessed something from Qiao En’s state, but they didn’t want to believe it. They subconsciously dismissed this possibility entirely, wholeheartedly wanting Qiao En to deny it with words, as if the issue would disappear if Qiao En denied it.
But Qiao En let them down.
"He has no way of saying such things because he remembers what he signed. Even if you are unwilling to believe it, this is an unchangeable and undeniably fact. Staying here to protest won’t lead to any result; it’s just a waste of time. Go back." After Xu Ke finished speaking, the place fell silent. Xu Ke didn’t give them another chance to speak and directly walked into the factory, instructing the security guards to pay attention to safety and prevent the crowd from rushing in.
Listening to Xu Ke’s small instructions, the security guards were still puzzled. Isn’t everything already explained pretty clearly? Why the specific advice? As long as they had some common sense, they would know that what Xu Ke said was true. The fact that Xu Ke didn’t even use lawyers to prosecute them was already a mercy; where did they have the right to blame Xu Ke?
But these security guards greatly underestimated human nature. Not long after Xu Ke entered the factory, they knew why Xu Ke had specifically instructed them before leaving.
After Xu Ke left, the crowd fell into a brief silence, but soon the atmosphere began to turn wrong. Nobody knew who started speaking first, "It’s all because of Qiao En. If it wasn’t for Qiao En inciting us, we wouldn’t have made this mistake. We wouldn’t have lost our jobs; it’s all Qiao En’s fault."
Human nature is ugly. Clearly, when Qiao En made the suggestion, they agreed without consideration, even harbored some anticipation of watching a good show, wanting to see Xu Ke embarrassingly driven out of the factory, unexpectedly ending up causing trouble for themselves.
But they would never admit they made a mistake. They would only keep making excuses for themselves, then placing the blame on others, and Qiao En was the best choice.
