Chapter 272: Turning Point
The aerial battle presented a bizarre spectacle.
The two massive black giants, like loyal bastions, stood at the forefront, enduring the furious assaults of the God of Blades.
The god’s bone blades, transcending mortal metal, effortlessly sliced through space with each swing, capable of cleaving a black giant in two with a casual strike!
Yet, such wounds, fatal to most beings, had little effect on the giants.
As bio-engineered beasts of pure elemental energy, they were highly resistant to physical cutting attacks.
Their severed surfaces bled no blood, only flowing with searing energy and rapidly self-repairing textures.
No sooner had the God of Blades’ strikes passed than the torn bodies healed in a flicker of energy, like ripples briefly parting water.
“ROAR!”
One black giant lowered its head, opening its maw toward the dense Holy Servant army below—not to roar, but to absorb ferociously!Instantly, the heat in a fan-shaped area below was siphoned away, the air plunging to unimaginable cold.
Thousands of Holy Servants froze into varied ice sculptures before they could scream.
Then, the giant raised its head, blending the absorbed heat with its own destructive energy, unleashing a meters-wide blazing white torrent toward the God of Blades!
The god’s eyes flashed with disdain, his bone blade slicing lightly.
The energy beam, capable of melting mountains, was precisely bisected as if it were solid, the split streams grazing his divine form and vaporizing distant clouds.
During their clash, a group of freed third-rank wizards hovered at a distance, relentlessly bombarding the God of Blades with spells.
Though each attack dealt minimal damage, their cumulative effect was not to be underestimated.
But whenever the god tried to target the bothersome wizards, a distorted force field rippled around the black giants.
It was their inherited talent: Time Dilation Field!
Within this field, the god’s lightning-fast attacks became “slow” and “clear,” giving the third-rank wizards time to reposition or counter.
While the Time Dilation Field had little effect on the god himself, it greatly hindered his attacks.
The giants and third-rank wizards’ synergy heavily restrained him, trapping him in a quagmire where his vast power couldn’t be fully unleashed.
As the aerial stalemate persisted, Jie Ming on the ground faced a grueling battle.
Without the black giants as his strongest shield, he alone confronted the tidal waves of Holy Servants and occasional Holy Spirit ambushes, the pressure mounting.
His “Grand Radiance” continued to pour out devastating firepower, but the three energy discs at its core visibly dimmed.
Finally, after an overloaded salvo cleared a vast area, the discs’ glow faded completely—energy depleted!
“Trouble…” Jie Ming clicked his tongue, swiftly switching to agile maneuvers and instant-cast spells to hold his ground.
Fortunately, as time passed, more formal wizards poured from the gate.
Forming battle arrays, they cast large-scale joint spells, stabilizing the ground battle and freeing Jie Ming from his lone struggle.
As Jie Ming caught his breath, pondering how to break the aerial stalemate or find alternative energy for the Grand Radiance…
Buzz!!!
A deep, world-shaking hum erupted from the spatial gate!
Under the stunned gazes of all, the gate, originally a kilometer wide, expanded as if pried open by an invisible giant hand!
In mere breaths, its diameter surged to nearly two kilometers!
This sudden change brought a moment of dead silence to the battlefield.
The frenzied expressions of the Holy Servants, buoyed by their growing advantage, froze into terror.
The wizards erupted in earth-shaking cheers!
They knew this meant Lord Dionysius Spencer had finally stabilized and widened the passage on the other side!
More, stronger bio-beasts, war golems, and organized wizard legions flooded from the now-doubled gate like a unleashed deluge!
The fresh forces instantly turned the ground battle, pushing back the Holy Servants’ lines.
Yet, this “surge” lasted less than half a minute before abruptly halting.
The Holy Servants froze, a flicker of hope rekindling.
Was there a problem with the passage?
But the wizards’ ecstatic expressions grew even more fervent, bordering on pious zeal.
Jie Ming clearly sensed an indescribably vast will attempting to cross from the gate’s other side.
Its presence was so immense that even the widened gate seemed “narrow.”
Its crossing, like a whale passing through a chasm, caused violent spatial ripples and a brief “lag.”
Finally, the will “squeezed” through!
It had no tangible form, manifesting as an invisible, intangible wave that swept every corner of the Sacred Continent in an instant!
Mountains, rivers, cities, beings, and even the flowing energy in the air…
All secrets were laid bare under this wave.
Jie Ming was all too familiar with this sensation, having experienced it several times in the Elosia Plane—a powerful technique unique to fate-aligned wizards, scanning an entire plane’s information flow!
The wave came and went swiftly, retracting in an instant.
Then, a calm yet supremely authoritative voice rang directly in the soul of every wizard on the battlefield, clear as a whisper:
“Plane scan complete. Highest energy signature confirmed as fifth-tier, with no signs of sixth-tier or above.”
“Orders: Eliminate all resistance and occupy this plane.”
“Everyone… kill them all.”
The last four words, spoken by Wizard Dionysius Spencer, were light, almost casual.
As if a lord ordering a servant to clean a room—natural and inconsequential.
But to the wizards, those words were like a winter gale, sweeping away all hesitation and probing, setting the final bloody tone for this interplanar war.
The wizards’ demeanor shifted, and even the bio-beasts and theoretically mindless constructs grew more lethal.
