Capítulo 1031: Chapter 641: Liu Hun
Qin Tao finished speaking and didn’t hesitate, turning to leave with his men; in an instant, only Wu Dao’s subordinates and Old Bai were left.
“You all should leave too, it’s fate after all.” Wu Dao said with a bitter face, somewhat depressed, to his subordinates.
Upon hearing Wu Dao’s words, his subordinates hesitated a bit, not daring to leave easily. The reason they followed Wu Dao here was to ensure his safety.
If something were to happen to Wu Dao, returning might also lead to certain death.
“Old Bai, you take them back; if too many people go, it might backfire, two people are enough to divert Death’s Eye.” Liu Hun couldn’t help but sigh and said to Old Bai and the others.
Hearing Liu Hun’s words, Old Bai didn’t hesitate much and nodded and then led the crowd away.
Once Old Bai and the others left, suddenly only Liu Hun and Wu Dao were left on the scene.
Wu Dao glanced at Liu Hun depressively and said, “I say, Liu Hun, are you out of your mind? Don’t you know how to do something in such situations?”
“Then tell me, how should I do it? You all watch more seriously than dogs, if I did something, you would still know right away, wouldn’t you?” Liu Hun rolled his eyes and replied to Wu Dao snappily.
After Liu Hun said this, Wu Dao was left speechless; after all, Liu Hun was speaking the truth. If he really did something, everyone could see it clearly.
As for the two of them drawing this unlucky lot, it was just their bad luck.
“Damn it, are we really going to divert these Death’s Eyes now? Isn’t this just asking for death? You wouldn’t be so stupid, would you?” Wu Dao gritted his teeth and stared at Liu Hun asking.
Upon hearing Wu Dao’s words, Liu Hun furrowed his brows, hesitated for a moment, then shook his head and said, “If we don’t divert these Death’s Eyes, everyone would still die here. Instead of that, why not give it a shot? Although I do have an idea next, but if it fails, there’s nothing I can do.”
“What’s the plan?” Wu Dao’s eyes lit up immediately upon hearing Liu Hun, looking at Liu Hun with a hint of hope.
Having hope is always better than having none; even a sliver of hope is worth it.
“I’m not entirely sure what Death’s Eye is, but based on ancient texts, once it hits, there’s no way out, so my plan is to grab a corpse and use it as a shield. As for whether it will work, I have no idea.” After Liu Hun finished speaking, he also had a helpless expression.
But upon hearing Liu Hun’s words, Wu Dao’s eyes widened in shock, staring at Liu Hun, “This counts as a plan?”
“If you have a better plan, I certainly don’t mind.” Liu Hun smirked and teased.
“I… why don’t we just run for it?” Wu Dao contemplated for a while before suggesting to Liu Hun with gritted teeth.
“Fine, then let’s go with your plan. Which way do we run?” Liu Hun responded to Wu Dao without the slightest hesitation.
“You’re really agreeing to us running away?” Wu Dao looked at Liu Hun in disbelief to confirm.
“Running back is obviously unrealistic, after all, once they find out, those bastards probably won’t agree. So the only directions left are forward or to the sides; but all three sides have Death’s Eyes, only the northwest has fewer. So, the decision is up to you now.” Liu Hun said.
“Then let’s escape towards the northwest!” Wu Dao gritted his teeth and said.
Wu Dao also knew that northwest and southeast were completely opposite directions. If they ran northwest, trying to return to the southeast might take who knows how long.
Moreover, if they took a slightly wrong turn on the way, it would be even harder to regroup with the main team.
“What are you doing?” While Wu Dao was contemplating the feasibility of this idea, he saw Liu Hun picking up a corpse from the ground, confused.
“Of course, running away!” Liu Hun picked up a corpse, shielding it in front of him, and after finding this guy fairly burly, just right to cover his body, Liu Hun nodded in satisfaction.
Once Liu Hun finished his words, he ran directly towards the northwest. Seeing Liu Hun running without a word, Wu Dao cursed loudly, then quickly picked up a corpse from the ground to follow Liu Hun.
Although there weren’t many Death’s Eyes in the northwest, there were still some. In just a blink of an eye, the two reached these Death’s Eyes.
Upon getting close, they discovered that what was called Death’s Eye grew on vines, with every vine covered in Death’s Eyes; as they rushed forward, the vines all moved aside, opening a path.
“Is… is this Death’s Eye?” Seeing this scene, Wu Dao was dumbfounded, his body slightly stalled.
Seeing Wu Dao stop next to him, although Liu Hun was also surprised, he shouted at Wu Dao anxiously, “Keep moving!”
“What?” Wu Dao turned his head instinctively to look at Liu Hun upon hearing his words.
However, just as he turned his head, Liu Hun’s eyes flashed coldly. In a swift motion, he appeared in front of Wu Dao. With a flick of his wrist, a dagger landed in Liu Hun’s hand, and he sliced it along Wu Dao’s arm.
“Slash!” A crisp sound echoed. Just as one of the vines attempted to attack Wu Dao, it was severed by Liu Hun’s dagger.
The Death’s Eye on the vine extinguished after being cut, but a few drops of the vine’s sap splattered onto a corpse in front of Wu Dao.
“Sizzle…” One crisp sound after another resounded as the corpse in front of Wu Dao was corroded into a pile of bones in an instant, then fell to the ground in pieces.
This scene happened in the blink of an eye, demonstrating just how terrifying the sap of the vine truly was.
“What the hell are you waiting for? Run now!” Liu Hun urged Wu Dao, his eyes glancing at the surrounding vines rapidly closing in on them.
But Wu Dao couldn’t be blamed for his hesitation. The vine, like a living creature, even had a Death’s Eye growing on it, and its sap was so horrifying. Naturally, he was momentarily stunned.
With Liu Hun’s shout, Wu Dao snapped back to reality. Without even exchanging words with Liu Hun, he quickly hid behind him as they dashed forward.
They had just taken a couple of steps when Liu Hun suddenly stopped.
Wu Dao smashed into Liu Hun’s back and complained angrily, “What’s up with you? Run, damn it! These Death’s Eyes and vines are getting more and more!”
“You think I don’t want to run? It turns out there are even more Death’s Eyes this way…” Liu Hun said bitterly, regarding the corpse in his hands as it gradually turned to ash.
Normally, Liu Hun might have bickered with Wu Dao, but now, he had no such thoughts.
Hearing Liu Hun’s words, Wu Dao took a couple of steps forward. Upon seeing the corpse in Liu Hun’s hands turned completely to ash, he was also stunned.
“How did it come to this?” Wu Dao murmured under his breath.
“I finally understand why these things are called Death’s Eyes. Besides looking like eyes, anything that touches them, no matter what it is, turns to dust,” Liu Hun said bitterly.
Upon hearing Liu Hun’s words, Wu Dao’s face turned pale. His eyes were filled with fear as he stared ahead.
Ever since he was a child, Wu Dao never knew what fear felt like, but at this moment, he felt it clearly, along with a tinge of a deathly presence.
“W-what do we do now?” Wu Dao stuttered.
At this moment, a tangle of vines blocked their way ahead, and their speed had increased significantly.
In just a blink, the vines had almost completely surrounded them, even covering the sky.
Now, it seemed like a giant net woven by the vines surrounded them, slowly shrinking.
Soon, in less than ten minutes, they would have no space left, and death would await them.
After all, the two corpses just now served as the best example. If they touched these vines, they would end up the same way.
“Is there any other way now?” Liu Hun asked Wu Dao bitterly.
After speaking, Liu Hun took a deep breath and closed his eyes, frantically thinking of how to escape their predicament.
If they continued waiting, they would have no chance at all. Now, before the vines completely trapped them, there might still be a slim hope.
“Are we just going to wait here to die?” Wu Dao gritted his teeth, filled with unwillingness.
As a young master from a prestigious family with such powerful skills and cultivation talent, he was not willing to die here.
But now Wu Dao had no solutions, not even blaming Liu Hun, as he was the one who drew the lot and chose the direction.
In truth, it should be Liu Hun blaming him!
