Chapter 1551: Chapter 1551: Fate’s Ties

“How can this be considered retribution?” Gavin Graves caressed her cheek and thought for a moment, “This should be called destiny.”

Cherry looked up at him, “What do you mean by destiny?”

Gavin said, “It’s the fate of marriage, the chance that brought two people together. You helped heal my hand, and I will help heal yours. I promise it’ll be just as functional and beautiful as a real hand. When we grow old, won’t it be interesting to look back? You heal my right hand, I heal your left hand.”

Hearing this, Cherry laughed, “Yeah, it sounds like a perfect match!”

Her mood suddenly brightened, and she was no longer depressed.

Gavin said to her again, “Tomorrow someone will come to take measurements; it’s needed for making the prosthetic.”

“Will it be exactly like a real hand?” Cherry asked excitedly.

“It’s just a temporary silicone model, the kind that can’t move,” Gavin explained, “The real prosthetic can be installed after the wound heals for three months. Then, I’ll take you to Germany, where they have bionic mechanical hands that can connect with nerves and feel like a part of your own body.”

“Gavin, you’re the best to me.” Cherry smiled sweetly in his embrace, “I like you the very most, Gavin…”

Gavin chuckled, mimicking her tone, “Mm, I like Cherry the very most too.”

Two days later, Ruth Frazer indeed arrived.

She didn’t have Gavin send someone to pick her up but made arrangements with Gerald Graves to visit together.

The gift brought was an elaborate painting nearly two meters long.

Upon seeing her seal at the bottom of the painting, Gavin said, “A painting like this must have taken you several months of work, right?”

“The gift for the Graves Family head cannot be done carelessly,” Ruth laughed.

Cherry curiously looked at the painting with a sense of wonder. As she stared, her face nearly pressed against it, and Gavin pulled her back by her collar.

“Getting so close, are you planning to lick it?” Gavin teased as he ruffled Cherry’s hair.

Ruth was slightly taken aback.

In her impression, Gavin would only use such a teasing tone with women he was very intimate with. For usual female friends, his demeanor was typically gentlemanly, polite, and slightly distant.

This thought only flickered momentarily. Madison Richards was Gavin’s wife, so naturally, they shared a close relationship; it was she who was overreacting.

Cherry said to Gavin, “I was just wondering how such fine lines are painted, they seem finer than my hair.”

“Yes, traditional Chinese painting is very meticulous, requiring great effort from the artist,” Gavin smiled, looking at Ruth, “Thank you, we really like the gift.”

“Gavin, I want to hang it up,” Cherry said, “Let’s hang it in my study!”

Her study, where she copied scriptures, had a classic aesthetic that suited this type of painting well.

Gavin took the painting upstairs, also inviting Ruth to go up and show her around his new home.

Having seen many mansions, they were usually similar, but Gavin had a lounge with an artistic design, resembling a small coffee roasting workshop. He had collected nearly all the noteworthy coffee varieties available on the market.

Cherry disliked the bitterness of coffee, so she rarely visited this room. Once upstairs, she happily dragged Gavin to hang the painting.

Ruth and Gerald stayed in the lounge for a while, hearing the crisp laughter from the study.

Cherry unabashedly teased Gavin, “Hahaha! You hung it upside down!”

Gerald awkwardly laughed, “My brother and sister-in-law are very affectionate, haha…”

“Newlyweds, naturally they’re in love,” Ruth smiled as she stood up, “Let’s go over and take a look too; maybe we can help out.”
