Chapter 1524: Chapter 1524: Playing in the Water
Gavin Graves carried Cherry back to the guest room, gently patting her back: "Alright, come down now."
After waiting for a while with no response, he listened closely and realized she had fallen asleep on his shoulder.
Gavin chuckled helplessly and sighed, carefully placing her on the bed and helping her out of her clothes.
Cherry slightly woke up, drowsily cooperating with his movements to get her arms out of the sleeves, then hugged his arm, mumbling: "Sleep with me..."
Her voice lingered in the air long after she had fallen asleep again.
Gavin gently stroked her cheek, a smile tugging at his lips, she hadn’t slept the whole night... poor little thing.
...
Cherry only woke up at noon.
Upon waking, she continued to cling to Gavin sweetly: "Gavin, I want to have your baby."
Gavin, who was eating, choked instantly: "Cough! Cough cough... why, why do you suddenly want a child?"
Cherry replied matter-of-factly: "Kids are so cute, I want one too."
Gavin, in his thirties, also wanted a child. When he was with Cherry, they hadn’t used protection, but they never had any news, not knowing who had the issue.
If they truly wanted a child, preliminary health checks and pregnancy preparation were essential. Given Cherry’s three-minute enthusiasm, it was uncertain if she could cooperate well.
Gavin pondered a bit, deciding not to consider it for now. Having another one like her, he wouldn’t be able to handle it...
He said, "Having a child is a hassle. Pregnancy lasts 10 months; there are many foods you can’t eat, you can’t run or jump, and you can’t suddenly pounce on me."
Cherry furrowed her brow as expected: "It’s that troublesome!"
Gavin chuckled, ruffling her little head, "Let’s just go with the flow."
...
After dinner, Gavin and Cherry went to play at the rooftop sunbathing area, bringing the cats along.
The place was surrounded by huge floor-to-ceiling windows, with a movable and closable roof design. Besides the large swimming pool, there were big slides, a heated pool, and a massage pool with bubbles, allowing for water fun and sea view enjoyment, all without interruption.
The black cat didn’t like water, and Octopus didn’t either, instead climbing around the tall and short palm trees nearby.
Occasionally, other guests who saw it were only slightly surprised with no major shock—after all, they’d seen a three-headed dog before, what difference did a nine-tailed cat make?
Alexander Summers and Purple Summers were there too, one swimming in the water, the other sunbathing on a recliner.
Cherry couldn’t swim, wearing a big yellow duck swimming ring, kicking frantically in the water. Gavin was earnestly teaching her to swim, but Cherry was learning unseriously. The two playfully splashed water at each other, having a great time.
Alexander, seeing their fun, felt a bit envious and swam over to Purple, leaning his arms on the edge, asking her: "Baby, want to come down and cool off?"
"No, you play by yourself." Purple lay still, not moving.
She had a fear of water. Initially, she’d drowned after falling into a river, later pushed into a man-made lake by Laura Summers, then drowned in a bathtub by Nathaniel Summers, and later, leaping into a river during the cold winter months.
All unpleasant memories.
Alexander splashed some water onto her feet, "How about I get you a yellow duck too?"
Purple wordlessly pursed her lips.
Her peripheral vision caught Cherry in the distance, she paused slightly, suddenly sat up, and took off her sunglasses.
Seeing his wife staring straight ahead, Alexander turned to look too, spotting the boss of the Stan Brothers approaching the poolside with his men, currently facing off against Gavin’s people.
They were quite far away, making it hard to hear what was being said; Alexander signaled Zack Wallace with his eyes, and Zack understood immediately, leading the brothers over to back them up.
"What’s going on?" Purple stood up, "How did Gavin and Cherry get involved with the Stan Brothers?"
Alexander got out of the water, wiped his face, "Not sure, let’s go check it out. On Under The Rose’s turf, they shouldn’t cause too much trouble."
The Stan Brothers were infamous, but Under The Rose was an equally unfathomable mysterious organization, and to this day, no one knew who the boss behind it was.
