Then he took another scripture and placed it beside the previous one.

Cherry’s face looked grim as she glared at those scriptures, lips tightly sealed without uttering a word.
Clarity smiled at her, saying, “If it gets tedious over time, you can also read and write the ‘Book of Tao,’ it’s incredibly beneficial.”
Cherry’s face became even more sullen, “I hate writing the most!”
Gavin patted her head, coaxing, “I’ll write it with you.”
Taoist Priest Clarity continued, “There’s one more issue to discuss with Mr. Graves.”
He picked up the cat from Mr. Ghost Hayes’ arms and pinched its tail.
The black cat was displeased, turned, and meowed, and Octopus darted out, twisting its delicate body, creating an imposing aura for the black cat.

“Who are you kidding? You taoist priests are vegetarians. How could there be good fish and meat for it?” Cherry was skeptical.
Clarity replied, “As luck would have it, the temple has been overrun with rats lately, all fat and big. I’m sure it won’t lack for meat.”
“…” Cherry pursed her lips.
Gavin also agreed this approach was best.
If one were to say Octopus is dangerous, in fact, as long as it’s well-fed and taken out regularly, it not only won’t harm people but can assist its host, acting according to the host’s will.
But if one were to say Octopus is not dangerous, and if this cat were sold by Mr. Ghost Hayes to someone with ill intentions, it would definitely be boundless trouble.
Allowing Clarity to take it back to the temple, providing care as well as regulation, is the most appropriate course of action.
Gavin persuaded Cherry, “Didn’t you complain that the chicken and duck coops in the garden were stinky and messy? Let Taoist Priest take Octopus back, and we’ll dismantle the chicken and duck coops, okay?”
Cherry hesitated with pursed lips, “I promised it I would take care of it for life…”
“Boundless life to the Buddha, forgive me for speaking frankly, but compared to you, its lifetime might be too long,” Clarity shook his head with a smile, “It’s impossible to care for it forever.”
Cherry tilted her head in doubt and asked, “Will it live that long?”
Nevertheless, Clarity finally convinced Cherry.
He left the address of the White Cloud Temple, indicating that if Cherry was worried, she could visit her cat at any time.
