Capítulo 1560: Chapter 1560: Exchanging Intelligence

Gavin Graves said, “Officer Jackson, could we speak privately?”

Aria Jackson regarded Gavin Graves with interest, smiled, got out of the car, and walked a few steps away with Gavin.

“Is there any progress in the case that brought you over today?” Gavin asked.

Aria squinted slightly, “Mr. Graves, our work involves a confidentiality agreement and can’t be disclosed.”

Gavin replied indifferently, “Would you consider exchanging information?”

Aria raised her eyebrows, somewhat surprised. This case happened in a remote forest area with very few who knew about it. How did Gavin know? Could it be a misunderstanding?

“Mr. Graves, the case I’m investigating right now might differ from what you think…”

Gavin interrupted her and directly asked, “You came here today to verify the servants at her house, right?”

The smile on Aria’s face faded, and her expression turned serious.

Gavin whispered, “With such a big house, it wouldn’t be excessive to have ten or twenty servants, but there are only two or three servants in your family. Even if the couple likes tranquility, Moissanite’s paintings are worth millions, yet there are no bodyguards, a shortage of servants, and not even a single guard dog. That really doesn’t make sense.”

Aria pressed her lips and remained silent.

“Ruth Frazer said that Moissanite left to seek inspiration, but I think Moissanite never left.” Gavin glanced at Aria, speaking calmly, “Just now, when visiting the couple’s studio, I saw an unfinished painting on the canvas. As a painter, leaving a piece half-done and traveling seems quite unreasonable.”

Aria was silent for a moment and asked Gavin, “This case doesn’t seem to have much to do with you, why are you paying attention to these details?”

Gavin gave a faint smile.

Indeed, it has nothing to do… because he has recovered, only feeling troubled by the encounter that nearly cost him his life.

“There might not be much use in saying this, but I still hope it might help your investigation,” Gavin said, “Some of Moissanite’s paintings are peculiar and carry a curse. Whoever touches them will have their blood drained and turn into a mummy. If you are investigating, try to avoid touching those paintings, better safe than sorry.”

This might be dismissed by other officers, but Aria Jackson believed it.

Her good friend had come back to life, and she had witnessed Cherry’s capabilities. Although curses sounded mysterious, considering the situation of this case, it was entirely plausible.

“The reason we’re here today is because the identity of the newly discovered corpse has been verified.” Aria lowered her voice to tell Gavin, “So far, three bodies have been found. One of them was a habitual thief, who had previously served time and had records in the DNA database. Before he died, he planned to rob Moissanite’s home and very boastfully sent messages to his accomplices, claiming there were no servants or bodyguards at Moissanite’s house, making it easy to succeed.”

Pausing here, Aria hesitated slightly and spoke in an even lower voice, “Later, we investigated Moissanite and Ruth Frazer and found out that the couple hired a large number of servants in the past few months, but all of them are missing now.”

Gavin understood, “So the primary suspects you have now are Moissanite and Ruth Frazer, and today’s visit is merely a probing attempt?”

Aria neither confirmed nor denied, then added, “Mr. Graves, I know you have the capability to investigate this matter, but I hope you can stop because without coordination, your private actions could potentially interfere with our department’s internal plans.”

Gavin gave a faint smile, “Hmm, understood, but I must remind you, this case isn’t something that can be resolved simply by capturing someone. Consider it like a pastry, Officer Jackson.”
