Chapter 1572: Chapter 1572: Black Mire

Ruth Frazer led Aria Jackson, Gavin Graves, Cherry, and a police officer to her bedroom door.

She very slowly and cautiously turned the doorknob, then opened the door…

The curtains blocked the light completely, making the room appear somewhat cramped and dim, and it was barely visible that no one was on the bed, while streaks of black ink-like substance were on the floor.

Ruth Frazer carefully walked in, avoiding the black substances, her steps light and slow.

Aria Jackson and the others followed her inside.

Ruth Frazer took a few steps further in, then stopped and pointed at a landscape painting wall, her voice lowered to a whisper: “He’s inside there. I dare not go any closer… When you look, be gentle.”

No wonder the master bedroom seemed so small; it turned out the middle was divided by a “wall.”

Aria Jackson had just submitted the search warrant report, which had yet to be approved, so they hadn’t searched the house thoroughly, only briefly checking for places that could conceal a body.

She really hadn’t expected the body to be in Ruth Frazer’s bedroom, nor that there would be a “wall” dividing the room.

A thought flashed through her mind as she remembered her subordinate saying that Ruth Frazer didn’t sleep in her own bedroom last night. Out of fear, she claimed, she slept in the guest room instead.

Everyone’s gaze was fixed on the background wall in front of them.

Ruth Frazer pretended to be afraid, hiding behind the group, quietly retreating step by step… then, she grasped the door handle.

In an instant, a grim expression flashed in her eyes, and she forcefully slammed the door shut!

She intended to lock everyone inside!

Yet, she miscalculated Aria Jackson’s reflexes! The moment Aria sensed the anomaly, she dashed forward like an arrow and wedged her elbow in the middle!

“What are you doing?!” Aria shouted sternly, grabbing Ruth Frazer’s collar and pulling her fiercely into the room!

Ruth Frazer let out a piercing scream!

In fact, Aria was secretly puzzled, thinking she hadn’t used much force, why was this woman’s reaction so exaggerated?

However, in the next moment, Aria’s eyes widened in shock as she finally understood why Ruth Frazer let out a deathly wail—

Ruth Frazer’s body fell, hitting the background wall, the wallpaper tore and fell like a curtain, and what seemed to be a solid wall was merely a canvas!

On the other side of the wall, countless tentacles wrapped around Ruth Frazer’s body with lightning speed, dragging her inside!

It was a black mire occupying half of the room. Ruth Frazer was quickly submerged, and along with other corpses, she was jostled and digested in the rise and fall…

Everyone stared in shock at the scene unfolding before them, their feelings surpassing mere surprise.

Moissanite lay quietly in the center, his body like a glossy, black wax statue, with a vague tendency to melt. From the back of his neck, a woman’s head had grown, complete with a neck and half a shoulder, as if emerging from his body.

From Moissanite’s body, a black mire resembling tar oozed out, thick and frightful, covering half the room…

They seemed alive, gathered in clusters, gently heaving, slowly writhing, and in this rise and fall, countless corpses emerged and disappeared within.

Not just thirty-seven, at least fifty! Possibly even sixty!

Among the skeletons were not only humans, but animals too—cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, mice… densely packed, striking to the eye!

Ruth Frazer disposed of the bodies simply because there was no more room! The room was too full!

Aria Jackson took a deep breath, striving to stay calm.

She led the group, carefully retreating from the room, trying not to disturb the feeding creature… retreating to the doorway, backing down the hallway, and the group returned to the downstairs living room, each face still marked with shock.

Even Cherry was utterly amazed.
