Chapter 1295: Chapter 1295: The Forgotten Eighth Kid (7)
Waiting at the door, Ruan Hao didn’t hurry to open it. Instead, he gently said, “Jiaojiao, don’t stand behind the door.”
Standing behind the door, Ruan Jiaojiao obediently stepped aside. Once she was in place, she sat sweetly by the door, craned her neck, and mewed to let Ruan Hao know she was ready.
As Ruan Hao opened the door, he saw little Ruan Jiaojiao sitting cutely at the entrance, a fluffy bundle with a small head and big eyes, looking up at him adorably. Her little appearance was just irresistibly cute.
The brothers stared at her, their eyes wide, absolutely captivated by her cuteness.
Before Ruan Hao could react, Ruan Chi let out a howl, scooped up Ruan Jiaojiao, and started to frolic with her in his arms.
Just as Ruan Chi began to play, Ruan Jie quickly snatched her up. Ruan Jie’s reactions were faster than average and, the instant he seized Ruan Jiaojiao, he leaped up and dashed outside.
He was already out of the door when the other boys finally realized and immediately gave chase.
From upstairs to downstairs, the boys were laughing and fooling around, occasionally mixed with Ruan Jiaojiao’s squeals. The whole Ruan Family was incredibly lively, surprisingly harmonious.
When Zhao Li and the father and sons of the family came over, this was the scene that greeted them.
Though the two families lived quite close, the father and sons hadn’t come over much recently. Lu Xian heard the bad news about Ruan Jiaojiao and hurried back, but didn’t dare stay long.
Unexpectedly, after two days of revisiting, they found that things at the Ruan Family had transformed, like changing from rain to bright sunshine.
Could it be that Ruan Jiaojiao isn’t really dead?
Zhao Li had indeed mentioned that Ruan Jiaojiao was fine, but she was vague and didn’t make it very clear, leaving Lu Xian still confused about the current situation.
Anyway, Ruan Jiaojiao hadn’t been buried, but she hadn’t shown signs of getting better either.
Today, he finally mustered the courage to come see, only to be met with this scene.
What were the people who’d been sobbing uncontrollably doing now?
Fighting over a cat?
It’s still a little kitten?
Lu Xian couldn’t wrap his head around it, and Lu Zishu was even more incredulous.
On the day Ruan Jiaojiao died, they found out at school about the bad news, and Ruan Lei almost fainted. How come now… holding a little kitten, grinning foolishly, is this really his brother?
He looked at the rest of the Ruan Family and found they were all smiling, with not a trace of shadow or sorrow.
Lu Zishu was bewildered, a bit worried, and felt somewhat out of sorts.
Because of Ruan Jiaojiao’s death, he was still heartbroken and hadn’t moved on. On the contrary, his mother suddenly seemed like a different person the other day, smiling, humming while cooking, and even made them a lot of great dishes.
That behavior, now that he thought about it, was identical to that of the Ruan Family.
Lu Zishu thought they might all be over-grieved and had gone crazy.
“Actually…”
“Oh, you’re here. Dinner will be ready soon. Make yourselves comfortable. No need for us to host you, right.” Ruanlin came out of the kitchen with a dish, smiling warmly as she greeted them.
There was no sign of the severe illness she had due to excessive grief as said earlier.
Aside from Zhao Li, who was familiar enough to go help in the kitchen, the father and sons were all somewhat bewildered.
Lu Xian walked over to the side where Ruan Jie, with a face full of joy, was holding the kitten, his smile so wide it was suspicious. Could it really be, as rumors suggested, that the entire Ruan Family had lost their minds?
