Chapter 1275: Chapter 718: Going Home
Yae Residence.
"Phew, finally done with everything. I can finally go home."
Dorothy expressed her delight with such a sigh.
As a homebody witch, she was exceedingly attached to her home.
Although Japan could be considered her territory now, the true home in her heart was the Witch’s Home Sky Island she had personally built, docked at the Witch Academy.
In the blink of an eye, she had been on Japan for several months, and she was starting to feel homesick, even though she hadn’t even lived in her new home longer than on Japan.
"Miss, even if we go back, we can’t stay for a few days, okay? We’re supposed to go to Venus City for the Magic Shadow Festival next."
Beside her, Sophia mercilessly added in.
The Pure White Witch was packing their luggage, the suitcase Adam gave Dorothy was open beside them, while the Angel Witch packed one piece of clothing and souvenir after another and placed them into the suitcase.
These were all parting gifts given to them by everyone on Japan, and the number was indeed a bit much. Fortunately, Dorothy’s suitcase was a custom high-capacity one, otherwise, it might not have fit.
Dorothy originally wanted to simplify the task by shoving everything into the suitcase, figuring she’d rearrange it slowly once back home.
However, halfway through, Sophia saw her. As a perfectionist, a veteran Soul Party member, a late-stage obsessive-compulsive patient, the Pure White Witch couldn’t tolerate it.
Hence, the Angel Witch disdainfully moved the young lady aside and began to neatly sort and pack each piece of clothing and souvenir into the suitcase.
And Dorothy, watching her roommate’s actions, was speechless.
"You’re totally wasting time, you know? This isn’t efficient at all."
She mumbled softly.
Since they would have to unpack everything at home shortly anyway, she didn’t get the point of such meticulous organizing now.
But when Sophia’s golden, beautiful eyes glanced over, Dorothy raised her hands decisively.
"Okay, I’ll shut up, as long as you’re happy."
Well, since she wasn’t the one wasting time and effort, if her roommate wanted to mess around, she could let her be.
However, the homebody witch’s silence only lasted a few minutes before she wobbled over to help Sophia with the packing.
After all, they were her belongings, and leaving everything to someone else felt a bit bad.
"Hey, hey, Sophia, look at me."
She suddenly called out to her roommate.
Sophia instinctively turned her head, only to see a terrifying evil ghost face nearly pressed against her own.
Nonetheless, what would usually elicit at least a startle in someone else had no effect on the Pure White Witch, her goddess-like, cool, and exquisite face didn’t flinch even an eyebrow.
"Miss, should I transfer you to the junior class? I think you’d fit right in with those little prodigies starting school at age three or four."
The Angel Witch said thus.
The prank having failed, Dorothy awkwardly took off the evil ghost mask Ibuki Yuuki had given her.
"I was just trying to make you relax. You seemed quite agitated."
She said with a faint embarrassment.
Even though Sophia didn’t say it, Dorothy could still sense her roommate’s inner unrest and anxiety at that moment.
Yeah, although the Pure White Witch often found Dorothy bothersome and always critiqued her, today Sophia was even more biting than usual. This slight difference was enough to signal a problem.
All that obsessiveness, all the soul party stuff was just surface-level; Sophia’s packing help was mainly because she wanted to keep busy to avoid overthinking, or she’d be even more unsettled.
"I’m not agitated, but if you keep messing around, Miss, I might really become agitated."
Sophia hesitated for a moment; her eyes flashed briefly with panic before turning resolute again. She reached out to take the evil ghost mask from Dorothy’s hand, storing it in a high-end storage box before putting it into the suitcase.
Click, why does this young lady always need to pay attention to details where none are needed?
The Pure White Witch thought somewhat angrily.
Yet she was also a little happy, for the people she cared about also cared about her, and that was always heartening.
And Dorothy didn’t continue to play pranks this time; she obediently started packing together.
Even though her slightly tsundere roommate refused to say anything, Dorothy understood exactly what Sophia was anxious about.
It was all due to her family situation.
The whole reason they came to Japan was to avoid the storm, and now they had to return. Who knows if the outside storm had passed?
Even if it had, Sophia still had a lot to deal with from the Angel Witch Clan once they returned; she would surely be busy.
While this Japan trip was busy and felt nothing like a vacation to Dorothy, for Sophia, it was indeed a break from her responsibilities and burdens.
Sadly, all good vacations are short, and now it was time for everything to fall back into place.
Even though Dorothy could guess her roommate’s worries, she really couldn’t do anything to help.
