Chapter 308: Chapter 308: First Update

In the morning, Bi Xia and Bi Xiaoyuan went to the hospital together. Because Xia Shi was worried they wouldn’t rest well last night, he sent them all back to Qin Zhan’s house, so Bi Xia arranged for someone to take care of Xia Shi.

After confirming that Xia Shi was not feeling uncomfortable and only needed to stay in the hospital for observation, Bi Xia felt a bit relieved.

Remembering that he had an appointment with Qu Ming and the others, he then told Bi Xiaoyuan and Xia Shi that he was going to the library to check something. Xia Shi, who was worried that Bi Xia might neglect his studies, didn’t suspect anything when he heard Bi Xia was going to the library. Instead, he encouraged Bi Xia to study well and not to worry about her.

Xia Shi also mentioned that he watched ’I Am a High School Student’ on television last night and was surprised to see what Bi Xia’s school was like. He found it quite interesting, as Yunhui High School only holds parent meetings once a year, usually at the end of the semester. So far, Xia Shi hadn’t had the chance to visit Yunhui High School.

However, Xia Shi was still concerned about Bi Xia. After all, the TV show mentioned that someone was causing trouble for their class. Bi Xia just smiled and assured him that it wasn’t about fighting but rather academic competition. Hearing this, Xia Shi felt much more at ease.

Opening the car door in the parking lot, Bi Xia suddenly realized that Xia Shi didn’t really know what he was like at school or the things he did. With a soft sigh, he thought it was better if he didn’t know, otherwise, his peace-loving mom might get scared with all the fights and challenges.

At the Blue Mountain Cafe, Qu Ming and Wen Yang were already sitting inside, each having ordered a cup of Blue Mountain Coffee and a dessert, waiting for Bi Xia to arrive.

Wen Yang took a bite of the dessert, frowned, put the spoon on the plate, and leaned back in his chair, "Sure enough, I still don’t like desserts, they make it too sweet!"

Qu Ming glanced at Wen Yang, scooped up a big spoonful of dessert, and said, "You just have a habit, if you don’t eat it, I’ll have it."

Wen Yang pushed the dessert towards Qu Ming and watched Qu Ming eat with his eyes closed in satisfaction. He sighed softly, "I really don’t understand how you people can like something so sweet!"

"I don’t understand you people either, it’s obviously such a delicious thing, and yet you don’t like it, really impressive." Qu Ming retorted lightly.

Qu Ming and Wen Yang were not only contrasting characters but also had different tastes in food.

Qu Ming had a calm and composed personality, liked to think things through, and was a sweet tooth. Wen Yang was different; he was very smart and highly sensitive to numbers. Wen Yang liked excitement and adventure, his personality appearing stable but actually quite obsessive. Like how he would accompany Qu Ming to eat the desserts he liked but would never change his dislike for desserts.

"I wonder when that girl will come." Wen Yang took a sip of coffee and said slowly.

Qu Ming had just finished his dessert and was starting on Wen Yang’s piece. Hearing Wen Yang’s words, he paused for a moment before saying, "She should be here soon."

After a while, Qu Ming said to Wen Yang, "Do you ever feel that we trust Xiao Xia too much? Normally, if someone saved our lives, we wouldn’t trust them enough to hand over our ID cards."

Wen Yang smiled, "I’ve felt that way for a long time," he said, taking a sip of coffee and savoring the taste. "But looking at that girl, I just feel like trusting her. It’s a familiar feeling."

Qu Ming nodded, what Wen Yang said was true. Despite not getting a clear look at Xiao Xia on that night, it still felt as if they had known her for a long time. Calling her ’Xiao Xia’ came naturally, as if they were used to it.

"Oh my god!"

Wen Yang suddenly cursed, staring out the glass window without blinking, "That, that kid..."

Qu Ming followed Wen Yang’s gaze and was also stunned for a moment.
