Chapter 818: Growth

"Team 1 and Team 2 handle the incoming beasts from the right. Team 3 and Team 4 stand by; wait for the right chance to sweep in when the second beast wave arrives," ordered Clovis out loud.

It had been decided that Clovis would be on Team 1 while Jay became the captain of Team 3. Team 2 was led by Nart, while Eid took Team 4.

Christina and Luci stood in front alongside Nart and the other two vanguards from his team. Clovis stood behind them with the Tier 7 human from Nart’s team.

There were at least fifty beasts coming at them right now. Two of them were at least Tier 6 beasts.

Christina stomped her shield and activated her Provoke. As a result, all 50 beasts shifted their direction to her.

"Get ready!" Christina took a deep breath.

At the last moment, Christina retracted her unique ability, causing the beasts to return to their original state. Because the focus shifted, the beasts were stunned for a moment, not knowing what their target was.

As a result, the momentum was halted for a second.

"That’s an interesting technique, Christina," shouted Clovis.

"You’re not the only one who learns how to utilize your unique ability properly." Christina smirked.

"We are here as well!" Nart came and stopped the beasts. Their guardian stood next to Christina to block the attacks while Nart and the other Tier 6 fighters killed the beasts from the side.

*Roar!* A Tier 6 beast instinctively sought out Nart, who had a pseudo unique ability.

Nart raised his blade. The moment he swung it, the sword split into three.

"!!!" The beast was confused as to which one it should stop, ultimately failing to stop a single one.

The wounds were quite deep as blood spurted out of their bodies.

Still, 50 was not a number that could easily be stopped by a few people.

Some slipped past them and headed directly to Clovis.

"Clovis. Some are coming to you," Christina warned him. "Should I bring them to me?"

"No need. It’s Reolf’s turn."

Reolf nodded and charged forward.

*Roar!* The beasts let out a roar as if they were showing their pride as beasts, unlike Reolf, who chose to be a pet.

Reolf, on the other hand, ignored their pathetic roars. He saw one brave beast trying to challenge him, so Reolf only raised his right paw and waved it down.

The beast pounced on him, using all its momentum to overpower Reolf. The beast was Tier 5. Since Reolf was at the same tier, the beast must have expected to be able to defeat Reolf.

Unfortunately for the beast, Reolf had unlocked multiple beast souls during his training. One of them was in his paw.

When the beast was about to hit him, Reolf slapped it in the head. The beast wanted to shake that paw off its head. To its surprise, Reolf actually knocked it down and flattened the entire head.

Reolf raised its head, glaring at the remaining beasts. The beasts abruptly stopped, instinctively scared of Reolf even though they knew he was their enemy.

"Whoa? Reolf has become so strong?" Christina was amused. "He can overpower the beasts’ instincts?"

"Isn’t he good? He has unlocked several beast souls. Those two are called Tyrant Palm and Overlord Aura."

"Who named it?"

"Me."

"As expected."

"Are you saying my naming sense sucks?"

"No. Not that good, but I won’t say it sucks either." Christina chuckled. "Anyway, I will send the other Tier 6 to you."

*Roar!* After getting hit by Christina’s shield, the Tier 6 beast changed its target from Christina to Clovis.

Clovis grabbed the handle of his sword, but suddenly, a voice came from behind. "Let me."

An arrow suddenly flew toward the beast. The beast smacked it away with its paw, albeit that wasn’t what actually happened. The arrow actually overpowered the beast, causing the beast to flip onto its back.

Then, Luci jumped into the air and slashed its body in a spot that caused a lot of bleeding, which guaranteed the death of the Tier 6 beast.

Although Luci didn’t show any big moves, she was actually the most efficient. It was as if she had the anatomy of the beasts in the back of her head.

On the other hand, the arrow released earlier piqued his interest.

"What kind of bow is that?" Clovis gasped, turning to Rin. The one who released that arrow earlier was actually Rin. "Also, you are not supposed to fight."

"I’m just telling you that I can fight, but don’t expect me to be a combatant. When push comes to shove, you know my ability. I will cooperate at that time. As for the bow, it doesn’t weigh a lot. Only about 450 kg. The strength of an arrow depends on the weight of the bow as well as the strength of the bowstring."

"450 kg?" Clovis was dumbfounded.

Rin’s eyebrows twitched. "Even though I have Brain Affinity, I’m close to Tier 7, you know?"

"Ahahaha." Clovis let out a hollow laugh. Still, it was enough to figure out her power. In fact, Clovis didn’t really want to fight as much as possible so that he could observe their strength to know what kind of decision he had to make when the time came.

Then, Melody’s voice rang in his earbud. "Clovis. The second wave is about to arrive. Starting to send the instructions to all teams."

"!!!" All people instantly saw a direction arrow, pointing them to where they should position themselves. Team 1 and Team 2 were obvious, but even Team 3 and Team 4 began to move.

Although Eid was a bit skeptical, he wanted to see what kind of setup Melody had prepared.

The moment everything was set in place, a signal to attack appeared.

"Strike!"

"!!!" All the people moved according to their directions.

Clovis couldn’t help but squint his eyes, noticing that Melody’s direction was a bit different from the one in his memory.

He, too, would be the one who was most shocked by Melody’s growth.

"Ah. This is..." Clovis gasped after focusing his affinity to Brain Affinity, allowing him to see the entire battlefield.
