Chapter 646: Chapter 424: Revenge Plan_4

"Then let’s go."

Fushimi Roku said, "We’ll rent a small boat as a post-meal exercise, make it quick and return. I want to settle this tonight; I still need to be at work as usual tomorrow morning."

He planned to resolve the issue with the police gun; the sooner, the better. Who knows what Uesugi Shion might do with his gun and the corpse... Even if he steals another one, it won’t help; it will only expose his act of stealing guns.

Everyone was taken aback by his words.

Minamoto Tamako, who knew him best, vaguely guessed something from his words: "Do you know where Cat Island is?"

"Yes, I do," Fushimi Roku admitted.

Watanabe Shun suddenly stood up, fueled by the alcohol, shouting that he must go teach those people a lesson.

Kazama Tatsuya and Moriyama Yasurou looked astonished and then exchanged glances, surprisingly not saying anything to dissuade them.

"Are you going?" Fushimi Roku asked.

Moriyama Yasurou did not immediately agree but said, "If you’re going, I’ll go." Kazama Tatsuya nodded along, meaning the same.

If they were to take revenge, it might be another story; but if it was going with Fushimi Roku to seek revenge, then they had to go and see.

"Of course, Mr. Deer will go!" Minamoto Tamako answered for him.

"I see."

Moriyama Yasurou and Kazama Tatsuya both showed a knowing expression, nodded together, their tone somewhat intriguing.

Since everyone agreed, the matter was settled.

Minamoto Tamako immediately called Chief Kikuchi, saying they were going on a mission to carry out an arrest, asking Chief Kikuchi for help with the paperwork.

Kinosaki Shoujin didn’t even know what the case was about, only felt bewildered. Nevertheless, he did as Minamoto Tamako instructed, with large blank sections in the documentation, for Minamoto Tamako to complete after returning to the Police Department.

After all, Minamoto Tamako was genuinely working, unlike some others who wouldn’t budge no matter what.

Everyone ate and drank their fill, then returned home to change clothes, took their police guns, and gathered at the port. As for Taira Sakurako, Kazama Tatsuya entrusted her to Kudou Sawa’s care, calling back the person who had just left.

Fushimi Roku spent money to rent a boat. In Japan during those years, it was quite convenient to rent a boat, partially due to the rapid development of the fishing industry, and also because of internal management chaos.

None of them had any sailing experience, so they hired a captain and crew.

"That place seems like a military restricted zone."

The captain looked at the coordinates Fushimi Roku gave, recalling carefully: "There’s a lighthouse over there, but ships aren’t allowed to dock; the garrison will fire warning shots."

Everyone knew that Japan, nominally, did not have an army. Therefore, where the captain mentioned a garrison, everyone understood clearly.

"It’s fine, just stop around the area," Fushimi Roku said and added more money, promising a double reward upon return, to prevent the captain from abandoning them.

He gave so much that the captain agreed readily, without much hesitation.

And so, everyone set off under the cover of night, the boat moving into the vast sea, the light piercing the night, as if it were an ordinary afternoon when friends spontaneously decided to bully the neighbor’s bad dog.

...

More than two hours later, the crew suddenly notified everyone that the radio had received a warning from a patrol boat, telling them not to proceed further and to return immediately.

Fushimi Roku and the others stood in the cockpit, gazing at the black shoreline on the other side of the sea, as well as the patrol boat from the Japan Coast Guard stationed a few miles from the port.

"It’s just ahead," the captain pointed at the shoreline and said.

Minamoto Tamako looked puzzled: "Why are there Japanese police here? The Police Department doesn’t even know where Cat Island is. And why won’t this boat dock?"

They felt like allies but not really allies; it was very strange, impossible to tell which side they were on.

"Don’t worry about it, we’ll row a dinghy over in the dark."

Fushimi Roku didn’t bring a gun; he carried only a sword, the one Watanabe Shun gave him. After a bit of fixing, it was still usable.
