Chapter 1622: Chapter 1622: Falling Asleep in a Woman’s Arms

He loosened the button on his shirt collar, but was completely out of temper from being tormented by Sylvan Cheney, and could only glare at him.

Sylvan Cheney remained calm and collected, his face as always calm.

He put down his pen, looked at Jesse Rowan, and said lightly, “The Cheney Family’s business is busy. If Mr. Rowan finds it hard to manage, perhaps consider selling off some projects. Just don’t run the Cheney Family into the ground within a year.”

“You look down on me, a legitimate business school graduate? I entered Canford University with top marks back in the day.” That was something Jesse Rowan was very proud of.

“Impressive.” Sylvan’s gaze was placid, “You really need to live up to those top marks.”

“It’s getting dark, I’m heading home. I’m starving.” Jesse Rowan stretched lazily, truly exhausted.

Ever since he started intermittently taking over the Cheney Family, he hadn’t had a single day of rest.

His assistant would wake him up with calls early in the morning, if not attending this event, then visiting that construction site.

When had he ever been this tired?

Many nights, he fell asleep overworking in the study.

Back overseas, he always fell asleep in the arms of a woman.

Life after returning home was worse than a dog’s!

“Come to the Cheney Family early tomorrow, I’ll be waiting for you in the CEO’s office.” Sylvan Cheney said.

“Early again…” Jesse Rowan muttered twice, wondering how much earlier he should be, “Alright, I know, can I leave now?”

He used to sleep until he woke up naturally.

Thinking of this made him regret returning home.

“Yes, that’s all for today.” Sylvan nodded.

The wind had picked up outside, it looked like it was going to rain again.

Jesse Rowan stood up and directed Liamly Finley behind him, “Grab everything, we’re leaving and heading home. Oh, my back, so sore and painful.”

As he spoke, Jesse Rowan put on his coat and rubbed his waist.

He couldn’t understand how an old man like Sylvan had such good stamina, sitting for an entire afternoon, a whole afternoon!

Now he was still calm and composed, not a trace of disarray, despite handing over the Cheney Family to him tomorrow.

Yacob Harry was so exhausted by him that he ended up in the hospital, half-dead, and his psychological resilience was extremely poor.

Yet Sylvan was different, this man’s demeanor has always carried an unfathomable steadiness.

“Charles Mcintosh, see Mr. Rowan off.” Sylvan also stood up.

“Alright.”

Charles Mcintosh escorted Jesse Rowan out of the Cheney Family, all the way down the elevator, to the parking lot.

“Take care, Mr. Rowan. See you tomorrow.” Charles Mcintosh’s face was calm, undisturbed.

Before getting into the car, Jesse Rowan walked quietly to Charles Mcintosh’s side, lowered his voice with a mischievous grin, “Assistant Mcintosh, the women in those photos in your drawer are beautiful, dream girls, or your first love?”

Charles Mcintosh’s expression stiffened, his gaze darkened: “Jesse Rowan!”

“Don’t refute me, I know who that is, Lilac Serval. By the way, Lilac was so pretty when she was a teenager, she’s like a little fairy. Such a fairy should be paired with someone like me, a prince, not a wooden person like Mr. Mcintosh.”

“Just try touching her!” Charles Mcintosh’s eyes finally revealed a different expression, reddened with icy coldness.

Jesse Rowan laughed, “I thought Mr. Mcintosh had no feelings. Don’t worry, a gentleman doesn’t take what others love. I, Jesse Rowan, am a gentleman, very refined. But Mr. Mcintosh, your girlfriend is indeed interesting, I’ve met her twice, quite an interesting woman.”
