Chapter 1584: Chapter 1584: No Reason, Just Want to Kiss You

Sylvan Cheney took Jasmine Yale’s hand: “Let’s go home.”

“But I haven’t finished eating…” Jasmine held onto the cake in her hand.

“Eat it in the car.”

“Mm.” Jasmine had no choice but to bid farewell to Aunt May, “Aunt May, I’m heading home first. See you next time.”

“Go on, go on, I won’t keep you.” Aunt May knew there was no stopping them anyway.

Before leaving, Jasmine grabbed the half-eaten orange off the table and stuffed it into Sylvan Cheney’s hand.

“This half is for you.”

Sylvan’s brow arched slightly, his expression looking quite satisfied.

One tall figure and one shorter one walked side by side down the hospital hallway. Sylvan held Jasmine’s hand with one while the other carried the medication and the orange.

Jasmine loved snuggling close to him, sticking tightly to his side as if afraid of losing him.

Today, the sunlight was exceptionally brilliant, bright and filled with cheerful hues.

The trees and grass along the roadside were beginning to sprout. Landon’s harsh winter lasted long, but its spring was just as enchanting.

Sitting in the car, Jasmine coaxed him to finish the orange: “Aunt May peeled that herself for me. I ate half, so you eat the other half.”

Sylvan ate the orange, his eyes narrowing slightly, a sly glint flashing in them: “I like oranges.”

“I like them too.” Jasmine realized belatedly and laughed, her happiness evident.

She sat in the passenger seat. Even just quietly sitting there with him, she found joy.

It wasn’t until Sylvan was almost done with the orange that Jasmine suddenly realized what his “I like oranges” actually meant.

Proper and serious in front of others, completely improper when it came to her.

“Do you like Aunt May?” Sylvan asked.

“I do, Aunt May is very kind,” Jasmine replied. “We got along quite well.”

“I don’t have many elders, and among those I truly respect, there are even fewer. Aunt May is one. She was a close friend of my mom’s. They were very close. She’s also someone I deeply respect.” Sylvan explained patiently, his voice low and smooth.

“So, you’ve known Aunt May since you were young.”

“Yes.”

“But you only introduced me to her today.” Jasmine sounded a little disgruntled, “I didn’t even know about her before.”

Meeting someone’s elder is a sign of recognition.

“If you feel like it’s too late, I’ll apologize.” Sylvan reached out, his long fingers gently caressing her cheek.

“No, I don’t.” Jasmine quickly denied it. “Meeting her now is just fine.”

“You say one thing and mean another.” Sylvan’s lips quirked up slightly, clearly knowing she had been silently complaining about him yet refusing to admit it.

“Why did you rush to take me away earlier? It was my first time meeting Aunt May, and I wanted to chat with her more.”

“No reason. I just wanted to kiss you.” Sylvan suddenly leaned over. Before Jasmine could react, he brushed a light kiss against her lips.

Her lips still carried the sweetness of dessert.

“You’ve been kissing me all morning.” Jasmine stared at him, a hint of complaint in her gaze.

“Mm, I’ll stop once I’ve had my fill.”

With that, he cupped her small head and pressed her against his chest, leaving a searing, lingering kiss. It was deep and endless.

Jasmine couldn’t quite figure out what was going on with him today.

It was just like last time. After he came back from a trip, he’d acted crazily again, kissing her over and over, even pinning her down and making love to her multiple times.

Jasmine leaned against his chest, letting him kiss her.

Kissing someone you love is a blissful thing. Her heart felt as though it was brimming with sweet, flowing spring water.

That sweetness seemed contagious, as if it had infused the air in the car with a layer of warmth and love.
