Chapter 1541: Chapter 1541: It Would Be Nice to Have a Baby
Jasmine Yale tried on pair after pair, thoroughly enjoying herself.
This was probably the happiest she had ever been while shopping. There wasn’t a single other customer, but he was by her side.
“We’ve bought so much already. It’s enough. Let’s go get something to eat?” Jasmine glanced at the shopping bags in his hand.
“What do you want to eat?”
“Just a cup of hot chocolate.” Jasmine looked at him with a bright smile. “And don’t say it’s not nutritious.”
Sylvan Cheney couldn’t argue with her. He took out his phone and made a call: “Send a cup of hot chocolate up to the third floor.”
Jasmine’s brows curved into a delighted expression. When she went along with him, he would go along with her too.
Jasmine linked her arm through his. “Why don’t we go look at some hats?”
“Whatever you want to see, let’s go.”
Jasmine walked over to the display. She liked knitted hats and picked out several.
“This one, with the bunny ears.” Jasmine pointed at the rabbit ears stitched onto the hat. “Does it look good?”
“It suits Chale Cheney.”
“No, look, this hat comes as a set—three pieces.” Jasmine pointed to the rack. “See that? Three, two big and one small. Hehe.”
Sylvan squinted at her.
Jasmine had already taken all three hats down.
The design of the three hats was identical, each featuring two little ears. The only differences were their sizes and colors.
The two bigger ones were navy blue, and the small one was sky blue.
Jasmine wore one of the larger ones.
“Does it look good? If it does, I’ll get the set.” Jasmine sought his opinion.
“Childish.”
“Do you have any problem with me getting the set?”
“No problem.”
Jasmine’s lips curved up, her eyes shimmering with a crystalline light and bright clarity.
“There are gloves to match as well. Let’s get those too.”
“…”
Sylvan looked up and only then realized the store specialized in parent-child matching outfits. No wonder there were so many coordinated pieces.
Jasmine seemed particularly drawn to the children’s hats. She picked out another one, pink, with an adorable knitted kitten design.
“How about this one? Does it look nice?”
Sylvan frowned. “I don’t understand anything about children’s stuff.”
“Oh, I think this one looks pretty cute. I want to buy it for Little Candy. Once I get to UT, I’ll finally be able to visit her.” Jasmine stared at the hat in her hand, completely absorbed.
Her fingers gently brushed over the kitten design, a tender glow shining in her eyes.
It would be so nice if she had a baby of her own.
But sadly, she didn’t.
“If you like it, just take it.”
“Alright.” Jasmine tucked the hat into the shopping bag. “I think we’re good now. Let’s head to the café and rest for a bit.”
Jasmine and Sylvan walked side by side toward the café in the middle of the floor.
Thanks to the private clearance, the place was empty.
Jasmine took matters into her own hands, setting out small snacks.
Just then, Sylvan’s people delivered the hot chocolate. Jasmine sat contentedly across from him.
“Do you want something to eat? I can make something for you,” Jasmine said with a smile. “Thanks for accompanying me for so long. You must be tired?”
“Why are you thanking me? Are we strangers now?”
“Then I won’t be polite with you.” Jasmine bit on her straw, her eyes sparkling with brilliance.
Here, it was just the two of them.
It was very quiet, but she didn’t feel lonely at all.
She had never been someone who enjoyed bustling crowds, and fortunately, neither was Sylvan. At this moment, as they sat face-to-face, the atmosphere felt even more peaceful and harmonious.
Sylvan had the shopping bags sent back to the Cheney Residence by his assistant and stayed to keep Jasmine company.
