Chapter 1061: Chapter 1060: This Time We’re Going Big
Fang Zheng was unaware of everything happening on the Archangel Ship, and he had no interest in caring about it, because at the moment he was engaged in the most important task since arriving in this world.
Eliminate Reapers.
This is not just simply eliminating the invading Reapers, but literally wiping out all those Reapers, which number in the thousands of billions.
This is not an easy task.
Currently, Shupard has already left Earth with others to seek support in the territories of other races at the Citadel, but the situation is not looking good. Both Serret and Turui are in trouble, akin to a clay Bodhisattva crossing a river and unable to ensure their own safety, and the situation for the Asari is even worse. They initially wanted to seal off the star systems but ended up being beaten back home by the Reapers, struggling to even defend their home planet!
Fang Zheng could only respond with a chuckle.
Honestly, Fang Zheng always felt that the Asari are quite similar to the Star Spirit; they have a long history, possess great individual strength, and wield unscientific special powers, with every member believing their race is the oldest, most unique, and unbeatable.
Then Ayr was brought down by the Swarm.
It seems the Asari home planet in this world is likely to repeat the same mistake, except it’s unclear whether they will have the opportunity to return to their homeland and reclaim their heritage... Okay, I digressed.
Besides, the Quillan, Watcha, and other races are also in dire straits. The Quillan people, however, after resolving their previous server issues, have managed to form a tacit understanding with the Geth, though not explicitly friends, while their fleets join forces with the Geth to reclaim their home planet... Well, the planet that originally belonged to the Quillan people, then was banished by the Geth, and is now occupied by heretical Geth under the allegiance of the Reapers; it’s finally set to welcome back its original owners.
But none of this is important.
Fang Zheng is fully aware that despite the galaxies’ civilized races achieving partial victory with the help of the Heavenly Dao Palace and Shupard, the protagonist, the overall situation remains unchanged. Countless Reapers continue advancing towards the Milky Way, and if Fang Zheng doesn’t resolve this issue, the victories they currently have will be meaningless.
Of course, the reason Fang Zheng is so invested in eliminating the Reapers, aside from preserving the existence of galaxy civilizations so he can explore and mine in a stable world, is also due to completing his task. After all, Fang Zheng accidentally discovered during this period that the more Reapers he eliminates, the faster the main mission’s progress bar advances.
Then, if he can wipe out these Reapers in one go, his mission progress should be nearly complete.
But this is not easy.
Through "Ratziel," Fang Zheng certainly knew where these Reapers came from.
But the problem is... how to get there.
That’s right, just like everyone knows Chang’e lives on the moon, if you want to hit on Chang’e, you have to get to the moon first, right?
The problem is, how to get up there?
Through fighting with these Reapers, Fang Zheng also figured out how they arrived in the Milky Way.
Through Mass Relays.
But trying to use Mass Relays to reach the Reaper territory is impossible.
To put it in perspective, imagine the Milky Way and the Reapers’ headquarters are two cities at opposite ends of a wasteland, and the Mass Effect Relays are the train tracks connecting them.
As for those Mass Relays within the Milky Way, they are equivalent to city subways, where anyone can buy a ticket to board. But those connecting two different star domains are like international trains, requiring a series of tasks like passport checks and baggage transfers before boarding.
However, the initiative for all of this is held firmly in the hands of the Reapers.
In other words, if Fang Zheng wants to hitch a ride on their train, there’s a chance he might be switched off halfway and tossed into some unknown corner... and that’s the better scenario. If he ends up thrown into the center of a black hole, that would mean dying without even completing his mission.
As for why Fang Zheng can’t use "Ratziel" to write the Reapers to death, the reason is simple, because in "Ratziel," each Reaper is viewed as an individual rather than a whole.
Meaning, if Fang Zheng wrote "Reapers explode on the spot, their mom flies to heaven" in "Ratziel," it wouldn’t result in the whole Reaper race exploding, but rather a random one exploding.
Don’t ask how Fang Zheng knows this; he got sore hands from experimenting before.
The safest way is, of course, to build an "iron track" himself, which is not difficult. The Halo’s Forerunner technology includes space orbit design plans, but the issue is—have you ever seen a major infrastructure project that was done quietly like a thief in the night?
They’re all done with a lot of banging!
By the time things are hot on this side, and construction on the Belt and Road is underway, unless the Reapers are blind, they will definitely see it.
However, Fang Zheng has thought of a solution.
A method he learned from observing the Nadeshiko.
Although Fang Zheng did not ask Nymph to collect data on the mechas from the Nadeshiko, instinctively, he still had Yui and Nymph secretly make a copy of the confidential information from the warship, and while Fang Zheng was passing time going through this data, he suddenly found a rather interesting record.
Regarding the record of "Boson Jump."
Unlike the methods currently employed by the Azure Fleet and the Swarm, the essence of Boson Jump is time movement rather than spatial movement. Simply put, when a "wave" is triggered in reality, the wave extends simultaneously along both the "past" and "future" timelines, and typically, the wave from the past would be covered by the wave from the future, so events only change forward, not revert.
But if one utilizes some special techniques to interfere with this process allowing the past wave to cover the future, it can lead to a factual return to the past. In simple terms, if a person takes ten days to walk from point A to point B, then conversely, if the world acknowledges him as "starting ten days earlier," he would immediately arrive at point B.
Thus, "Boson Jump" is a theory based on time transition and teleportation wherein outsiders might perceive the person as instantly traveling from point A to point B, but in essence, its nature lies in rescheduling the departure time ten days earlier on the timeline.
Of course, this wouldn’t manifest in reality.
Moreover, Fang Zheng also thought of another intriguing device.
That is the Black Tech which appeared once in "Doraemon" — the Time Storage Device.
The function of this machine is simple; it can store wasted time and then reuse it. Simply put, if I need to queue for an hour to buy a mobile phone, then by merely pressing "click" on this machine, the hour-long queue time would be skipped directly, allowing instant mobile purchase, and likewise, the hour wasted can be retrieved with another click once the purchase is completed for later use.
This way, not only does it avoid wasting time queuing for a phone, but also doesn’t squander an hour of life.
Of course, all these are theoretical, Doraemon is ultimately a cartoon about Black Tech while the Nadeshiko’s "Boson Jump" only involves theoretical conjecture and observation.
But this is no obstacle for Fang Zheng, after all, he is the Time Dragon!
Manipulating time is his specialty!
Through this data, Fang Zheng finally decided how he would deal with these Reapers.
That is to utilize Boson Jump methods!
In other words, he intends to employ the power of the Time Dragon, directly hop over the millions of years’ time it takes to travel from the Milky Way to the star domain where the Reapers are, and once there, restore the time before summoning the Star Forging Dragon King to sweep through the entire Reaper information.
Of course, there is a very crucial issue that needs solving in this, as even a Time Dragon can’t handle such an immense time scale, but luckily, Fang Zheng is also a Third Magician, with the soul materialization bringing boundless magic power to support him in performing operations of this scale.
After practicing several times, Fang Zheng more or less mastered this technique, hence he decided to make a move.
Let the other fleets scatter across the Milky Way to divert and disperse Reapers’ forces while he, with the main fleet, makes a direct strike at their lair!
So after Tilia accompanied Shupard, the protagonist, and rallying all Milky Way races (also extorting a wave of Element Zero from them), Fang Zheng immediately took the main fleet, stealthily returning to the Nomadic Galaxy.
"Okay, let’s reconfirm the target location, we’re set for departure."
Staring at the Star Map before him, Fang Zheng’s expression was extremely serious.
Next, it’ll be up to him!
