Chapter 240 - 339: Get Lost as Far as You Can

Chapter 240: Chapter 339: Get Lost as Far as You Can

When the final exams ended, Zhao Meimei stayed home for only two days before moving back to Shi Yang’s place. The tutoring class officially started, and the schedule was the same as regular classes. The teachers for the three main subjects were elite educators that Robber Hao had recruited through personal connections; they had also participated in drafting questions for the college entrance exams.

The elite teachers were no longer just handing out worksheets. Instead, they used textbooks to systematically and logically review the learning process from Freshman year, emphasizing the importance of concepts, formulas, and key question types through their teaching.

Zhao Meimei was sitting in the classroom, diligently taking notes along with the teacher. As the teacher turned to write on the board, she secretly sent Shi Yang a short message from her desk: "Bro, what are you up to?"

Shi Yang went to the southern headquarters for a purchasing conference, and Zhao Meimei did not end up going; Robber Hao didn’t approve her leave.

The message was quickly replied to by Shi Yang: "Getting ready to enter the venue; there’ll be a fashion show later on."

Zhao Meimei glanced at the teacher focused on writing on the board and quickly replied: "You’re so lucky, I’m here taking notes; already used up an entire pen refill in three days."

Just after she pressed send, a classmate sitting in the back lightly poked her with a pen.

Zhao Meimei turned around and saw the classmate passing her a note with her name written on it.

Zhao Meimei opened the note, and saw a line scribbled on it: "Lunch at noon, let’s eat." With the signature of Zhang Zhao.

Zhao Meimei turned her head and glanced at Zhang Zhao, lying on the last row looking sleepy, then silently turned back around.

Since the incident erupted last time, Zhao Meimei and Zhang Zhao only had fleeting encounters. She could forgive Xu Xu, but she couldn’t magnanimously include Zhang Zhao and Wang Jiayue in her forgiveness.

Xu Xu was her childhood friend, their bond was there, but what were Wang Jiayue and Zhang Zhao to her?

Wang Jiayue admired Xu Xu, so did that mean she could plot against Zhao Meimei? Zhao Meimei felt she was the farmer who saved the snake; she had already shown mercy by not bringing it up in front of Xu Xu.

As for Zhang Zhao, Zhao Meimei found it quite speechless. After Xu Xu explained the whole situation to her, she was utterly dumbfounded.

That Zhang Zhao secretly liked Zhang Xin was nothing compared to the fact that he orchestrated such elaborate schemes just to obtain an outcome, leaving Zhao Meimei incredulous.

Previously, Zhao Meimei thought Zhang Zhao was just an overly rebellious adolescence suffering from psychological issues. Now, she saw him as a complete lunatic with an extremely twisted mental state.

Zhao Meimei crumpled the note and tossed it into her desk, never glancing at it again.

When noon ended, Zhao Meimei packed up her things and walked away from the tutoring class without looking back. As she stepped out, Zhang Zhao caught up with her.

Zhao Meimei’s gaze towards Zhang Zhao was deep and icy. Zhang Zhao, looking into her eyes, couldn’t find the bottom. A chill crept into his heart.

Zhang Zhao covered his mouth with a hand, using a cough to disguise a sudden panic, paused, and said: "Meimei, can we talk?"

Zhao Meimei tilted her head slightly, staring at him coldly: "What is there left for us to talk about?"

Zhang Zhao hesitated: "I just want to apologize for what happened before..."

Zhao Meimei interrupted him: "Follow me."

With that, Zhao Meimei turned and walked away, Zhang Zhao followed her.

Zhao Meimei led Zhang Zhao around to a corner, out of sight from the crowd.

Facing each other, Zhang Zhao took the initiative to speak: "Meimei, I actually plan to transfer next semester..."

Zhao Meimei suddenly lunged at him out of nowhere. Zhang Zhao’s eyes widened, unable to react, as she pushed him hard into the wall behind him. His back thudded against the cement, making his shoulder blades ache.

Zhao Meimei grabbed his shirt collar, clenched her fist, and started pounding down on him. Zhang Zhao, hit squarely on the cheekbone, was completely dazed.

Zhao Meimei fiercely punched Zhang Zhao a few times. Despite being a girl and not particularly strong, hitting with full force, especially on the face, still exerted considerable pressure.

Zhang Zhao’s temples pulsed, his mind went blank for a moment.

Zhao Meimei’s expression was ferocious and ruthless. She grasped Zhang Zhao’s collar tightly, pulling his head down. Her face was close to Zhang Zhao’s, and the breath from her lips sprayed on his face. Her voice was low but chilling: "Zhang Zhao, I don’t accept your apology. I won’t make amends with you. Before, I trusted you and befriended you; I was blind. From now on, get as far away from me as you possibly can!"

Zhang Zhao’s breath nearly stopped, his chest felt an unfamiliar pain. Almost instantly, rage surged up; he shoved Zhao Meimei away, glaring: "Even if I used someone, it was Xu Xu and Wang Jiayue; what’s it got to do with you? I told you before, Xu Xu likes you, it was you who didn’t believe it. This can’t be blamed on me!"

Zhao Meimei was completely infuriated by his audacious denial.

Zhao Meimei pointed at Zhang Zhao’s nose and cursed: "Not your fault? Xu Xu is my best friend, and you used him just for your filthy thoughts? Now you’re still shamelessly denying this to my face? How is it irrelevant to me? I’m with my brother; what’s it got to do with you? Is it your place to decide whether Xu Xu likes me or not? No matter what you say, you secretly admire Sister Xin, didn’t dare to confess, twisted up inside and wanted to see how I’d treat Xu Xu after his confession, what’s wrong with you, Zhang Zhao? Are you deranged?"

Zhang Zhao’s expression momentarily froze in confusion. As he was dazed, Zhao Meimei charged at him again, smashing her head into his chest. Zhang Zhao once more slammed into the wall, this time losing his balance and sitting directly on the ground.

Zhao Meimei raised her foot, kicking him harshly twice on the stomach. Zhang Zhao groaned, his body curled up, silent and unable to recover for a long time.

Zhao Meimei said with contempt: "Zhang Zhao, I truly despise you."

Zhang Zhao was just about to struggle up to retaliate, but after hearing this, he seemed frozen, stiffening before slumping back to the ground.

Zhao Meimei cursed: "Zhang Zhao, you are the most shameless bastard I’ve ever seen! You think you deserve to have a crush on Sister Xin? Let me tell you, forget about Sister Xin; nobody in this world would accept you! Because you’re mentally unstable! You’re sick! Normal people wouldn’t do such things!"
