Chapter 173: Chapter 172 Training (1)

Shi Yang came out of the mall and called Wang Tianyu to have a meal together.

Wang Tianyu is quite clever and good at dealing with matters, but lacks social experience, sometimes making naive mistakes.

From observing the work situation over a few days, Shi Yang noticed that Wang Tianyu genuinely looked down on Third Brother and the other workers, feeling they were all unrefined, working haphazardly, occasionally taking advantage, and unable to speak properly.

Shi Yang poured wine for Wang Tianyu, but Wang Tianyu hurriedly took over, insisting on pouring it himself, and Shi Yang didn’t argue with him.

The two clinked glasses and each drank up their wine.

Once the wine was in their stomachs, Shi Yang finally said, "Tianyu, I called you out today because I want to talk to you."

Wang Tianyu was bewildered, carefully observing Shi Yang’s expression, quickly recalling if he messed up anything recently or said anything wrong. After thinking it over, he had no clues, so nervously asked, "Mr. Shi, did I do something wrong?"

Wang Tianyu is from out of town, studied marketing at the university here, and when Shi Yang hired him, he was in his final year, nearly graduating. He secured an internship early, and by chance, got hired by Shi Yang’s company, and since joining, he never left.

Wang Tianyu isn’t someone who studies rigidly; he usually likes to explore things. He followed Shi Yang and Qu Chaozong from starting with software to now developing Naughty Castle, firmly sticking with them—not because he’s lazy to leave or got used to the work, but because he genuinely believes in Shi Yang.

Shi Yang’s vision and abilities are enough to make him follow wholeheartedly, and because of this, Wang Tianyu greatly admires and respects Shi Yang.

Now, seeing Shi Yang specially invite him out with such a serious attitude, he doesn’t feel confident inside.

Wang Tianyu scrutinized himself repeatedly but couldn’t find any obvious errors hastily, mainly because Shi Yang hadn’t taken him out to handle mall leasing matters in a while.

Wang Tianyu followed Qu Chaozong to assist with installing Naughty Castles for kindergartens, earning what’s considered hard-earned money. Although his salary increased, he felt somewhat unbalanced, thinking he should be an office worker but now found himself doing labor.

However, such thoughts only occasionally popped up when exhausted from work, as he absolutely didn’t believe Shi Yang would truly abandon mall leasing, having heard directly from Shi Yang about the opportunities there.

Shi Yang is ambitious and capable of great achievements; Wang Tianyu deeply believes in this, so even if Shi Yang brought him here for hard work, he endured, not just endured but worked harder, always striving to gain Shi Yang’s recognition and to be valued by him.

After asking, Wang Tianyu didn’t hear a reply for a while and had to gather his nerve to add, "Mr. Shi, if I haven’t done something properly, just tell me, and I’ll definitely fix it."

Shi Yang calmly watched Wang Tianyu, giving him enough time to think before finally speaking, "There is something I think I need to tell you."

Wang Tianyu instinctively straightened his back, showing an attentive posture.

Shi Yang looked at Wang Tianyu: "What do you think of Third Brother?"

"Him?" Wang Tianyu hesitated for a moment as he began to speak.

Third Brother is among the few workers with a good temper, willing to work hard, and he’s particularly adaptable, speaking appropriately to different people, good at managing atmosphere and communicating.

When the guys gather, he’s the most popular; although Qu Chaozong is kind and can blend in well, everyone knows he’s partly the boss, which adds a bit of flattery to their interactions, subconsciously careful about boundaries, making genuine relationships difficult, just superficial mingling.

When Wang Tianyu started working at the kindergarten, Qu Chaozong occasionally had to deal with logistics, and Third Brother would voluntarily look after him, leaving Wang Tianyu grateful and remembering his kindness.

Shi Yang asked a question and then ceased speaking, just watching Wang Tianyu, waiting for his answer.

Wang Tianyu thought for a moment before solemnly saying, "Third Brother is really a good person, diligent and honest, never playing tricks."

Shi Yang’s gaze remained on Wang Tianyu, and after he finished speaking, Shi Yang nodded, "I think so too, so I’m planning to let him be in charge of promoting and installing Naughty Castles in the counties under the city."

Upon hearing this, Wang Tianyu’s face changed, looking at Shi Yang in surprise: "Let him be in charge?"

Wang Tianyu’s face showed undisguisable astonishment and disbelief.

He felt that whether it’s the duration of following Shi Yang or personal ability, he surpasses Third Brother by far. He’s a college student specializing in marketing; he always believed Shi Yang assigned him here to train him from the ground up, intending to cultivate him.

He never expected Shi Yang intended to groom Third Brother instead. Then what about him? What should he do?

Wang Tianyu was utterly stunned for a moment, his mind in chaos, unable to think rationally.

He almost blurted out to question Shi Yang, asking why he made such a decision!

When this thought emerged from his heart, Wang Tianyu instinctively pressed his lips tightly, forcibly swallowing the words. He wasn’t qualified.

Shi Yang is his boss, and he is just a worker trying to make a living under someone else’s hand. If the boss values him, it means he’s doing well; if not, the boss likely has his reasons.

Shi Yang’s words crushed Wang Tianyu’s morale to the bottom.

He dejectedly started contemplating why Shi Yang would rather promote Third Brother and not choose him—was it because of the difference between fields? But he had been working alongside them; he wouldn’t dare claim more but at least felt capable of taking on tasks with just two workers.

What Third Brother could accomplish, he could too, so what was Third Brother better at?

As Wang Tianyu thought of this, his heart skipped, suddenly realizing exactly where he lacked.

Wang Tianyu never paid attention to these detailed matters, but thinking carefully now, though there are only four or five people working together, aside from Qu Chaozong and Third Brother, he didn’t intentionally bond with the others, usually just greeting them superficially.
